Do you agree or disagree with the statement: Nowadays it is not important for people to have regularly family meals together. In the 21st century, there has been dramatic improvement in diverse aspects of people’s lives. However, people are becoming increasingly busy and sometimes are overwhelmed by endless work or study. As a result, less time is devoted into families and people no longer have meals regularly with family members. In my opinion, this is totally mistaken and it is significant for people to eat with family members regularly despite of the change of time. My reasons are as follows. To begin with, for parents, having regular meals with children can promote parental relationship. Due to people’s busy daily schedules, parents and children te nd to have less conversation nowadays. Children spend most of their time learning in school and playing with peers; adults are occupied with their work and socializing with colleagues. The importance of having family meals is ignored. People forget that time spend at the table can be meaningful. For example, parents can discover the problems that their children struggle with. They can provide guidance or inspire children to find out solution by giving them some nice tips. In this way, children can feel the care and love from parents and parents can know about children’s thoughts. It brings mutual benefits. In addition, for couples, having regular meals can strengthen partners’ relationship. Common sense tells us that as time goes by, passion between lovers decreases. The lack of communication can also result in marriage problems or even serious crises. By spending some quality time with our beloved companion at meal table we can listen and understand each other better. Ensuring at least one meal with our part ners a day shows one’s care and how much we value the other person in spite of the busy schedule. Willing to make time for someone is a great way to demonstrate love.Lastly, for children, it is of great significance to have regular meals with our aging parents. Young people today are busy with their own work and personal life and they often neglect the feelings of the elders. Some may give money regularly to the elder instead of going home to accompany them because they think financial means is a good way to show their love and care. However, according to a survey conducted by Beijing Normal University, after polling tens of thousands of old people, the top priority of their wishes is expecting their sons and daughters to go home regularly and have regular meals with them. The survey also indicates that the elders who are regularly accompanied by their family members tend to live longer and happier. All in all, considering the essential role that regular eating with families plays on children, companion and the elder, I insist that it is still of great importance for people to eat with families regularly nowadays.11月08日托福考试写作机经B卷综合写作:独立写作:Do you agree or disagree with the statement: Getting advice from friends who are older than you is more valuable than getting advice from friends of your own age.Everyone needs advice at times, and most people ask their peers for help. However, with age comes a greater variety of life experiences, which give one the wisdom and ability to see things in perspective. Therefore, it is far better to receive advice from friends who are older than you than from peers.First, older friends have more real-world experience, so their advice has greater value. They can indeed give important advice on situations you have not experienced. For example, when deciding what college to attend, my older brother asked his friend in college where he should study. His friend said he should think about the financial aspects, so he suggested finding an inexpensive college where my brother could also get a scholarship. Thanks to his older friend’s advice, my brother could be saved from having a heavy student debt in the future.Additionally, older people have made mistakes, so they can help their younger friends avoid the same ones. It is often best to ask older friends for their opinion before making a big decision. One time, when I had a choice between playing baseball for the summer and going to a camp for three weeks, I asked my older friend for help. He said they play baseball at summer camp and I would be sad if I did not go there. Once in the past, he had decided not to go to camp and had joined a soccer club instead. All of his friends had a great time at camp while he was miserable playing soccer without them. His mistake helped me avoid making one myself. Finally, older friends have more experience dealing with relationships, so they know how to deal with others very well. You can always expect an older person to have a past experience similar to a situation you are experiencing. My girlfriend was mad at me a while ago, but I was too afraid to ask her why. My older friend said that I should ask her directly and that she would tell me if she really liked me. Everything worked out fine thanks to my friend’s advice. Older people definitely know more about relationships than younger people do.All in all, the best advice comes from people older than you because they have more experience, can tell you about what mistakes to avoid, and know more about personal relationships. lf you ever need advice, just ask someone older what to do.。
