The age he lived had witnessed the flourish of capitalism as well as the prosperity of industrialization and urbanization. During the 19th century, the American economy developed at so fast rate that most people were bound up in pursuing the material satisfaction , while ingored the spiritual life to a great extent. But Thoreau was quite different from other people, he disdained the modern civilization and attached more importance to the spirit than the material. He thought many people of his time lived in a non-human-like modern society and many modern appliances, such as trains and telegraphs, had done harm to peoples harmonious life peace and also broken the relationship between human and nature. In order to prove that without the modern instruments , people can also live a happy life, in 1845, he moved into a cabin on the shore of Walden Pond and live there alone for two years to get close to the nature .Walden, is the famous book mainly talks about his life and thoughts during those days living in the woods .Thoreau was so happy with the life living near thelake of Walden that he felt it a sweet grace to have the nature accompany and even the sounds of rain and the sights around his house were full of sincere friendship. In his eyes, the nature was an intimate friend of him and all things in the nature were lively and vivacious. And all kinds of animals in the wood, such as field mouses, robins and wild rabbits were amicably treated and regarded as his adorable companions. He even thought that plants were also had the right to live equal with human beings. Just because of this, he even blamed himself for hitting chestnut trees with stones. From many words or sentences, we can easily feel Thoreaus deep love and care towards nature.Besides, Thoreau was a pioneering nature lover, who called on people to stop destorying nature but protect it by setting himself an example to others. The consciousness of the environmental protection is becoming more and more important in our modern society, while the whole world is trapped in some serious ecological crisises resulting from hunting and killing animals, cutting down trees and polluting the rivers for pursuit of human beings own interests. We all have the common sense that the number of wildlife is decreasing, the area of lake is shrinking, and the wateris not clear any more. Whats worse, environment problems such as globe warming, climate change and air and water pollution are deteriorating during the commercial process . So its high time that we should realize we never be the dominator of the whole world conquring nature, but should spare no efforts to improve the environment right away. That is, we should comply with the natural laws, make reasonable utilization of natural resources and keep the harmonious development between the society and the environment. Only in this way will we has an opportunity to embrace a bright future and achieve a sustainable society .In the book, Walden, Thoreau not only advocated the protection of nature, but also encourage people to comprehend and return to nature. He told us using his own experience that by living a simple life close to nature, we human beings will find out the true value of life and significance of existence. After reading the book, what impressed me most is the description of the fascinating scenery around the Walden pound, especially these sentences: A lake is the landscapes most beautiful and expressive feature. It is earths eye; looking into which the beholder measuresthe depth of his own nature. The fluviatile trees next the shore are the slender eyelashes which fringe it, and the wooded hills and cliffs around are its overhanging brows. To Thoreau, the Walden lake is like a charming and melting girl , who has slender eyelashes and likes to dress herself in different beautiful clothes with the changes of different seasons.Every morning after getting up, Thoreau would have a bath in the Walden lake to start a new day. After that, he used to wander around the pond and refresh himself with the fresh air. In summer days , he cultivated a piece of land and growed beans, blackberries, johnsworts and the like. The depiction of his leisure rurality spontaneously reminds me of Tao Yuanming, the famous Chinese poet, who lived in the Jin Dynasty and made his life meaningful by returning to the nature and perfecting himself. If Thoreau and Tao Yuanming lived in the same period and place, they would probably become best friends. From the book, we know that during the years when Thoreau lived near the Walden, he did not completely isolate himself from the outside world. Sometimes he went to the town and did odd jobs and would receive visitors and friends in his cabin at times. As I mentionbefore, the intention for his living in the woods was that he wanted to teach people how to live a simple life, achieve enjoyment from the nature, free oneself from the strained daily life and what is more important is to reevaluate the value of social life.Thoreaus though of enjoying a simple life has a more realistic significance and have become a valuable spiritual wealth in our modern society. With the development of the material civilization, peoples desires are swelling limitlessly and many people are busy with the pursuit of wealth and luxurious life by any means, including at the expense of nature. However, even in the society materially affluent and technologically advanced , people are not be more happier than those people who lived centuries ago, but even feel less satisfactory and complaint more about their present life as a result of having unbounded desires of getting more and better. Therefore, many people who possess a lat have become slaves of machine, working more but do not have the ability to enjoy what they have.In the book Walden, Thoreau had realize this problem several hundreds ago. Thus, he set his mind to give a enlightenment to awake people and encourage themto live a simple life. His thoughts have great similarity with the belief of our Chinese humanism, that is, the meaning of life lies in the sane and healthy enjoyment of a simple life. In fact, Thoreau and his teacher and friend Emerson praised highly on Confucianism and both them benefited a lot from it. I am very happy to see the interlinked place between Chinese culture and western culture.Reading this book is like having a tranquil steam flow through my heart, washing the dust in my mind. It teaches me how to keep a pure spirit in the complex society, set proper goals for my life as well as enjoy the endows of nature. In short, I feel it quite worthwhile to read the book Walden. I sincerely hope more and more people would like to read this book and receive benefits from it .瓦尔登湖读后感英文。

