My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I just finished the 4th grade and I'm really excited to be at summer camp this year! Last summer was so much fun that I begged my parents to send me back again.I've been counting down the days until camp started. I packed my favorite stuffed animal Sprinkles the unicorn, my swim suit and goggles, and a ton of sunscreen. I can't wait to go swimming every day in the lake and work on my backstroke. I'm also really looking forward to the camp's big water balloon fight on the last day. It's going to be an epic battle!Another thing I love about camp is all the cool outdoor activities we get to do. Last year, I went hiking for the first time ever. I was a little nervous at first since the woods seem so big and scary. But our counselors made sure we all stuck together and they taught us all about the plants and animals we saw along the trail. By the end, I felt like a real nature explorer!We also did archery which was super fun even though I wasn't that great at it. I definitely hit the target more times than I missed it though! I'm hoping to get even better at it this summer. Horseback riding was another highlight - I loved getting to take care of and ride the horses. Their names were Butterscotch and Cinnamon and they were just the sweetest. I can't wait to see them again!One of the best parts of camp is making new friends from all over. There are girls here from different states and even other countries! It's so cool to learn about their hometowns andtraditions. We love trading stories and exploring the woods together to look for cool bugs and stuff. Last year, my bestie was a girl named Sophia from California. This year, I'm already becoming really good friends with a girl from England named Pippa. She has the cutest accent!The counselors are all really nice and fun too. They play awesome games with us every night like capture the flag and counselor hunt. We also have silly contests like belly flop competitions and talent shows. I'm planning to showcase my expert level friendship bracelet making skills if I can work up enough courage! At night, we all gather around the campfire to sing songs, eat s'mores, and hear crazy campfire stories from the counselors. Some of them are so spooky!There's just so much to do here that I never have time to get bored. When I'm not doing organized activities, there's a huge play area with a playground, tennis courts, tetherball, you name it. You can always find kids running around playing tag or making up new games.The best part is we don't have any boring schoolwork or chores to worry about all summer. No math homework, no cleaning my room, no nagging from my parents! It's pretty much just nonstop fun from when we wake up until we finally collapseinto our bunks at night. Speaking of which, I better wrap this up because I hear the morning bugle calling us to the flagpole. I can't wait to see what adventurous day lies ahead!。
