Then, when he inadvertently hits a construction worker, he is forced to go to a retirement home. but before they can take him ,he and his house fly away. However he has a stowaway aboard . Though Carl is initially thrilled to meet his hero, when he realizes that Muntz is after Kevin and will kill to obtain her, Carl takes steps to save the bird and escape from Muntz.

The whole adventure feeling of the movie was exciting and engaging. "Up" is supposedly about achieving our dreams, discovering who we really are, learning to adapt to the changes life brings to us.
Finally They defeated Muntz . Carl proudly presents Russell with his final badge for assisting the elderly, as well as a personal addition: the grape soda cap that Ellie gave to Carl when they first met (which he dubs the "Ellie Badge").