Walden Lake: Reflections on Solitude andNatureAmidst the hustle and bustle of modern life, Thoreau's "Walden Lake" offers a serene and profound escape. This timeless classic, a testament to the author's two-year sojourn in the woods by the lake, is not just a narrativeof solitude and self-reliance; it's a meditation on the essence of life, nature, and our relationship with the world.Reading "Walden Lake" is an immersive experience, one that transports the reader to a world where the simple pleasures of nature - the gentle lapping of waves, the rustling of leaves, the song of birds - become the soundtrack of existence. Thoreau's observations are both keen and poetic, capturing the minutiae of nature in a way that makes us see the world anew. He reminds us that evenin the midst of apparent solitude, we are never truly alone; the universe whispers its secrets to us through the language of nature. What I found particularly striking about the book isits ability to reconcile the seeming paradox of solitudeand community. Thoreau's decision to withdraw from society and live a life of simplicity is not one of isolation, but rather of self-discovery and connection with the natural world. His cabin by the lake becomes a symbol of both freedom and interconnectedness, a place where he can truly be himself while also feeling a deep sense of belonging to the larger universe. Moreover, "Walden Lake" challenges our conventional understanding of happiness and success. In a society that often equates material wealth and social status with happiness, Thoreau offers a different perspective. He suggests that true happiness lies not in the accumulation of material possessions or the approval of others, but in the pursuit of meaning and fulfillment through a life aligned with our true selves and the natural world. The book's influence is still felt today, not just in the realm of literature but also in the way it has shaped our understanding of environmentalism and the importance of preserving nature. Thoreau's observations on the delicate balance of the ecosystem and his warnings about thepotential consequences of human interference are as relevant today as they were when he first penned them.In conclusion, "Walden Lake" is not just a book about living in nature; it's a profound exploration of the human spirit and our place in the universe. It teaches us to appreciate the simplicity and beauty of nature, to question the values of society, and to seek meaning and happiness in ways that are true to ourselves. It's a timeless classic that continues to inspire and challenge readers generations after its publication.**瓦尔登湖:对孤独与自然的沉思**在喧嚣的现代生活中,梭罗的《瓦尔登湖》为我们提供了一个宁静而深刻的避世之所。

《瓦尔登湖》读后感英文版

《瓦尔登湖》读后感英文版第一篇:《瓦尔登湖》读后感英文版Walden Henry David Thoreau(1817-1862), the author of Walden, was born in Concord, Massachusetts. When he was a child, he always went to the woods and field with his old brother. So he loves the nature very much.In the middle of 19th century, American economies developed so rapidly that most people pursuit the material life and ignore the spiritual life. But Thoreau wants to live a simple life. Also for the Transcendentalist Movement was centered in Concord and Emerson had a great influence on him.All these made Thoreau go to build a cabin on the shore of Walden Pond and live alone to close to the nature in ter, he wrote the famous book, Walden, which mainly talks about his life and thoughts during he lived alone in the woods near Walden Pond. When Walden was published in 1854, it was not well accepted by people.Instead it was regarded as “wicked and heathenish”.It was published only one time until Thoreau died of disease. But many years later especially in twentieth century, it was gradually known and appreciated by lots of readers all over the world. This is a book which tells in spring Thoreau starts building a cabin in the woods, thinking about life, reading some books, and listening to the sound of nature. In autumn, he cultivates beans, observes Walden Pond.In winter, the Walden Pond freeze, lots of animals accompanies with him.As spring's coming, the Walden and other ponds melt.Every thing in nature is awake and reborn including Thoreau. After two years, Thoreau leaves.Thoreau first writes that most people pursuit their necessary things of life such as fashionable clothes, houses and equipment. They pursuit these things while Thoreaugo to the woods to building a cabin which only costs $28.12, eating simple food and needing little furniture. So one of chapters in his book, “Higher Law", emphasizes more on the spiritual aspect instead of the satisfaction of material.Further more;he urges people to read more classi c literature such as Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey and other great writers’ masterpiece. He also writes that though he lives alone in the woods, he is close to nature and makes himself as a part of nature. He lives alone, but sometimes he also talks with his visitors who are honest, sincere, thinkable and loving their life.Thoreau also mentions that the noise in the town and the whistle of train disturb the quite life of the town. However, in the woods life is quite. When he lives in the woods, he can listen to animals' sounds such as bird's singing, owl’s hooting, cockerel’s crowing etc.He lives with animals friendly. He also describesthe Walden Pond. The water, blue and green, clear and pure, freezes in winter and melts in spring. When I was reading Walden, I felt t hat I was listening to a wise man’s talking. The words and phrases about the nature especially the Walden Pond are beautiful and fascinating. The sentences are full of wisdom and philosophy.Reading this book reminds me of those people who work hard to earn money, waste lots of money to buy luxury and expensive things, waste time to entertain themselves. In my point of view, they may easily lose themselves, and though their bodies are full, their minds are hungry. The real life is to make every complicate thing to be simple and enrich our heart and soul.In a word, just simplicity、simplicity and simplicity! One of Thoreau's thoughts about solitude attracts me deeply for I’m the person who likes to be alone. There are some reasons for why I like to be alone: Firstly I think that living with others iseasy going to have a conflict whatever you are best friends.Secondly just as Thoreau saying ‘a man thinking or working always alone and let him be where he will’.I always spent most of time to study, and I like to make myself busy all the time, so I have little time to stay with others. In addition to, whatI'm thinking and interested in is quite different from others.I like studying at library and reading books but don't like pursuit fashionable and new trend things for it makes me feel tired and bored. So I always live alone and people who around me think I must be lonely.Actually it's not true. They don't understand me at all. When I'm studying, learning or reading, I don't think other things, just immersing in the ocean of knowledge. My heart is quite calm. And if learn new knowledge I got a feeling of happiness, satisfaction and fulfillment. So I was so surprised that what Thoreau said was exactly same to what I thought.I was so glad to find a person who has the same idea with me.When Thoreau lived alone in the woods, people did not understand him, even Emerson thought what he did was wrong. And now, people who around me think my life is not good. But I think Thoreau’s life was successful, meaningful and happy, so do I.Because I think that the success and happiness of life all come from exactly value.Everyone deeply desires of themselves life. When you know what the value of yourself is, meanwhile you can enjoy your life according to the value every time. You will find that everyday you have full of energy and enthusiasm to do anything, hear the sure sound from your heart, and often feel intense achievement, the most important is that your heart is peace and st but not least, I envy Thoreau so much for he lives in such a beautiful and comfortable nature environment. He can breathe the fresh air, livewith wild animal friendly;appreciate the scenery of Walden Pond etc. While in modern society, people pursuit their own interests to hunt and kill animals, cut down trees and pollute the rivers and so on.As a result, the number of wildlife is decreasing, the area of lake is shrinking, and the water is not pure any more. The environment problems such as globe warming, climate change and air and water pollution have been becoming increasingly serious.Reading this book makes me be aware of protecting the environment to realize the harmony between human and nature.Although I may not understand Thoreau's thoughts completely, I’m really benefited from reading the book, Walden.第二篇:瓦尔登湖英文读后感Closing the white cover of the book ’Walden’, I just quite confused because so many new words that I can’t recognize. With the help of Chinese version downloaded from the internet, after I catch the general idea, a burst of cold water pours into my heart, pure and limpid, clarify my shattered mind without any dirt existing. As some said in preface “Walden is a book with loneness and solitude and a book with a single person.” When your mind is uneasy, you have no need reading the book.It requires you to come down and to be at leisure. The book was written in the middle of the 19th century-a period that is a rapid development of capitalism.Under such a background, most people would rather pursue benefits as possible as they can and try every means to obtain higher power and money no matter what it would cost.Industrial civilization and noisy society was gradually corrupting the nature of the humanity. However, at this situation, a illuminati graduating from Harvard University, carried an axe along with his lone single shadow. Then away from the city he ran into the uninhabited Walden at the edge of the mountainforest and settled down over here.He insisted on his own ways with a yearning for nature as well as set out the trace of the soul.At the land of the so-called Walden” drops of god”.He became unperturbed in space, lonely in thought. He quietly uploaded the noise in the city. Then he wrote down the solitude by heart.Every time when people read his book, they definitely will be shocked. He fell into meditating about the life.It made people’s heart become as clear as the pure water.I stand in awe of him, his life turned out to be such simple and meanwhile glamorous. It is rather than momentary but significant. His spiritual world is colorful even exquisite beyond compare.Maybe in the world seldom exist such a sage like him.Throughout Thoreau’s short lifetime, he attempted to encourage people to simplify the life and spare the time to go deep into the real life.At the same time, he let them enjoy it.He told people not to be confused with complicated life by his own experiences. In the direction of Thoreau, they would not lose a flash of hope or lose their way in life. They should be a rudder of the life thus start on a new journey. He thought that if people were able to set the simple life by universe regulation, it would not arouse many anxieties which disturbed the inner peace of the heart. The so-called tomorrow would not approach in spite of the ending of the time.We regarded a flash of light as darkness. As we were sober, the first light of morning was going to break. He calls on people live a simple life that is in order to make people experience something new instead of saving money.Maybe this is the value of a person. There’s not any pretence, only be surrounded with solitude and quietness. At the shore of Walden, the author exactly chased for depth, rather, it was pursuing the depth. In a lonely state of mind, he thought about the life and explored the realmeaning.Solitude inspired his profound thought.“Do not give me love, mo ney or reputation, please give me the truth.” This was what he was calling in his heart.Though we can’t live a life in woods around the mountain and Walden has disappeared forever, it’s impossible to hinder us have a Walden of our own.Our heart need being clarified as Thoreau has said that let your spirit set out to explore.第三篇:瓦尔登湖英文读后感瓦尔登湖英文读后感篇一:瓦尔登湖英文>读后感Read through some of the more than half 瓦尔登湖读后感 英文

