Then,under the effect of electric field in the pn junction, the hole flow from the n zone area to p zone area, and the electronic from the p area to n area. Therefore, if form a loop circuit (circuit showed as Figure 3.1) , the energy generated from the battery in the following lighting circuit , for free electrons haveing to go along the loop back to the positive pole.
The working principle of solar cells based on semiconductor PN junction of the photovoltaic effect. The so-called photovoltaic effect is when the object is affected by light, the charge distribution within the state of the object changes the voltage and current caused by an effect. To understand the operation of solar cells do, we need to consider the material properties and taking into account the properties of sunlight. Two types of materials which can be made into solar cells, are in the usual sense of the P-type silicon and N-type silicon. In the pure silicon crystal, the number of free electrons and holes are equal. If the silicon crystal is doped with boron, aluminum, gallium, indium or other impurities which can capture electrons, then it constitutes a P-type semiconductor. If the silicon surface to release electrons by mixing phosphorus, arsenic, antimony and other impurities, then it constitutes the Ntype semiconductor. If the combination of these two semiconductors, due to the spread of electrons and holes in the transfer would be to form a PN junction surface and in the end both sides of the formation of built-in electric field.
