Green Book is a thought-provoking film that explores the racial tensions and prejudices in America during the 1960s. It tells the story of an unlikely friendship between an African American pianist, Dr. Don Shirley, and his Italian American driver, Tony Lip. The film is a powerful reminder of the injustices and struggles faced by people of color in the past, and how these issues still resonate today. The performances by Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali are outstanding, bringing depth and authenticity to their characters. Their on-screen chemistry is undeniable, and they effectively convey the complexities of their relationship amidst the backdrop of segregation and discrimination. The film does an excellent job of balancing heavy subject matter with moments of humor and warmth. It's a story of hope and resilience, as Dr. Shirley and Tonynavigate through the challenges of their journey and form a bond that transcends race and class. The cinematography and music in Green Book are also worth mentioning. The film beautifully captures the landscapes of the American South, and the soundtrack adds another layer of emotion to the storytelling.Overall, Green Book is a must-see for its powerful performances, important themes, and ultimately, its message of unity and understanding. It's a film that will stay with you long after the credits roll.。

the 1960s in America作文

the 1960s in America作文In the 1960s, many young Americans were dissatisfied with American society. They wanted to end the Vietnam War and to make all of the people in the U.S. equal. Some of them decided to "drop out" of American society and form their own societies. They formed utopian communities, which they called “communes”, where they could follow their philosophy of “do your own thing”. A group of artists founded a commune in southern Colorado called "Drop City." Following the ideas of philosopher and architect Buckminster Fuller, they built dome-shaped houses from pieces of old cars. Other groups, such as author Ken Kesey’s Merry Pranksters, the followers of San Francisco poet Steve Gakin, and a group that called itself the Hog Farm, lived in old school houses and traveled around the United States. The Hog Farm became famous when the y helped organize the Woodstock Rock Festival in 1969. Steve Gaskin’s followers tried to settle down on a farm in Tennessee, but they had to leave when some members of the group were arrested for growing marijuana. Not all communes believed in the philosophy of “do your own thing”. However, Twin Oaks, a commune founded in Virgiania in the late 1960s, was based on the ideas of psychologist B.F.Skinner. The people who lived at Twin Oaks were carefully controlled by Skinner’s “conditioning”techniques to do things that were good for thecommunity. In 1972, Italian architect Paolo Soleri beg an to build Arcosanti, a utopian city Arizsona where 2500 people will live closely together in one large building called an “archeology”. Soleri believes that people must live closely together so that they will all become one.。

Apocalypse Now
"Apocalypse Now" is a very advanced piece of war art, and is a very interesting war movie . If you want to see is similar to "Saving Private Ryan" , it is advised you do not need to see "Apocalypse Now". Back to the topic, "Apocalypse Now" as a captain to accept a secret order - the assassination of a mutiny of Colonel crazy into the book, in the implementation of the order of the way people everywhere experience incredible ridiculous. The captain received orders, in itself with the psychological trauma of the Vietnam War, received orders that drunk before, the room filled with people suffocated in the atmosphere of despair. Some small details in the emergence of the film is very interesting, that absurd show sympathy ambiguous showed a distinct human nature of war and conflict between, and even the desire of people are unable to meet, it advertised a "liberation of Vietnam, exterminated the communist doctrine "of the war, what can these soldiers? The so-called war, deprived of their lost humanity, and only the law of the jungle natural mechanism for any of the mercy and compassion, are ridiculous, hypocritical . No matter how radical art, always can not change the reality of this society, both full of passion, full of the spirit of the artist how to use film to express their own ideas, the reality is always merciless to tell us: who is always a sad, morbid Animals Let "Apocalypse Now" to the heritage nature of the war, so that the reality of war in modern society continue to deny swallow fishes only human .

My Favorite American MovieWhen it comes to American movies, the choices are endless, ranging from action-packed thrillers to heartfelt dramas. Among them, one film that stands out as my absolute favorite is "The Shawshank Redemption." Directed by Frank Darabont and starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, this movie tells a story of hope, friendship, and redemption in the midst of seemingly insurmountable challenges. The film opens with Andy Dufresne, a banker wrongly convicted of murdering his wife and her lover, being sent to Shawshank Prison. Despite the grim surroundings, Andy maintains his dignity and intellect, gradually winning the respect of his fellow inmates and even the prison guards. Through his unwavering spirit and resilience, he transforms the prison library into a place of learning and inspiration, igniting a spark of hope within his fellow prisoners. What makes this movie so captivating is its powerful narrative and the depth of the characters. Andy's journey from a broken man to a symbol of hope and inspiration is both heartbreaking and uplifting. The friendship between Andy and Red, another inmate who serves as the film's narrator, adds an emotional layer that makes the viewer root for their freedom and happiness. The Shawshank Redemption" is not just a movie; it's a timeless tale of human resilience and the power of hope. It reminds us that no matter how bleak our situation may seem, there is always a way to find light in the darkness. The film's ending, which features a heartfelt and unexpected reunion between old friends, leaves the viewer with a sense of warmth and optimism that stays with them for a long time.In conclusion, "The Shawshank Redemption" is my favorite American movie because it embodies everything I love about cinema: powerful storytelling,深刻的人物塑造, emotional depth, and a message of hope that resonates with audiences across the globe. It's a movie that I can watch无数次and still find new insights and inspirations each time.。