瓦尔登湖读后感 英文

瓦尔登湖读后感英文Walden Lake is a timeless classic written by Henry David Thoreau. This book is a reflection of Thoreau's two-year experience living in a cabin near Walden Pond in the 1840s. Thoreau's writing is a blend of philosophy, nature, and personal reflection, which makes it a thought-provoking and inspiring read. The book starts with Thoreau's decision to live in the woods near Walden Pond, where he built a small cabin and lived a simple life. Throughout the book, he shares his thoughts on various topics such as the importance of self-reliance, the beauty of nature, and the meaning of life. Thoreau's writing is full of wisdom and insight, and it challenges the reader to think deeply about their own life and the world around them. One of the most striking aspects of Walden Lake is Thoreau's deep connection to nature. He spends a lot of time observing the natural world around him, and he writes about the beauty and wonder of the woods, the pond, and the animals that inhabit the area. Thoreau's love for nature is contagious, and it inspires the reader to appreciate the natural world and to seek out their own connection to it.Thoreau also delves into the idea of simplicity and self-reliance. He believes that living a simple life, free from the distractions of modern society, is the key to true happiness and fulfillment. Thoreau's words are a reminder to focus on the things that truly matter in life and to let go of the unnecessary clutter that often fills our lives.Another important theme in Walden Lake is the idea of individualism and nonconformity. Thoreau encourages the reader to think for themselves and to not be swayed by the opinions and expectations of others. He believes that each person has their own unique path to follow, and it is important to stay true to oneself and to live authentically.Reading Walden Lake has been a profound and thought-provoking experience for me. Thoreau's writing is timeless, and his words are just as relevant today as they were when he first wrote them. His message of simplicity, self-reliance, and the importance of natureis one that resonates deeply with me, and it has inspired me to reevaluate my own life and priorities. One of the most impactful parts of the book for me was Thoreau's reflections on the beauty of nature. His descriptions of the woods, the pond, and the changing seasons are so vivid and poetic, and they have made me appreciate the natural world in a new way. I have found myself spending more time outdoors, soaking in the beauty of the world around me and feeling a deeper connection to nature.Thoreau's ideas about simplicity and self-reliance have also made a lasting impression on me. In today's fast-paced and consumer-driven society, it is easy to get caught up in the pursuit of material possessions and external validation. Thoreau's words have reminded me of the importance of living a simple and meaningful life, free from unnecessary distractions and focused on the things that truly matter. Finally, Thoreau's message of individualism and nonconformity has encouraged me to think more critically about the world around me and to stay true to my own beliefs and values. It is easy to be influenced by the opinions and expectations of others, but Thoreau's words have reminded me of the importance of staying true to myself and living authentically. In conclusion, Walden Lake is a timeless and thought-provoking book that has had a profound impact on me. Thoreau's words have inspired me to appreciate the beauty of nature, to seek simplicity and self-reliance, and to stay true to my own beliefs and values. This book is a must-read for anyone who is seeking wisdom, inspiration, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.。

