It was an evening of December. After the first snow, it was much colder. So in the street people

hurried to go home. Nobody noticed a boy without wearing shoes. He was about 9 years old. He was standing in front of a shoe store and looking through the window. At that time, a woman stopped and asked what he was looking at. “I’m asking God to give me a pair of shoes.” the boy said.

After hearing this, the woman took him into the store. She asked for some hot water and washed the boy’s little feet. Then she bought a pair of new socks and new shoes for him. When he put them on, the kind woman asked, “My little boy, do you feel more comfortable now?”

The boy looked up in her face. He asked, “Are you God’s wife?” “No, I’m a mother.” the woman smiled.

Make-A-Wish is one of the world’s most famous charities. It helps the childr en with serious illness. It tries to help them realize their wishes. Luke is one of the lucky kids. He is 4 years old. Sometimes, he had to stay in hospital by himself. But Luke still dreamed about going on a “Mickey Boat”. Finally, Luke got the chance and spent six days on the Mickey Boat in Disneyland. He met all the Disney characters there. Luke was so excited on the trip. It brought hope back into his life. Now Luke feels well! A wish experience can truly change a child’s life. It can give them hope and joy.
