he was willing to take the risk because BP has been slow to deal with the Prudhoe Bay problems and that "many lives are at stake." The situation of the Prudhoe Bay field is worse and in my opinion a lot more dangerous than before. Even through there are a lot of fire and gas warning protection systems, they are not in accordance with Alaska for they are old. And that worries local residents
• Due to crude oil leakage, the marine （ 海上 的[mə'ri:n] ）environment has deteriorated. （恶化） • Besides marine environment, oil leakage do harm to the environment severely. • The frequent oil leakage warn us to think about the causes.

Oil Leakage Occurred in the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil tanker （埃克森公司瓦尔迪兹油轮）spill, a total of 11 million gallons of oil spills, polluted 1,300 miles of coastline, including national forests and three Parts of the national parks 。 During 1995-2001, North Slope oil industry average of 400 times the number of leaks, leak nearly 1.5 million gallons total, direct impact on permafrost ground（地下冻土层）。

• It was discovered by Conoco(康诺克石油公司 ) in 1990 at the Badami Number 1 well. • The Badami pipeline was constructed to connect the field with the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System, more than 30 miles (48 km) away. • It is described as a complex and discontinuous reservoir (['rezəvwɑ:]储液槽)