瓦尔登湖英语读后感1When Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862) set out for the Walden woods in Massachusetts on Independence Day, 1845, the United States was still a young nation. The book that he published in 1854, Walden, is based upon his experiences as a youth.1845年美国独立日那天,亨利·戴维·梭罗出发前往位于马萨诸塞州的瓦尔登湖畔的树林,那时美国还是一个年轻的国家。

1854年出版的《瓦尔登湖》,便是他基于自己年轻时的经历所著。

The young don’t yet know how to live. They must experience the world and reflect upon their experiences in order to gain knowledge. The same is true of a nation. The book’s status as a classic shows that what Thoreau had to say echoed in the souls of other Americans.年轻人还不懂得如何生活。

为了获取知识,他们必须感受这个世界并反思自身经历。

一个国家也是如此。

这本书的经典之处就在于梭罗书中所言在其他美国人的心中产生了共鸣。

Also for the Transcendentalist Movement was centered in Concord and Emerson had a great influence on him. All these made Thoreau go to build a cabin on the shore of Walden Pond and live alone to close to the nature in 1845. Later, he wrote the famous book, Walden, which mainly talks about his life and thoughts during he lived alone in the woods near Walden Pond. When Walden was published in 1854, it was not well accepted by people. Instead it was regarded as.He also writes that though he lives alone in thewoods, he is close to nature and makes himself as a part of nature. He lives alone, but sometimes he also talks with his visitors who are honest, sincere, thinkable and loving their life.Thoreau also mentions that the noise in the town and the whistle of train disturb the quite life of the town. However, in the woods life is quite. When he lives in the woods, he can listen to animals' sounds such as bird's singing, owl’s hooting, cockerel’s crowing etc. He lives with animals friendly. He also describes the Walden Pond. The water, blue and green, clear and pure, freezes in winter and melts in spring. When I was reading Walden, I felt that I was listening to a wise man’s talking. The words and phrases about the nature especially the Walden Pond are beautiful and fascinating. The sentences are full of wisdom and philosophy.Reading this book reminds me of those people who work hard to earn money, waste lots of money to buy luxury and expensive things, waste time to entertain themselves. In my point of view, they may easily lose themselves, and though theirbodies are full, their minds are hungry. The real life is to make every complicate thing to be simple and enrich our heart and soul. In a word, just simplicity 、simplicity and simplicity! One of Thoreau's thoughts about solitude attracts me deeply for I’m the person who likes to be alone. There are some reasons for why I like to be alone: Firstly I think that living with others is easy going to have a conflict whatever you are best friends. Secondly just as Thoreau saying ‘a man thinking or working always alone and let him be where he will’.I always spent most of time to study, and I like to make myself busy all the time, so I have little time to stay with others. In addition to, whatI'm thinking and interested in is quite different from others. I like studying at library and reading books but don't like pursuit fashionable and new trend things for it makes me feel tired and bored. So I always live alone and people who around me think I must be lonely. Actually it's not true. They don't understand me at all. When I'm studying, learning or reading, I don't think other things, just immersing in the oceanof knowledge .My heart is quite calm. And if learn new knowledge I got a feeling of happiness, satisfaction and fulfillment. So I was so surprised that what Thoreau said was exactly same to what I thought. I was so glad to find a person who has the same idea with me. When Thoreau lived alone in the woods, people did not understand him, even Emerson thought what he did was wrong. And now, people who around me think my life is not good. But I think Thoreau’s life was successful, meaningful and happy, so do I. Because I think that the success and happiness of life all comefrom exactly value. Everyone deeply desires of themselves life. When you know what the value of yourself is, meanwhile you can enjoy your life according to the value every time. You will find that everyday you have full of energy and enthusiasm to do anything, hear the sure sound from your heart, and often feel intense achievement, the most important is that your heart is peace and calm.Last but not least, I envy Thoreau so much for he lives in such a beautiful and comfortable nature environment. He can breathe the fresh air, live withwild animal friendly; appreciate the scenery of Walden Pond etc. While in modern society, people pursuit their own interests to hunt and kill animals, cut down trees and pollute the rivers and so on. As a result, the number of wildlife is decreasing, the area of lake is shrinking, and the water is not pure any more. The environment problems such as globe warming, climate change and air and water pollution have been becoming increasingly serious. Reading this book makes me be aware of protecting the environment to realize the harmony between human and nature. The concept of responsibility is a necessary fiction. Although socitiesmust hold their individuals accountable for their own actions, people's behavior is largely determined by forces not of their own making. On one hand, the highest social animal as human being is, any individual has his specific role in a certain society. And this specific role gives one social identity and individual responsibility through education in schools and influence of ethical and moral standards. Though some times one would feel that thecertain responsibility is obligation from the society and organizations rather than his 'individual responsibility' at first, in most cases, the accountability would presumably become one's own eventually followed by the final identification of his specific social identity, and then direct one's behaviors without the force from the exterior world. For example, a soldier would think it is his duty to obey the rules without any hesitation; a surgeon would consider healing the patients as hisaccountability; and a historian would feel it is his responsibility to discover what is behind the historical descriptions. In fact, different careers and roles form diverse individual responsibilities, which result in individuals’voluntary behaviors. On the other hand, there are not only specific individual responsibilities in diverse areas but also some fundamental values and accountabilities, which we all human beings cherish. From the moment one can speak or even is born, the society begins to instill the moral and ethical standards, which is so called humanity in every one's mind. The older one is, the deeper influencethe humanity would be. When one is just a little child, he would go directly to what he like and claim it. Then when he is old enough, he would realize that it is incorrect and ashamed. And because of the awareness of what is right and wrong, one would probably never do any misdeed again. Actually, humanity is just the common individual responsibility shared by all of us.However, every one lives in a certain society thereby one's behavior is more or less influenced by forces not of their own making. And to operate normally, every society has its laws, though many times have differences among them. It is true that humanity plays an essential role in ruling individuals' behaviors; yet laws are necessary. Under the control of laws, people who have little individual responsibility would probably not dare to do any crime in fear of law punishment. Besides laws, for example in school, rules are also an important factor as well as individual responsibility. Nowadays, in most universities, a student who does not pass some certain courses in his four years college life would not get his diploma of bachelor's degree. So even if a student does not likehis discipline, or dose not care about his GPA, the pressure of graduating forces him not to playing computer or basketball all the time.In addition, individual responsibility and forces from outside world have overlapped parts some times. For instance, studying diligently is some hard- working students' individual responsibility as well as the pressure from schools and society.Generally speaking, it is hasty and incorrect to conclude that the concept of 'individual responsibility' is a necessary fiction. On the contrary, individual responsibility plays an important role which cannot be replaced. However, laws and the exterior force also have their significance as well. Thus we can not put either of them aside and pay more attention to anotherAlthough I may not understand Thoreau's thoughts completely, I’m really benefited from reading the book, Walden.