In today’s fast-paced world, technology has become an integral part of our daily lives, influencing how we communicate with one another. While technological advancements have undeniably improved our ability to connect, they have also brought about significant changes in interpersonal relationships. This essay explores the dual impact of technology on human interaction. On one hand, technology has facilitated communication in ways that were unimaginable just a few decades ago. With the advent of smartphones, social media, and instant messaging apps, we can now connect with friends and family across the globe at any time. This ease of communication allows us to maintain relationships despite geographical distances. Video calls and social networking platforms enable us to share our lives instantly, making it possible to stay in touch with loved ones, participate in virtual gatherings, and even collaborate on projects without being physically present. On the other hand, the pervasive use of technology can lead to a decline in face-to-face interactions. Many people now prefer texting or messaging over having traditional conversations. This shift can result in misunderstandings, as tone and emotion may be lost in written communication. Moreover, excessive reliance on digital communication can lead to feelings of isolation and loneliness, as individuals may substitute online interactions for real-life connections. The art of conversation and non-verbal cues, which are essential for building strong relationships, can be diminished when interactions occur primarily through screens.Furthermore, social media, while connecting people, can also create a false sense of intimacy. Users often curate their online personas, presenting an idealized version of their lives. This can lead to unrealistic expectations in relationships and may cause individuals to feel inadequate when comparing themselves to others. Additionally, the pressure to maintain an active online presence can distract from genuine, meaningful interactions. In conclusion, technology has transformed the way we communicate, offering both opportunities and challenges in interpersonal relationships. While it enables us to connect with others more easily and maintain long-distance relationships, it can also hinder genuine communication and lead to feelings of isolation. Striking a balance between online and face-to-face interactions is crucial for nurturing healthy relationships in this digital age.

2. Irradiation can pre vent food from spoiling.

The physical education should be required to all students.
listening: The man disagrees with it.

托福写作解析:eat healthyThe food we eat today is much healthier than in the past. A/D?该题为2011年01月08日大陆题开头段(略)First and foremost, granted, some critics may argue that, with the higher level of industrialization in recent years, the degree of contamination is improved to a higher level, leading to the environment worse than before, which is disadvantageous toward growing crops. Nonetheless, a closer analysis will reveal that a crucial fact is overlooked in this case. That is, good environment is no guarantee of food quality. The equipment for food preservation was simple and crude several decades ago. Besides, the hygienic conditions for food protection was worse in the past, which means that food at that time is not very healthy. For instance, several decades ago, most people were not able to afford fridge to preserve food. Instead, during that time period, salt was well-recognized as the only effective raw material to prevent food from decaying. Unfortunately, having cure food has already been proved to exert an adverse effect on individuals’ health. In contrast, with the rapid development of science and technology, more advanced equipment and highly developed transportation system promise the freshness of food.Furthermore, nowadays, common people pay more attention to the nutrient value of food than before. With the advent of more nutritionists proposing a well-balanced diet, people are capable of being more healthy and fortifying their bodies againstdiseases. Specifically, many experts who are specialized in food industry today are more likely to recommend individuals to eat organic food, which has been verified to be more nutritious than traditional food. Finally, contemporarily, governments put an increasing amount of budget for universities and institutes to do many forefront researches on food science. Accordingly, many novel types of food are created in the hope of coping with particular health problems. Here’s an example, diabetic food, which contains little or no sugar, is especially designed for diabetics to maintain their health. Without the rapid development of science and technology in recent years, such new kinds of health-conscious food can hardly be invented in the contemporary era.By way of conclusion, weighing the pros and cons thoroughly discussed in the previous paragraphs, the ultimate summary is obvious-food provided in recent years is healthier than that of several decades ago. Eat out or eat at home托福写作题目:Topic:Eat out or eat at home? Some people prefer to eat at food stands or restaurants.
