I reminded them to keep their voices down and not disturb other classes. I also monitored the use of mobile phones during school hours and asked students to put them away if necessary。

浅议高中英语值日报告
英语课上课一开始进行5分钟左右的值日报告(duty report)是英语课堂教学的一个重要环节。
这种简单的英语报告尽管只占几分钟时间,但对渲染课堂气氛,调动和激发学生英语学习的积极性和创造性,及时复习巩固课堂内容起着不可低估的作用。
通过多年的教学实践证明,短短的五分钟值日报告,不仅提高了学生的学习主动性,激发了学生学习兴趣和参与意识;同时培养了他们的创造性思维,加强了他们对于英语这门语言的综合运用能力。
一、值日报告的意义和作用
教师走下讲台,学生走上讲台。
让学生感知和习得语言,在课堂内开展活动。
把所学的知识转化为活生生的交际事实,启用真实情感进行语言操练,从而把真实生活带进课堂,使语言自然融入交际背景中,使生活自然融入教学之中。
课堂上的5分钟,需要课后10-20分钟,甚至更长时间的准备。
做好准备是做好值日报告的前提。
无论是何种形式的值日报告,学生都要对所要做的报告进行选题、选材;阅读材料、组织材料、加工整理;为最后上台汇报做好充分的准备工作。
在整个准备过程中,学生分析问题和解决问题的能力逐步得到提高,与其它学生的合作能力也得到加强,实际上也是一个综合能力训练的过程和知识巩固的过程。
准备充分的学生做值日报告时都会充满自信,语言流畅,能较充分地运用语言知识;一方面提高了自身的英语运用能力;另一方面,为课堂创造了一个真实的英语语境。
二、值日报告的显性效果
(一)充分发挥学生的主体作用,提高学生学习和运用语言的综合能力
为了在值日报告过程中展示自我,学生在准备过程中,会查找课外阅读材料。
从而有心地积累一些好的故事、笑话、名人名言或者好的句型;还会积极主动使用;改编已学过的词汇和句型。
有时想表达心中所思所想,必会查阅汉英字典或寻求其他同学的帮助,从而创造性地使用未学过的词汇和表达方式。
而且为了能有效地在汇报过程中与其他学生互动,总有一些奇思妙想,把电视中的娱乐互动节目或课堂上教师的互动模式加上自身的创新结合起来。
这一准备过程中,学生增加了阅读量,提高了自主学习能力;扩大了词汇量,提高了遣词造句能力。
学生将所学知识及自身思想展现出来,既提前了他们自信,培养了沉着和应变能力,还大大提高了他们的口语水平。
(二)激发了其他学生的参与意识,提高他们的口语和听力能力一则好的值日报告,不仅让参加者增加自信,富有成就感。
作为听众和观众的其他学生在感叹这位同学良好的口语表达和有见地的思想、观点的同时,自身也想轮到自己做值日报告时,在这一方小小的台上show出自己最佳的水平,给他人留下深刻的印象。
这样对于后面的参与者是一个很好的示范与激发作用。
为了避免在做报告中,出现学生无所事实的情况,听的学生会拿出笔来记录一些要点;轮到值日报告结束时,可由值日的学生提1-2个问题,请学
生回答;有时可以反之,听的学生在时间允许的范围内,用英语陈述对报告的看法,或提出或指出报告中语音语调,句型等方面的小错误,从而共同提高。
事实证明,这样既提高了全班学生的听力和口语能力,而且生生之间有一良好的互动关系。
二、优化值日报告的两大举措
值日报告虽然由学生自己设计操作的,但作为课堂主导的老师,则起着优化值日报告的作用,老师对于报告的质量,长度及效果则起着重要的调控和监督作用。
(一)分层报告,确保质量
为了防止流于形式,没有效果。
教师应对所有学生提出明确要求:正确的语音语调,声音响亮清晰,举止自然大方,面带微笑自如,注意与观众的眼神交流,关注观众的反应,同时加入恰当的表情、动作、道具等。
学生口语水平参差不齐,如何改善这一状况呢?笔者采用了“优生带头,优生带中等生,教师带后进生”的分层报告形式。
具体是这样的:先让英语课代表、英语小组长和一批口语表达能力强,自信大方的优秀学生先做报告,通过他们的示范,让全班学生有一个对值日报告水平的把握。
然而轮到积累了一些经验的中等生,在中等生努力准备排练的过程中,我安排一位优生指导一位中等生,以最快速度帮助中等生进步、成长。
(二)内容实效,评价客观
高中阶段的学生,已积累了一定的词汇量,思想也趋成熟,。
但由于地处农村高中,交通信息相对闭塞。
对于体裁,我并不注重花
哨,摸拟什么才艺展示,娱乐节目等;更注重实效,只强调一点:内容要与课本目前内容有关,与自身的心灵成长关注有关,或与学校家庭的重大事件有关。
但汇总学生的报告,体裁还是多样化的:有单人的课本文章改写或复述报告,有个人的一段生活或经历报告,有自己设计的对话报告,有自选短文,笑话,有关于考试的自我反思,有对昔日同窗和教师的回忆想念,有对朋友遭受不幸的深深同情,还有比较创新的自编自唱的英语歌曲展示。
一则则报告,一颗颗纯真的心灵。
就评价而言,值日报告应使班级里的每个学生做完后都有一种成就感。
所以评价一定要客观、公正而又合理,作为老师,要尽量肯定每个学生的优点,婉转道出他们的缺点。
实践证明,英语值日报导是一种真实的语言实践形式,同时也是一种有效的教学活动。
在创造一种浓厚的英语课堂氛围的同时,使全体学生增强了语言综合运用能力。
学生运用英语进行表达的创造力和能量是无穷的,你不知道明天的课堂会有什么精彩的内容在等着你。
只要长期坚持,学生积极运用英语的能力会逐步增强,自信心与成就感会大大提高,那么明天的课堂就更别开生面,引人入胜。