瓦尔登湖英文读后感【2】read through some of the more than half of the "walden pond", to be honest look at a lot of paragraphs do not really understand, butsay it is fun sections of animals that people read fresh.the first animal is the rooster attention, and that the most common birds, however the author's pen in the air all of a sudden and very poor. thoreau is the author described them this way: the rooster, pheasant was originally, and their chirping is the world's most beautiful music, better than all the other animals, but most of the time to fill the gaps in their voice is their wife - the mother chickens are noisy, it's no wonder that they ultimately can only be the poultry, not to mention what kind of a chicken egg. these words can not help people desperately want to remember the music chenming rooster, the result was a loss, except in writing from the mechanical "oo" sound. as for the hen, they can only remember them after the end of each time it is under the "giggle" to stop the called.walden pond, how can there are so many wild animal? every day it seems that the author and not the name they say hello. are familiar with ant, but where the ants are like the soldiers how to ah, make that an ant war was afraid to read the small bio of contempt. lovely fledgling partridge destitute people, they only obeythe instinct of mothers and their own oh, the fullness of their long feathers of the body of small branches and leaves together to maintain the same posture, where to stay motionless, it picked up when a stranger or follow it, it continues to stay as motionless, or take your eyes clean. scary, of course, most diving birds, and it always sent laugh, when it is from this lake first dive, the observer much hunting or after a lot of fun. what it is, you can go to the bottom of the lake to fish in the bird.after all the human animal is, ah, just high-level animals. the author predicted that the result of human progress must be to give up meat, as the savage to the civilized around after people give up bad habits, like eating. i do not know human beings are not one day give up meat, it is very curious about the rabbit call. in the book, the author said: rabbit to the end, the truth was a child cry. on rabbits, the most profound impression that the tree hit a hare, but there is no written record of our had been a poor hunt rabbits.瓦尔登湖英文读后感【3】Walden is a masterpiece written by Henry David Thoreau ,who was born inConcord, Massachusetts. He thought many people of his time lived in a non-human-like modern society and many modern appliances, such as trains and telegraphs, had done harm to people's harmonious life peace and also broken the relationship between human and nature. In order to prove that without the modern instruments , people can also live a happy life, in 1845, he moved into a cabin on the shore of Walden Pond and live there alone for two years to get close to the nature .Walden, is the famous book mainly talks about his life and thoughts during those days living in the woods .Thoreau was so happy with the life living near thelake of Walden that he felt it a sweet grace to have the nature' accompany and even the sounds of rain and the sights around his house were full of sincere friendship. From many words or sentences, we can easily feel Thoreau's deep love and care towards nature.Besides, Thoreau was a pioneering nature lover, who called on people to stop destorying nature but protect it by setting himself an example to others. The consciousness of the environmental protection is becoming more and more important in our modern society, while the whole world is trapped in some serious ecological crisises resulting from hunting and killing animals, cutting down trees and polluting the rivers for pursuit of human beings' own interests. We all havethe common sense that the number of wildlife is decreasing, the area of lake is shrinking, and the water is not clear any more. What's worse, environment problems such as globe warming, climate change and air and water pollution are deteriorating during the commercial process . So it's high time that we should realize we never be the dominator of the whole world conquring nature, but should spare no efforts to improve the environment right away. After reading the book, what impressed me most isthe description of the fascinating scenery around the Walden pound, especially these sentences: "A lake is the landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature. It is earth's eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature. The fluviatile trees next the shore are the slender eyelashes which fringe it, and the wooded hills and cliffs around are its overhanging brows". If Thoreau and Tao Yuanming lived in the same period and place, they would probably becomebest friends. From the book, we know that during the years when Thoreau lived near the Walden, he did not completely isolate himself from the outside world. Sometimes he went to the town and did odd jobs and would receive visitors and friends in his cabin at times. As I mention before, the intention for his living in the woods was that he wanted to teach people how to live a simple life, achieve enjoyment from the nature, free oneself from the strained daily life and what is more important is to reevaluate the value of social life.Thoreau's though of enjoying a simple life has a more realistic significance and have become a valuable spiritual wealth in our modern society. With the development of the material civilization, people's desires are swelling limitlessly and many people are busy with the pursuit of wealth and luxurious life by any means, including at the expense of nature. However, even in the society materially affluent and technologically advanced , people are not be more happier than those people who lived centuries ago, but even feel less satisfactory and complaint more abouttheir present life as a result of having unbounded desires of getting more and better. Therefore, many people who possess a lat have become slaves of machine, working more but do not have the ability to enjoy what they have.In the book Walden, Thoreau had realize this problem several hundreds ago. Thus, he set his mind to give a enlightenment to awake people and encourage them to live a simple life. I sincerely hopemore and more people would like to read this book and receive benefits from it .。

The rivers of many rivers are still drifting through the white belly of the fish. Although many laws now prohibit enterprises from dumping waste water and sewage, the punishment is not enough to make enterprises feel scared, but they still go their own way. There are some businesses in order to meet some people desire to capture the state protected wild animal to sell, once when the pangolin is an animal so common, is now difficult to find traces of them in the mountains, most of them are delicious dishes on the table. Now children even think that pangolin is only the animal in the book.In order to seek economic development and develop natural resources, the forest coverage rate is becoming smaller and smaller, and the clarity of rivers is becoming lower and lower. 《瓦尔登湖》英文读后感

