The weather was so nice and sunny, even though it was actually winter there since the seasons are flipped from the northern hemisphere. We saw the famous Sydney Opera House right away and I thought it looked like a huge sailing ship made of roof tiles. So cool!We spent a few days exploring Sydney. We walked across the massive steel Sydney Harbour Bridge, which was a little scary being so high up! But the views of the city and harbour were incredible. We also went to the Taronga Zoo and I got to see real live kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and so many other unique Aussie animals up close. Holding a koala was definitely one of the highlights - they're so soft and cuddly!After Sydney, we flew to Cairns which is a city way up in the northeastern part of Australia. The best part about Cairns was getting to visit the incredible Great Barrier Reef. We went on a boat tour and got to snorkel and see tons of bright colorful fish and coral.
