在服务器领域,电源可谓是重中之重。
在服务器电源方面,主要是SSI规范。
SSI(Server System Infrastructure)规范是Intel联合一些主要的IA架构服务器生产商推出的新型服务器电源规范。
SSI规范的推出是为了规范服务器电源技术,降低开发成本,延长服务器的使用寿命而制定的,主要包括服务器电源规格、背板系统规格、服务器机箱系统规格和散热系统规格。
WTX
WTX is a new Intel?board-set and system form factor developed for the mid-range
workstation market segment. This specification defines the board-set volume, interface
between the board-set and chassis, and required chassis and power supply features. The
specification also provides design suggestions for thermal management and
electromagnetic interference and containment. WTX power supplies come in three wattage
levels - 460-watts, 610-watts and 800-watts. Several manufacturers of Intel?architecture
based workstations collaborated to define the WTX form factor and to incorporate flexibility
to accommodate the best designs for current and future mid-range workstations. The WTX

SSI
An Intel?led initiative called the ssI initiative, is an effort designed to help the industry
develop a common set of server element specifications, and thus lay the groundwork for
future growth in the server market. The initiative is similar to such desktop PC efforts as
ATX and NLX in that it is working to define common packaging elements for the server
market. The power supply specifications associated with this spec are as follows: DPS:

根据使用的环境和规模的不同,SSI规范又可以分为EPS、TPS、MPS、DPS四种子规范。
EPS规范(Entry Power Supply Specification):主要为单电源供电的中低端服务器设计,设计中秉承了ATX电源的基本规格,但在电性能指标上存在一些差异。
它适用于额定功率在300W~400W的电源,独立使用,不用于冗余方式。
后来该规范发展到EPS12V(Version2.0),适用的额定功率达到 450W~650W。

Part of the Intel?ssI Initiative, the EPS ?Entry-Level Power Supply Specification?defines a
common power supply used in entry-level servers. This supply may range typically from
300 to 400 watts and is used in a single configuration. The scope of this document defines
the volume and connector of the supply, without defining the exact wattage capacity. This
allows vendors the flexibility to produce supplies with different feature sets that have
potential applications for a wide range of system vendor platforms. Because of its
connector leads, the entry-level power supply is not intended to be a hot swap type of
power supply. Its?design leverage comes from the ATX style power supply, which defines a
connector allowing the wattage range to be extended from 300 to 400 watts. The size of
this power supply is the same as the ATX power supply - 5.91W x 3.39H x 5.51D inches
(150W X 86H X 140D mm).
TPS规范(Thin Power Supply Specification):具有PFC(功率因数校正)、自动负载电流分配功能。
电源系统最多可以实现4组电源并联冗余工作,由系统提供风扇散热。
TPS电源对热插拔和电流均衡分配要求较高,它可用于N+1冗余工作,有冗余保护功能。

Part of the Intel?ssI Initiative, the TPS 揟hin Power Supply Specification?is intended to
define two types of power supplies for use in low profile servers. This supply may be either
a 180W or a 275W power supply with 6 outputs; 3.3V, 5V, 12V, -12V, 5VSB, and Vbias.
This power factor corrected power supply module is redundant with active load sharing
capabilities and hot swappable. The module accepts an AC input from an external EMI
filter. The power supply docks into a power supply enclosure or system, which contains the
AC EMI filter and power distribution to the system. The supply is intended to operate with
up to 4 modules in parallel. The power supply is intended to operate properly when in
parallel with a different manufacturer抯 power supply. The specification contains
requirements to enable load-sharing compatibility for paralleling different manufacturer抯
power supplies in the same system. The power supply does not need to contain the main
EMI AC input filter. The power supply module has a size of 3.1W x 1.45H x 10D inches
(78.8W x 36.8H x 254D mm).
MPS规范(Midrange Power Supply Specification):这种电源被定义为针对4路以上CPU的高端服务器系统。
MPS电源适用于额定功率在375W~450W的电源,可单独使用,也可冗余使用。
它具有PFC、自动负载电流分配等功能。
采用这种电源元件电压、电流规格设计和半导体、电容、电感等器件工作温度的设计裕量超过 15%。

Part of the Intel?ssI Initiative, the MPS 揗idrange Power Supply?is intended to define two
types of power supplies for use in midrange servers. This specification defines a power
supply that supports mid-range server computer systems. The parameters of this supply
are defined in this specification for open industry use. This specification defines a 375W
and 450W power supply with 5 outputs; 3.3V, 5V, 12V, -12V, and 5VSB. The supply is
redundant with active load sharing capabilities and is hot swappable. The supply is
intended to fit 3 or 4 across within a 19?rack mount system. The supply may be used singly
or in redundant configurations. Thus it has potential use in a very wide range of system
applications. While supplies from different vendors should be compatible with a single
system design, it is not intended that supplies from different vendors be compatible with
other supplies. The size of this power supply is 4.9W x 3.8H x 9.5D inches (125W x 96H x
241D mm).
DPS规范(Distributed Power Supply Specification):电源是单48V直流电压输出的供电系统,提供的最小功率为800W,输出为+48V和+12VSB。
DPS电源采用二次供电方式,输入交流电经过AC-DC转换电路后输出48V直流电,48VDC再经过DC-DC转换电路输出负载需要的+5V、+12V、+3.3V 直流电。
制定这一规范主要是为简化电信用户的供电方式,便于机房供电,使IA服务器电源与电信所采用的电源系统接轨。
DPS
Part of the Intel?ssI Initiative, DPS stands for Distributed Power Supply. This power supply
provides a minimum of 800W at 200-240VAC. The power supply has a main 48VDC output
and a low current 12VSB output. The 12VSB output is always available when AC input
power is applied to the power supply (with the exception of a fault condition that has
opened the AC line fuse(s)). 12VSB is used to power system components (i.e. server
management) that must be available when the system is powered down. The AC input and
DC output connectors are located on the side of the supply opposite the side where the
handle is located. These connectors make contact with the system or power bay when the
power supply is inserted. The power supply is designed to have parallel DC outputs, with
active load sharing. Each power supply contains its own cooling fan(s). The power supply
has a dual rating of 800W minimum over an input range of 180-264VAC and 700W
minimum over an input range of 90-132VAC. The size for this power supply excluding the
connector and handle is 69.5W x 123H x 325D mm.。