《瓦尔登湖》英文读后感

《瓦尔登湖》英文读后感第一篇:《瓦尔登湖》英文读后感Why you need WaldenWalden, written by Henry David Thoreau, mainly talks about the writer’s life and thoughts;during he lived alone in the woods near Walden Pond. This book belongs to your soul, before you read it, you have to be alone, when you finish it, you may enjoy your loneliness.Reading this book, you will enjoy the journey of the beautiful natural environment around the Walden Pond, you will walk into the woods, you will touch the cool water of the lake with your finger, you will see the autumn leaves floating in measure down to the ground. It’s that simple, it’s the authentic records about a man backing to nature, backing to himself and innocence, backing to basics, and becoming a part of the great universe.Life in Walden isn’t a running away from reality, it is some kind of precipitate about living alone in the natural environment, and it’s a peaceful and quite living status.Reading this book, you will think about the humanity, civilization, society, life, money, death, and yourself. The great thinking of Thoreau isn’t about any kinds of guiding for personal growth or chicken soup for the soul. It’s that simple, just some description about everyday life, and the sound of nature, personal feelings and so on.But when you read it, your soul will feel peace even you stand right in a market full of noise. This book has its magic to make you feel quite and calmness, but the important thing I think, is that we need to find our own Walden in our heart by reading and thinking the simple and deep thoughts in this book.We need strength to be brave to live.We ask these questions everyday——How should we face with our incredible or miserable life? Howshould we deal with the moment that we want to run away from reality? How should we find some nooks in out heart to put our sorrow? That is the answer.“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.I didn’t wish to live what was not life, living is so dear;nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary.I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms.”We deal with every kinds of things everyday, we feel tired, because we get used to make complicated solutions;we feel bored, because we get used to being in a complicated rut.“I do believe in simplicity. It is astonishing as well as sad, how many trivial affairs even the wisest thinks he must attend to in a day;how singular an affair he thinks he must omit. When the mathematician would solve a difficult problem, he first frees the equation of all encumbrances, and reduces it to its simplest terms. So simplify the problem of life, distinguish the necessary and the rea l.Probe the earth to see where your main roots run.“Sometimes we need simple, because simple is the direct way to get the key.The Walden records the writer’s own micro-universe as a whole in the course of experience. This book doesn’t just left us a record of a man lived in the forest, this book provides a way to make us thinking about human and dilemma, nature and social world, the most important, how to keep ourselves in this noisy and complicated world. We all mean to be alone, but it’s not depression, it’s the inner peace inourselves. There is one Walden in the world, and it’s belongs to Thoreau only, but we all looking for our own Walden.“To be awake is to be alive.”第二篇:瓦尔登湖英文读后感Closing the white cover of the book ’Walden’, I just quite confused becau se so many new words that I can’t recognize. With the help of Chinese version downloaded from the internet, after I catch the general idea, a burst of cold water pours into my heart, pure and limpid, clarify my shattered mind without any dirt existing. As so me said in preface “Walden is a book with loneness and solitude and a book with a single person.” When your mind is uneasy, you have no need reading the book.It requires you to come down and to be at leisure. Then away from the city he ran into the uninhabited Walden at the edge of the mountain forest and settled down over here.He insisted on his own ways with a yearning for nature as well as set out the trace of the Afternoon, repeatedly read Thoreau walden, really touched. His words are simple, but his mind is unique. I know that this is a wise old man. I know he age in walden alone, even if die also not "the old man," but he did give me a man only some broad, the feeling of calm and wisdom. He and loneliness, but not depressed. He's so passionately in love with nature, with childish imagination roam and describe the nature. He actively explore the relationship between human and nature, classical firmly maintain the natural ecological. He believes that human beings only in nature can keep their own pure nature. So enthusiastically retells the goddess of the heart -- walden pond, isn't it in each individual heart should retain a shrine?I am very contradictory about Thoreau. My man in that he has a gentle and wise at the same time, the mind will always emerge again such a scene: a lonely child, strolling along the lake or roaming in the forest, don't panic, don't show helpless; Looking at the booming luxuriant growth of all, heart full of joy, it seems that he is also involved in the creation, he can grow up. At ease with itself that makes him peremptory became the king of the forest; However he is not willing to above all things, he just want to be the natural children forever.Yes, he is the child of nature, but this is not a novel twittering and shouted to the world of children. I often caught off guard byhis curiosity and calm. He looked at it quietly, whether the noisy city, or silent trees. He quietly thinking, thinking about the great creativity of human being, also think they just me. He is the honour person of mankind. He with a quiet and pure soul, with a noble and head leaning the vast beings of wisdom. Him at the beginning of the industrial revolution and foresee the present situation of the one thousand two hundred years later, his concern with human, contempt for mankind. He is worried that all good things will be along with the development of the people under the utilitarian purpose and dies, the lake of walden pond will also become a memory. Even memory will fade away, until no longer memory. Before, I thought I could, Thoreau's life. I even try to do that, but I live in a little busy but not is lonely town. I can't get a belong to me, of course it is impossible to have a real landscape, in addition to put on the balcony of tall buildings with various kinds of green plants. In simple term, though I am neutral in life our life pure, but common things in the world can still make me with; I like the wild, but not necessarily can truly idyllic retreat.Thoreau's walden pond as a lover to love. Because love deeply, so do not allow damage; We are living in a civilized society, was simply trying to save with a 15 dream comfort myself. So Thoreau has a unique temperament and the greatness of different from ordinary people.下午,反反复复地读着梭罗的《瓦尔登湖》,真的很感动。

