1.Q: Could you tell us something about your hometown?

Answer: I come from Nanjing. Located at the eastern part of China, Nanjing is the capital of Jiangsu Province which is developed in economy in China and an important central city on the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Nanjing is very rich in natural and artificial landscapes and one of the first 24 well-known historic and cultural cities announced by the state. Dr. Sun Yat-Sen’s Mausoleum, the Ming Tomb, the King Palace of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, the Qixia Mountain, the Xuanwu Lake and other scenic areas are well-known far and near. I feel so proud of my hometown and wish I can make her more beautiful.

2.Q: Can you introduce your family to us?

Answer: There are three members in my family: my parents and me. My father is a technician in a motor corporation. He often goes out on business. My mother is an excellent teacher and makes much of our family. Climbing at weekends is our common interest. The fresh air and natural beauty can help us get rid of tiredness. They can strengthen our relation, too.

During my preparing for coming here, my parents’ love and support have always been my power and I hope in the near future I will be able to repay them.

3.Q: Do you have any hobbies? Answer: I have a lot of hobbies, such as reading novels,

listening to music, going camping, and climbing the hill, something like these. Music could make me comfortable and calm down to think something over. I like reading books and newspapers which can enrich my knowledge; I like sports which can strengthen my body. I am interested in these hobbies because all of them can do me lots of good.

4.Q: What is your strongest trait?

Answer: I feel that my strongest asset is my ability to stick to things to get them done. I feel a real sense of accomplishment when I finish a job and it turns out just as I’d planned. I have set some high goals for myself. For example, I want to graduate with highest distinction. And even though I had a slow start in my

freshman year, I made up for it by doing an honor’s thesis.

5.Q: Is there anything you regret not having done or would like to have done differently at

college?

Answer: I devoted all my time to my studies, and laid a good, solid foundation of my major area, and that was good. But I think probably it would have been better if I had gotten a little more involved in extracurricular activities.

6.Q: What are your personal weaknesses?

Answer: I’m afraid that I’m a poor talker. I’m not comfortable talking with people whom I have just met for the first time. Sometimes I prefer enjoying music and books to chatting with others. That is not very food for cooperating with partners, so I have been studying public speaking.

7.Q: Why do you want to go to graduate school instead of finding a job?(针针对应届生)

Answer: Well, I make a specialty of history because I like it . During the four years in my university, I became more interested in history and decided to make further investigation on it.

Answer: I have been deeply impressed by the academic atmosphere when I came here last summer. In my opinion, as one of the most famous universities in our country, it provides people with enough room to get further enrichment. This is the most important reason.

Answer: I majored in English at university. During the four years, I’ve read a lot of English books including novels, poems and advertising books. Then I showed great interest in advertising and got to know David Ogilvy, whose theories and ideas on advertising, our seemed a little bit outdated.