Green Book" is a thought-provoking and poignant film that delves into the complexities of race relations in1960s America. The film follows the journey of an unlikely duo: Tony Lip, a white working-class bouncer from the Bronx, and Dr. Don Shirley, a renowned African American classical pianist. As they embark on a concert tour through the segregated South, they face both overt racism and subtle prejudices, ultimately forging an unbreakable bond despite their vastly different backgrounds. The film's greatest strength lies in its nuanced and authentic portrayal of both Lip and Shirley. Lip, playedwith rawness and humor by Viggo Mortensen, initially comes across as uncultured and prejudiced, but gradually undergoes a transformation as he witnesses thediscrimination faced by Shirley. Shirley, played with quiet dignity and strength by Mahershala Ali, is a brilliant andaccomplished musician who nevertheless experiences the indignity of being treated as a second-class citizen. Through their shared experiences, both characters learn to confront their own biases and recognize the common humanity beneath their differences. The film's director, Peter Farrelly, deftly balances humor and pathos, creating a film that is both entertaining and emotionally resonant. The film's script, co-written by Farrelly and Nick Vallelonga, is sharp and insightful, offering both a historical snapshot and a timeless exploration of the human condition."Green Book" is a must-see for anyone interested in American history, race relations, or simply great filmmaking. It is a film that will stay with you long after the credits roll, prompting you to reflect on the complexities of human nature and the power of empathy.

The 2018 film "Green Book" is a poignant and powerful exploration of race relations in 1960s America. Directed by Peter Farrelly, the film tells the true story of a renowned African-American pianist, Dr. Don Shirley, who hires a working-class Italian-American bouncer, Tony Vallelonga, to be his driver and bodyguard on a concert tour through the Deep South. As the two men embark on their journey, they are forced to confront their own prejudices and preconceptions about each other and the world around them. The film's title refers to the "Negro Motorist Green Book," a travel guide that provided African-Americans with information on hotels, restaurants, and other businesses that were welcoming to them during the era of segregation and Jim Crow laws. One of the film's greatest strengths is its nuanced and complex portrayal of the relationship between Shirley and Vallelonga. At the outset, the two men are vastly different in their backgrounds, experiences, and worldviews. Shirley is a highly educated and cultured man, while Vallelonga is a rough-around-the-edgesworking-class guy. Their initial interactions are marked by mutual suspicion and misunderstanding. However, as they spend more time together on the road, a genuine friendship begins to develop between them. They learn to appreciate each other's strengths and unique perspectives, and they come to see the humanity in one another. This transformation is not always easy or straightforward, and the film does not shy away from the conflicts and tensions that arise between them. One of the most powerful scenes in the film occurs when Shirley and Vallelonga encounter a group of racist white men at a diner in the Deep South. The men refuse to serve Shirley, and Vallelonga is forced to confront his own complicity in the racist system. This scene is a powerful reminder of the pervasive and deeply entrenched nature of racism in American society, and it highlights the courage and resilience of those who dared to challenge it.Throughout the film, the relationship between Shirley and Vallelonga serves as a metaphor for the broader struggle for racial justice and equality in America. The film's message is clear – that true progress can only be achieved through empathy, understanding, and a willingness to confront our own biases and prejudices. One of the most fascinating aspects of "Green Book" is the way itsubverts traditional Hollywood narratives about race relations. Rather than presenting a simplistic, feel-good story of two men overcoming their differences, the film acknowledges the complexity and nuance of the issue. It recognizes that racism is not just a matter of individual prejudice, but is deeply rooted in systemic and institutional structures that have shaped American society for centuries. The film's portrayal of Shirley is particularly noteworthy. Rather than presenting him as a one-dimensional hero or victim, the film depicts him as a fully realized, complex individual with his own flaws and struggles. Shirley's character is a powerful reminder that African-Americans are not a monolithic group, but rather a diverse and multifaceted community with a rich and complex history.Similarly, the film's portrayal of Vallelonga is refreshingly nuanced. Rather than simply casting him as a racist villain, the film acknowledges the ways in which his own upbringing and life experiences have shaped his worldview. It is only through his interactions with Shirley that he is able to confront and challenge his own biases and prejudices.Ultimately, "Green Book" is a powerful and thought-provoking film that challenges us to confront our own biases and preconceptions about race and identity. It is a film that encourages us to engage indifficult conversations and to seek out new perspectives and experiences that can broaden our understanding of the world around us.In a time of increasing political and social polarization, "Green Book" is a timely and important reminder of the power of empathy, understanding, and mutual respect. It is a film that reminds us that progress is not always easy or straightforward, but that it is ultimately worth fighting for.。

In the author’s mind, Snow White is just a common modern woman, is a real person with emotions, such as: a sense of oppression, a sense of abjection and jealous, and she still wishes that she can do out of tune with the real-life fairy tale of dreams. She dreams that she can do out of tune with the real-life fairy tale of dreams .And also, she hopes that she can be the same, to become the center of attention.