瓦尔登湖英语读后感(一)Thoreau's understanding of life is the sublimation of get along with nature. "Close nature is close to his heart, from the nature, that is, from his mind." The book says. This has to do with people worship of nature in Chinese ancient traditional culture. Love of life is nature, nature is the source of all life, to explore the essence of life cannot leave the feeling of nature.Walden contains some of the Oriental colour, in the lake every bit of life and thought about, I feel that chuang tzu thought of the unity of nature and the nature and the human spirit unifies. Only to abandon worldly distractions, and natural be in harmony are an organic whole, the mind can find a home.Walden lake is plain and simple life, and through the life and reality, he is lenovo and presents the ideas is as deep as zen. Thoreau's belief in the law of the universe forever, he from the existence of the question of fishing instinct; Him from the sound of the winter fox thought whether an animals and human beings have civilization...When all around ordinary become a classic, I think, I can only look up to.As the Buddha says, a flower a world. Subtle things, with the mind to see.Learn to observe, to try and think like Thoreau, keep a curiosity about the world, ordinary become great, deep isbecome shallow, fleeting thoughts become eternal philosophy.梭罗对生活的理解是在与自然的相处中得到升华的。

瓦尔登湖的'英语读后感篇1"Walden" is the American writer Henry. David. Thoreau's creation of a collection of essays, the book recorded in Thoreau Walden when living and feeling what one sees and hears. This book consists of 18 essays, "economic", Thoreau recorded the communication between farmers and farmers, learned that the hard life in the exchanges, not hard and criticized the peasants lived a luxurious life of the rich. In the species bean, Thoreau recorded the process of growing beans, gained the harvest through his own planting, and experienced the joy of labor and harvest from this process. In so many essays, what impressed me most is "brute neighbors", the author describes himself in some animal see Walden when living. They left a footprint of the life in Walden, brings vitality to open peaceful Walden, also from experience to people with self harmony and warm enthusiasm."Walden" shows the beauty of nature to us, in fact, the book of creation, the United States is in agriculture era to the industrial age stage, the rapid development of economy, industrialization to stimulate people to pursue wealth, for money in the exploitation of natural resources fling caution to the winds to destroy nature. Follow all kinds of environmental problems, the natural ecological environment has been seriously polluted, Thoreau want to appeal to people to protect nature through hisadmiration of nature in the pond.In fact, not only in the last century, now industrialization still brought many environmental pollution, we also know that some factories secretly discharge of sewage and waste gas, make clear and clean water to become stinking, dark. Not only to humans, but also to many of the river water for the survival of the animals lost their place to live. But how can man live in harmony with nature? Only when we protect nature can man and nature become more harmonious.瓦尔登湖的英语读后感篇2Closing the white cover of the book ’Walden’, I just quite confused because so many new words that I can’t recognize. 瓦尔登湖的英语读后感篇一Walden is a masterpiece written by Henry David Thoreau (1817⑴862), who was born in Concord, Massachusetts. He thought many people of his time lived in a non-human-like modern society and many modern appliances, such as trains and telegraphs, had done harm to people's harmonious life peace and also broken the relationship between human and nature. In order to prove that without the modern instruments ,people can also live a happy life, in 1845, he moved into a cabin on the shore of Walden Pond and live there alone for two years to get close to the nature .Walden, is the famous book mainly talks about his life and thoughts during those days living in the woods .Thoreau was so happy with the life living near the lake of Walden that he felt it a sweet grace to have the nature' accompany and even the sounds of rain and the sights around his house were full of sincere friendship. From many words or sentences, we can easily feel Thoreau's deep love and care towards nature.Besides, Thoreau was a pioneering nature lover, who called on people to stop destorying nature but protect it by setting himself an example to others. The consciousness of the environmental protection is becoming more and more importantin our modern society, while the whole world is trapped in some serious ecological crisises resulting from hunting and killing animals, cutting down trees and polluting the rivers for pursuit of human beings' own interests. We all have the common sense that the number of wildlife is decreasing, the area of lake is shrinking, and the water is not clear any more. What's worse, environment problems such as globe warming, climate change and air and water pollution are deteriorating during the commercial process . So it's high time that we should realize we never be the dominator of the whole world conquring nature, but should spare no efforts to improve the environment right away. After reading the book, what impressed me most is thedescription of the fascinating scenery around the Walden pound, especially these sentences: "A lake is the landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature. It is earth's eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature. The fluviatile trees next the shore are the slender eyelashes which fringe it, and the wooded hills and cliffs around are its overhanging brows". From the book, we know that during the years when Thoreaulived near the Walden, he did not completely isolate himself from the outside world. Thus, he set his mind to give a enlightenment to awake people and encourage them to live a simple life. I sincerely hope more and more people would like to read this book and receive benefits from it.瓦尔登湖的英语读后感篇二When Henry David Thoreau (1817⑴862) set out for the Walden woods in Massachusetts on Independence Day, 1845, the United States was still a young nation. The book that he published in 1854, Walden, is based upon his experiencesas a youth.1845年美国独立日那天,亨利·戴维·梭罗出发前往位于马萨诸塞州的瓦尔登湖畔的树林,那时美国还是一个年轻的国家。

Our heart need being clarified as Thoreau has said that let your spirit set out to explore. However, every one lives in a certain society thereby one's behavior is more or less influenced by forces not of their own making. So even if a student does not like his discipline, or dose not care about his GPA, the pressure of graduating forces him not to playing computer or basketball all the time.Read over, although I may not live a life just like Thoreau, I’m really calm down and live a simple life. This, I think, is author’s except for.。

