My family and I went on an epic road trip to visit some of the most incredible tourist spots and historical sites around the country. I had so much fun learning about all the cool places we went to. The canyon is 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and over a mile deep in some parts. My mind was blown by how massive and beautiful it is. We went hiking along the rim trail and the views were just breathtaking. The colors of the rocks were so vibrant – oranges, reds, pinks and purples all blended together. It kind of looked like a gigantic layered cake!We also went camping for a couple nights in the park. Sleeping under all those bright stars in the clear night sky was amazing. Our guide taught us about the canyon's geology and Native American history. Did you know the Grand Canyon is over 2 billion years old? That's almost half the age of the planet! The Ancestral Puebloans were some of the first people to live there,building homes along the rims and in the caves. I'm glad we got to learn so much about this natural wonder.Next, we headed to New Mexico to explore some archaeological sites. In Chaco Canyon, we saw incredible ruins of pueblos and great houses built by the Ancestral Puebloans over a thousand years ago. The biggest one we saw was called Pueblo Bonito – it used to be a huge apartment-style home with over 600 rooms! The structures were made of stacked stone and some of the walls still stand over 4 stories tall. It's mind-blowing that they built all that without any modern tools or technology.We also visited the Gila Cliff Dwellings in a New Mexico forest. These ancient rooms, built into the high cliffs by the Mogollon people, looked like ancient apartment buildings stacked on top of each other. To get up to the dwellings, we had to hike a trail and climb up wooden ladders – it was a little scary but really cool! Inside the caves were carved out rooms for living, cooking, storage, and even a circular ceremonial room. Our guide told us the Mogollons lived there from the 1270s to the early 1300s before abandoning the cliff dwellings for unknown reasons. I felt like an archaeologist exploring those mysterious ruins.From there, we continued east to see some iconic American monuments and memorials in Washington D.C. At the National Mall, we walked along the Reflecting Pool looking at the incredible sights. The Lincoln Memorial with the giant statue of President Abraham Lincoln was so impressive. His famous words from the Gettysburg Address are inscribed inside – it gave me goosebumps to read them.We also visited the powerful Vietnam Veterans Memorial, a long black granite wall with the names of over 58,000 American soldiers who died or went missing in the Vietnam War. The views from up in the air were breathtaking. We flew over volcanic mountains, waterfalls, rain forests, and even an active volcano! The crater looked scary with red hot lava bubbling inside. The helicopter pilot said the lava can get over 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit. No way could I ever get that close on foot. Seeing it from the safety of the helicopter was incredible enough.We also went on a boat tour around the Napali Coast, which is on another part of the island with huge green cliffs towering high above the Pacific Ocean. Our boat captain said there are no roads at all over there, just a few hiking trails through the wilderness. Some of the cliffs looked over 4,000 feet high! I couldn't imagine trying to climb up something so massively tall. Our captain also took us into some sea caves along the base of the cliffs. The openings looked tiny from the outside, but once you went through, the caves opened up with cathedral-like ceilings and echoes. It was such a cool experience.My favorite activity though was definitely swimming with the manta rays one night. These are huge rays that are about 12 feet across, but they're very gentle. We took a small boat out into the ocean after sunset, and then got into the water wearing life jackets with special lights attached. The lights attracted plankton, which is what the manta rays eat. Within minutes, about 8 or 9 of these massive rays just glided right up to us, doing backflips and barrel rolls under the water. A few even went right over our heads! It was magical seeing these giants up close. They looked like alien spaceships moving through an cosmic ocean. I'll never forget that incredible night.Every day in Hawaii was packed with adrenaline and adventure. We seriously did something new and exciting from sun up to sun down. I got to experience so many things I'd only seen on TV or read about in books before. In the daytime, the air was so stuffy and the sun was so hot, so my friends and I decided to take a rest in the hotel. When the sun almost got down, we started to go on the street, the first thing was to find something to eat.

I am going to Beijing. Although I haven’t set out, I have made my travel plan. There are five days for me to travel. But I only have three days to have a good look of Beijing, because the first and the last day I have to spend on the transportation. The first day, I will start early to Guangzhou by bus and then take the plane for 1:00pm. Then I can be Beijing about 4:00pm. Then I will take the subway to my aunt’s home. After a whole night rest, I will go to climb the Great Wall the second day. The third day, I will visit Tian An Men, the Imperial Palace and the Summer Palace. In the evening, I will visit national stadium. The fourth day I will visit some old town in Beijing and eat some local food. The fifth day, I have to go back home. This is my plan.
