It was raining. In his way home from school Peter saw an old man walking with difficult in the rain without a umbrella. Peter went up to him and offered share the umbrella with him. The old man in poor health, so Peter tried to hold the umbrella. But he was so short to hold it high enough. While wondered what to do, he saw the old man's stick and had an idea. He had tied the stick to the handle of the umbrella and made them longer. Now we shared the umbrella. Peter was happy.

One afternoon, Mr. Smith went to department store to buy a T-shirt. There was no shop assistant when he entered in the store. He had to wait. Then an old lady comes into the store. She went to Mr. Smith but asked him to serve her. She told Mr. Smith to sell a T-shirt. Mr. S mith told her that he couldn’t do that. But the lady didn’t believe that Mr. Smith said. She didn’t let Mr. Smith explaining anything and insisted that Mr. Smith do that right away because it was her job. At last Mr. Smith had to tell her that he was a customer himself and wanted to buy a T-shirt, too. Heard this, the old lady felt embarrassing and said sorry to Mr. Smith.

One day, I was cooking in the kitchen as the telephone rang. I went to answer it immediate. She was my close friend, Lisa. When we were talking on a phone, the fire alarm sounded. I ran back to the kitchen. The room full of smoke and the beef was badly burnt. I quickly turned off the gas, opening all the windows, and then went out of the house. With my surprise, two fire engines were outside of my house. I was rather worrying. I told about the firemen that it was my careless cooking which caused the heavy smoke.

My neighbor Li Hai is going to graduate college and he hasn’t found the job yet. He was once advising to learn computer skills, so he thought it was difficult. When he saw others learning English, he shook his head, says it was too hard to remember the new word. He enjoyed watching TV, playing cards, smoking and so on. He felt it was hard for him to give up all this habits. Not long ago, he went to look for a job. When he knew that talents were great needed, he sighed and regretted the time that what he had wasted. How he wished he has worked hard in college!

Dear Susan,

I am very glad to hear you are coming to visit me the next Friday. Unfortunate, I won’ t be able to meet you at the airport since

I have classes in afternoon. You won’t find difficult to get to the city center. The airport bus leaves every 30 minute and will take you straightly to the Friendship Hotel. My class will be over by then or I will pick you up there. I will take you together to a hot-pot restaurant for dinner and we’ll talk with our plan for the weekend over Dinner. Having a pleasant trip and see you Friday.

After a final examination，I got a letter from my best friend and his parents live on a farm. They invited me stay with them for several weeks. I was so exciting that I could sleep all night. When I got to their home，I was warm received. I lived in a big and nice room. I enjoyed the life here very much. Every morning we got up early and walk on the farm where we could enjoy the fresh air or beautiful scenery. We gathered some flowers here and there，and I found it filled with funs. In the afternoon we did our homework. I did have a good time.

I have just got some good news to tell to you. I win a national prize for painting last week. My father was so pleasing that he suggested I went to England for a holiday. I’d like to staying there for half a month, visiting place of interest and practicing my English as well. We’ve been often writing to each for a year and a half now. I