瓦尔登湖观后感英语

瓦尔登湖观后感英语

瓦尔登湖:心灵与自然的交响In the still expanse of Walden Pond, Henry David Thoreau found a sanctuary where the soul could commune with nature and find solace in its simplicity. His observations and reflections in "Walden" are not just about the lake or the surrounding woods, but a profound exploration of the human condition and our relationship with the natural world. The beauty of Walden Pond lies in its unaltered state,a testament to the raw, unfiltered essence of nature. Thoreau's decision to build his cabin on its shores was not just an act of rebellion against societal norms, but aquest for a deeper understanding of life's true values. He saw in the lake's tranquility a mirror reflecting the inner stillness that many seek but few find. The author's observations are filled with profound insights into the natural world, from the intricate danceof insects to the subtle shifts in seasonal colors. Hiskeen observation skills and ability to draw parallels between the natural world and human existence give readersa fresh perspective on life. Through his words, we see thatnature is not just a backdrop to our existence but a vital part of our being. What struck me the most about "Walden" is Thoreau's emphasis on the importance of self-reliance and individualism. He argues that society often shackles uswith unnecessary conventions and expectations, robbing usof our true selves. By embracing simplicity and livingclose to nature, he believes, one can reclaim one's true identity and lead a life of meaning and purpose. His arguments are not without flaws, as some may argue that total isolation from society is impractical or even unhealthy. But what "Walden" really teaches us is the value of self-reflection and the quest for a meaningful existence. It encourages us to question the norms and expectationsthat shape our lives and seek a path that resonates withour true selves. In conclusion, "Walden" is not just a book about a lake or the woods surrounding it. It is a profound explorationof the human soul and our relationship with the natural world. Through Thoreau's eyes, we see a world filled with beauty and wisdom, one that encourages us to strip away theclutter of society and embrace the simplicity and purity of nature. His words are a powerful reminder of the value of self-reliance and individualism in shaping a meaningfullife. Walden Pond, in essence, is a mirror reflecting not just the beauty of nature but also the beauty of the human soul.**瓦尔登湖:心灵与自然的交响**瓦尔登湖,这片静谧的水域,对亨利·戴维·梭罗而言,是一个灵魂可以与自然对话、在简单中找到慰藉的圣地。

《瓦尔登湖》英文读书报告笔记读后感

《瓦尔登湖》英文读书报告笔记读后感

《瓦尔登湖》英文读书报告笔记读后感A Book Report on The WaldenI have recently read the abbreviated version of The Walden published by People's Literature Publishing House in 2004. Walden is a collection of essays by American writer Henry David Thoreau, a philosopher, and representative of transcendentalism. This book, together with Tsinghua’s acceptance letter s, wa s sent to Tsinghua’s freshme n in the year by Tsinghua’s President Qiu Yong in 2017.The book was written in the first half of the 19th century. At that time, the United States was in the initial stage of transition from the agricultural era to the industrial age. The booming industry and commerce caused the popularization of the public and the hedonism in the society leading position. Therefore, people's madness, greed, excessive pull and occupation of limited natural resources caused the entire natural ecology to be destroyed and polluted as never before, and the living environment of human beings had become precarious. The Walden consists of 18 essays. In the process of the four seasons of cycle change, it records Thoreau's inner desire, conflict, disappointment and self-adjustment, as well as the complicated mental journey that is renewed after adjustment. Until the final realization. It shows that the author uses it to challenge the boundaries of his individual, even the entire human race. But this kind of challenge is not an infinite hope for realizing self-worth, but an infinite force for recovery after injury. At first, Because it is a prose, I am not interested in reading it. But out of a curiosity (why does Tsinghua’s principal recommend this book to the new students?), I bought it inEnglish on the Internet and tried to read it, and found it to be a very interesting book.I really like the sentence written by the author inside--I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. What’s more, addition to the literary value of The Walden, this book is a model of harmony between men and nature. It contains both the good wishes of people's desire to be close to nature, and the author's criticism of the behavior of people at that time to destroy the ecology. As the author puts it: “Most people, in my opinion, do not care about nature. As long as they can survive, they will sell the natural beauty they enjoy for a rum. Thank God, people can't fly, so they can't ruin the sky like the ruin of the earth. At the end of the sky, we are temporarily safe.”Finally,as far as I am considered, the main purpose of this book is that the author hopes that we can get rid of the interference of material and boring life, return to nature, and go to a kind of "real life." Thoreau lived with Walden for two years and personally verified that people's lives can be simple and happy, and does not require too many accessories. Whether life is comfortable or not depends not on the amount of money or the level of power, but on whether your heart is calm. The author has found his own paradise, Walden. I recommend this book to you, sincerely hoping you can enjoy reading it and eventually finding the paradise in your heart.。

This book belongs to your soul, before you read it, you have to be alone, when you finish it, you may enjoy your loneliness.
Reading this book, you will enjoy the journey of the beautiful natural environment around the Walden Pond, you will walk into the woods, you will touch the cool water of the lake with your finger, you will see the autumn leaves floating in measure down to the ground.
It’s that simple, it’s the authentic records about a man backing to nature, backing to himself and innocence, backing to basics, and becoming a part of the great universe.
Life in Walden isn’t a running away from reality, it is some kind of precipitate about living alone in the natural environment, and it’s a peaceful and quite living status.
Reading this book, you will think about the humanity, civilization, society, life, money, death, and yourself.
The great thinking of Thoreau isn’t about any kinds of guiding for personal growth or chicken soup for the soul. It’s that simple, just some description about everyday life, and the sound of nature, personal feelings and so on. But when you read it, your soul will feel peace even you stand right in a market full of noise. This
book has its magic to make you feel quite and calmness, but the important thing I think, is that we need to find our own Walden in our heart by reading and thinking the simple and deep thoughts in this book.
We need strength to be brave to live. We ask these questions everyday——How should we face with our incredible or miserable life? How should we deal with the moment that we want to run away from reality? How should we find some nooks in out heart to put our sorrow?
That is the answer.
“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I didn’t wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms.”
We deal with every kinds of things everyday, we feel tired, because we get used to make complicated solutions; we feel bored, because we get used to being in a complicated rut.
“I do believe in simplicity. It is astonishing as well as sad,how many trivial affai rs even the wisest thinks he must attend to in a day;how singular an affair he thinks h e must omit. When the mathematician would solve a difficult problem,he first frees t he equation of all encumbrances, and reduces it to its simplest terms. So simplify the
problem of life, distinguish the necessary and the real.Probe the earth to see where yo ur main roots run.“
Sometimes we need simple, because simple is the direct way to get the key.
The Walden records the writer’s own micro-universe as a whole in the course of experience. This book doesn’t just left us a record of a man lived in the forest, this book provides a way to make us thinking about human and dilemma, nature and social world, the most important, how to keep ourselves in this noisy and complicated world.
We all mean to be alone, but it’s not depression, it’s the inner peace in ourselves.
There is one Walden in the world, and it’s belongs to Thoreau only, but we all looking for our own Walden.
“To be awake is to be alive.”。