这么大笔财政收入用途广泛,可以从"平衡收支"到"支持公共教育"(from balancing budget to assist public schools);私有公司提供更好的维护(good maintainance)。
而私有公司在这个行业里面(in the industry of maintainance),因此更专业,能提供更好的维护(provide good maintainance);私有公司带来新科技(new technology)。
Infrastructure privatization is not a good idea.政府会失去更多长期投入(lose money in a long term)虽然政府在短期看似可以收到钱,但是长期将无法获利反驳Chicago Skyway的例子: 政府将Chicago Skyway的经营权出让给私有公司99年,可是同时也将"收钱的权利"出让给了私有公司(also lease out the right to collect money)99年。
9月8日新托福写作试题回顾考试日期:2012.09.08Task 1INTEGRAED关于the shape of the head of hammer-shaped sharks阅读材料观点:鲨鱼头部的奇特造型有3个方面的作用1. increase turning speed, 这种造型的头能让鲨鱼转身更快,有实验;2. improve sensitivity to electric field, 这种造型的头让鲨鱼对电场的敏感度更高,来locate preys;3.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? To increase economic growth, the government should ignore environmental concerns. Use specific examples to support your answer.Increasing and developing economic growth is a key focus of many governments. In fulfilling these economic goals, many countries have debated whether or not the environment should be taken into consideration. I believe that in order to sustain a prolonged period of economic growth and development, governments should promote policies of environmental sustainability.A problem that many developed nations face now, is that many of their factories are several decades old and are no longer able to produce at the same rate as newer factories. Not only are their machines outdated and inefficient, but they also require huge amounts of energy and resources. Consequently these factories are not financially or environmentally sustainable. Converting and updating these factories is costly and time consuming, creating a challenge for developed countries who wish to remain competitive in the global market. Therefore, building factories and developing technology that are environmentally sustainable from this start is in the better interest of the long-term success of an economy. Even though the initial costs might be higher than building a traditional, non-environmentally friendly factory, in the long run it is better business to implement environmental policies now than later. Not only would the government enforcing eco-friendly regulations promote the financial sustainability of the national industry, but it would also create more overall stability in other sectors of economy. When governments neglect to enforceenvironmental regulations on industries and businesses, pollution and other environmental hazards increase and negatively affect the overall health of the population. A factory that dumps toxic waste into the surrounding regions main water supply will cause disease and other health defects of the hundreds of thousands of citizens living in the area. As a result, the local and national healthcare system is burdened with a large percentage of patients with serious health issues, stretching the resources and funding of a very expensive social program. If the government had enforced one simple law, it would not have to spend millions of dollars in healthcare and it could have spent the money on further developing the economy. In addition, economists all agree that green energy and green technology is a burgeoning market that has not yet been tapped by many developed countries, such as the US. A developing country that wants to gain a competitive edge in the global economy would be wise to get ahead of the competition and invest before the other developed countries come to their senses. Governments who want to give their countries a competitive edge should not ignore environmental sustainability. While developing an economy and industry based on environmental principles can be slower and initially more expensive than the traditional and unsustainable method of industrial development, in the long run a government who enforcesenvironmental sustainability will establish a financially sustainable economy, a healthier and more stable social structure, and a more innovative and competitive economy.
(Pink Lake Hillier)
Soil beneath the water and the angle of vision
Nahcolite
Algae
Nowadays people are more than willing to help the people who they don’t know (For example, giving food and clothes to the people who need them) than they were in the past.
As society develops and civilization moves forward, one would expect to see more and more acts of kindness between strangers. We would all like to think that people are growing more compassionate as humanity advances. However, this is not the reality we live in. Compared to the past, I think today’s people are less willing to hel p people they don’t know.
Firstly, more and more people live in big cities nowadays. Big cities train us to stop seeing others as human beings. We encounter hundreds of people just taking the subway in the morning to work or school. Most of them just fade into the background. Others may stand out as obstacles: the person who doesn’t let you pass on the escalator, or the beggar who asks you for money every time you’re walking home tired from work. Most of the time we are desensitized to those around us. As a result, fewer and fewer people are willing to help strangers. Secondly, people have to work harder for less money nowadays, so they’re much less willing to part with their hard-earned cash. For one thing, there’s the recent economic recession—a lot of people were recently laid off their jobs. Those that could find jobs often had to settle for menial work outside of their preferred fields. So when people struggling to make ends meet are asked to help others, they may react negatively. In fact, I often see people lashing out at beggars on the streets. “I earned my money. Go work for yours!” This type of harsh mentality probably stems from the financial difficulties people have been facing lately. Granted, sometimes people today do demonstrate kindness towards others. However, this is only really prevalent in smaller communities where people are more familiar with each other. For instance, the other day, I forgot to bring my wallet while grocery shopping, and the owner of the store told me I could just pay her back later. I am a regular customer at the store; if I were a stranger, I wouldn’t have gotten the same treatment, since no store owner would trust a complete stranger to pay them back later.
