E.g. Tom is one of the most lively boys in our class.

“one of+可数名词复数”作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式

3.seem unhappy 为系表结构,意为“看起来不高兴”,unhappy为形容词。seem后除了可以佳形容词构成系表结构外,还有一下常见的用法:

seem to do sth. 看起来/似乎做某事eg. He seems to know the truth.

It seems/ed +that (as if)看起来……,看样子……

Eg.It seems that they know what they are doing.

It always seemed as if they would get married.

4. lonely孤独的,寂寞的。Alone 与lonely比较:alone既可作副词也可作形容词,常在句中作表语和状语,说明客观存在。lonely形容词,常在句中作表语、定语,侧重人的心理。

5. because of 因为,由于,介词短语,后跟名词或相当于名词的短语。because后跟状语从句。重点语法---系动词

(1)状态系动词只有be一词,表示主语状态、性质、特征。

He is a teacher. They are at home.

(2) 持续系动词,用来表示主语继续或保持一种状况或态度,注意有keep, stay, remain等He always keeps silent. We must stay happy.

(3)表象系动词,用来表示“看起来像”这一概念,主要有seem, appear, look等。

He looks tired. It seems terrible.

(4)感官系动词,主要有feel, smell, sound, taste等。

It smells very sweet. It tastes delicious.

(5)变化系动词,表示主语变什么样,有become, get, turn, go, grow“变得”

The weather gets warmer and warmer.

总结:系动词本身有词义,但不能单独用作谓语,后边必须跟表语(多为形容词),构成系表结构说明主语的状况、性质、特征等情况。
