富兰克林传读后感(英文)

Many people have read the American classic inspirational book——“ Benjamin Franklin”. But as the saying goes, “1000 readers,there are 1000 Hamlets”. Everyone reading the book feels differently.

Mr. Franklin’s life was so simple and fragrant. It has an irresistible temptation to immerse myself in itand to make myself return to peace. Reading carefully, the gentle old man speaks to you in anunpretentious language. The syntax is simple, and the words are accurate and vivid. He represents a kind of spirit, a generation of people and a pursuit of the world.

Benjamin Franklin was born in a poor family. Because of his family poverty he dropped out to a small shop and then worked as apprentice at his brother's printing plant at the age of 12. When he was 20 years old, he had owned a printing house in Philadelphia. During 20 years he always lived a hard life. Although his life was very bitter, the strong thirsty for knowledge and enthusiasm let him try his best to squeeze out time and money to achieve the dream of reading. He used one-fourth board wages of ordinary workers to maintain the simplest life with the least amount of money to do the most work. Furthermore, he regarded reading as his only greatest amusement in his life.

As a result, he was fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish and Latin and familiar with history, geography, politics, economy and technology. Diligence and honesty have made a great statesman, scientists and industrialist. As Jefferson said, Benjamin Franklin was the greatest and

most outstanding man in his time and country.

He not only realized his original dream, but also brought happiness to mankind. He participated in the drafting of the Declaration of Independence facilitatingthe conclusion of the French-American alliance, broughttrivial convenience for the people around him, made a reasonable recommendation for colleagues and founded the University of Pennsylvania. In aChinese saying, Mr. Franklin was not in his benefits but in his righteousness.With wonderful portrayal of life and long philosophy, Benjamin Franklin became the common idolof the world.He let me know how to make decisions, to stay away from the narrow and to refuse mediocrity. Besides, I should find my own spiritual core and explore the real taste of life.
