《高中英语报刊阅读课》教学案例及反思

一、案例描述

（一）Activity1 寻找话题

首先由教师先对报纸进行介绍，选学生感兴趣的话题（sorting & listing task）。在这个过程中，教师要给予学生指导：

1. 介绍英语报刊的特点是什么？和中文报纸有什么不同？⑴新闻标题。英文标题通常删略掉冠词、连词and ，动词to be 等语法成分或词语，一般不表现为一个完整的句子。⑵长句的使用。英语新闻通常使用大量的长句，有时一大段文字甚至就是一句话。在英语新闻中使用长句可以做到叙事具体，说理严密。⑶大量的引述。英语新闻为了进一步阐述事件发生的来龙去脉，达到客观真实的效果，就需要采用大量引述，提供必要的背景材料或知识。因此，一篇英语新闻报道中源引政府官员、专业人士、分析评论专家的话层出不穷。⑷交代清楚消息的来源。英语新闻经常在消息报道中把新闻出处交代清楚，一一标明，这是因为记者深知读者阅报时往往较注重消息的来源。⑸词汇特征。有大量的与新事物相关的词汇，如3G Cell Phones， A（H1N1）等；现代汉语中出现的新词汇，如the two-day offs（双休日）；job-hop（跳槽）等。

2. 怎样读英语报。运用平时阅读课上的跳读和精读方法。

3. 帮助学生解决读报过程中遇到的新词、短语、旧词新意等现象。如staple（大路货）； grand slam（大满）；亚健康――subhealth；房奴――house slave；月光族――the moonlight clan等。

4. 学生提交自己最喜欢的话题或内容主题，由老师汇总多数人共同

感兴趣的内容。准备下一环节讨论。上课的这周恰逢3.15消费者日，因此学生对于如何保护自身的消费权利也相当感兴趣。这个就激发了学生们广泛的阅读兴趣。大部分学生都选取了how to protect your consumer rights这篇文章。

Do your research before making any large or important purchase.By looking at various products，reviews and price ranges，you can protect yourself from scams（骗局），Invest in an online or print magazine like Consumer Reports，which will Provide you with more information about the products that you intend to buy.

Get a second opinion on large or risky purchase.In the case of a personal purchase，consult a trusted friend or family member.

Ask about product warranties（保单）.A warranty is a written guarantee that the seller or manufacturer will repair or replace a product if it breaks down within a certain amount of time.If a product comes with a warranty of one year or more，consider it an advantage of purchasing the product from that seller.Remember to

request a receipt for purchases.It is usually required to return faulty products or submit a complaint against a business.Keep track of other documents，such as contracts and manuals.

Avoid giving your personal information online.One of the best way to protect you consumer rights is to be knowledgeable about online scamming techniques，which grow more advanced every day.Do not give your credit card number or email address out unless you know you are using a trusted site. Read and submit a warranty after purchase.It is important to observer the care instruction of a product.Some warranties will be voided（废弃的）if you misuse the products.For example，many phone companies no longer offer a warranty if their phone was dropped into water because it is seen as the consumer’s carelessness.

（二）Activity2 对确定的话题――如何保护自身的消费权利进行集体讨论。

1. 确定文章集体阅读。

2. 找出作者的观点。在这篇文章中作者给出大量信息教会人们怎么去保护自己的消费权利。

3. 小组讨论（根据作者的看法，可支持或否定。）在这里，教师给出问题，how do you find the author’s opinion about the consumer rights.

二、教学反思
