The pie chart depicts the makeup of people’s consumption in a certain city during Spring Festival. Among the four types listed, new year presents account for 40%, the largest proportion, and traffic, dinner parties and others occupy 20% respectively.
First of all, people would like to spend most of their money on new year presents because it is a Chinese tradition to express best wishes through presents on holidays. Moreover, most people make a journey to reunite with the family--for many, it is the only chance in one or even several years to enjoy the happy time with the dearest persons. Furthermore, people often gather together to dine with each other to enhance communication and strengthen relationships. Apart from those mentioned above, people also spend money on new clothes for themselves, mobile phones and household facilities among others.
In conclusion, we find that most people’s festival expenses go to the reunion and communication with family members or friends. It is the most important occasion for all Chinese, so the top choices are always giving presents, going home and dining together.
