There are many things that should not happen in life, and unfortunately, some of them do happen. One example is when people are unfairly treated or discriminated against. This should not happen, but unfortunately, it does.I remember a time when I witnessed a coworker being unfairly treated by our boss. My coworker, who was a person of color, was consistently given less important tasks and was overlooked for promotions, while other employees, who were white, were given better opportunities. This was a clear case of discrimination, and it should not have happened. It was unfair and unjust, and it left a lasting impact on my coworker's morale and confidence.Another example of something that should not happen is when people are taken advantage of or exploited. I once heard a story of a friend who was tricked into signing acontract that ended up costing them a lot of money. This kind of deceitful behavior should not happen, but unfortunately, it does.

1Something That Should Not Have HappenedIt was a sunny Saturday morning and I was really excited because my best friend Sam was coming over to spend the night. We had been looking forward to this sleepover for weeks. Mom said we could set up a tent in the backyard and camp out if we wanted. How cool is that?Sam arrived around 10am carrying his sleeping bag and pillow. After he put his stuff in my room, we went outside to set up the tent. It took a little while because the instructions didn't make much sense. But finally we had it all set up and arranged our sleeping bags and snacks inside. We were pretty proud of ourselves."Let's go exploring in the woods behind your house," Sam suggested. That sounded like fun to me. We knew we weren't supposed to go too far, but the woods right behind my backyard always felt so adventurous. We wandered around, checking out cool trees, rocks, mushrooms, and anything else interesting we could find. After about a half hour, Sam pointed up ahead. "What's that?" he asked. I looked where he was pointing but didn't see anything at first. Then I noticed something shiny, like metal sticking up from the ground."I don't know, let's check it out," I said, instantly curious. We made our way over to the shiny object and gasped when we realized what it was. It appeared to be an old metal box, about the size of a small microwave, partially buried in the dirt with just the top edge sticking out."Woah, what is that thing?" Sam asked in an awed voice. We both knelt down and brushed aside some of the leaves and dirt covering it. The box looked really old and rusty."Maybe it's buried treasure!" I said excitedly. We found a rock and used it to scrape more dirt off the top of the box, revealing a latch."Let's open it!" Sam said eagerly. I had a weird feeling we shouldn't, but the curiosity was too much. I flipped open the latch and slowly lifted the lid open. The sight that greeted us immediately made my heart drop into my stomach. Inside the box were bundles of something wrapped in plastic bags. They looked like...no, it couldn't be..."Dude, is that drugs?" Sam whispered in shock. There was no mistaking the smell wafting out of the open box. I had learned about marijuana and what it looks and smells like from the DARE program at school. This was definitely it."Oh man, we need to get out of here!" I said in a panicked voice, quickly closing the lid back up.That's when we heard a deep voice growl from behind us. "Well, well, what do we have here?"I froze in pure terror as Sam and I slowly turned around. Standing there was a huge mean-looking guy wearing dirty clothes and a scowl on his face. He looked angry...and dangerous. This was not good at all."You punks better not have messed with my stash," he snarled, taking a few steps towards us. "Nobody touches my stuff and gets away with it."Sam and I were trembling as we backed away, shaking our heads rapidly. "N-no sir! We didn't take anything, we swear!" Sam pleaded. The guy kept advancing on us, clenching his fists menacingly. "You little brats better not be lying to me. That's a good way to get hurt real bad."Tears were streaming down my face at this point as we stumbled backwards, utterly terrified. I couldn't believe this was happening. All we wanted was to have a fun sleepover in the backyard.Suddenly, a loud voice bellowed from the trees. "HEY! Get away from those kids right now!"It was my dad, running towards us with an enraged look on his face. Seeing a huge scary stranger threatening his son must have sent him into a protective fury. The guy took one look at my dad rushing at him and instantly turned and bolted in the other direction, disappearing into the dense woods. My dad reached us a moment later and pulled us both into a tight hug."Are you boys okay? Did he hurt you?" my dad asked urgently, looking us over with frantic eyes.Through my gasping sobs, I managed to tell my dad about finding the box with the drugs inside. His face turned pale when he realized what we had stumbled onto. Luckily the police werealready on their way, as a neighbor had seen the suspicious man lurking in the woods and called them.About ten minutes later, several police cars came screaming up our street with lights flashing. Officers jumped out and dad quickly led them to where the buried box was. After securing the area, they carefully opened the box and confirmed it contained a huge stash of marijuana. The police searched the nearby woods relentlessly but never found the man who had confronted us. A metal detector was brought in to sweep the area for any other buried boxes, but none were discovered. The box Sam and I had found must have been a random drug stash that a dealer had buried and forgotten about. In the end, Sam's parents came and got him while my family gave statements to the police about everything that had happened. The terrifying incident put an abrupt end to our sleepover plans. But we were just incredibly thankful nothing worse had occurred when that scary man showed up. We realized how badly that situation could have gone.Mom and dad had a long talk with us about the dangers of drugs and why it's so important to steer clear of anything like that. They were proud of us for doing the right thing and tellingdad the truth right away instead of trying to cover it up. But they also stressed how lucky we were that my dad had shown up when he did before things maybe turned violent. From now on, we vowed to stay far away from those woods behind my house. Who knows what other disturbing surprises could be lurking out there? A fun backyard campout was supposed to be the biggest adventure of our weekend. Instead, we got mixed up in something dangerous that could have ended in tragedy. It was a harsh lesson in making smart choices and avoiding trouble at all costs. Some things are better off never being discovered.篇2Here's an English essay of approximately 2,000 words written from a fourth-grade student's perspective, titled "An Event That Should Not Have Happened":An Event That Should Not Have HappenedI still remember that fateful day like it was yesterday. It was a bright and sunny afternoon, and my friends and I were playing in the school playground during recess. We were having so much fun, laughing and running around without a care in the world.Little did we know that our carefree playtime was about to take a dark turn.As we were chasing each other around the swing set, I noticed a group of older boys walking towards us. They were known for being bullies, and I immediately felt a sense of unease. My friends and I tried to ignore them and continue our game, but they seemed determined to cause trouble. One of the bullies, whose name I won't mention, approached us with a smirk on his face. He started taunting us, calling us names and making fun of the way we looked. We tried to walk away, but he wouldn't leave us alone. Instead, he pushed one of my friends to the ground, causing him to scrape his knee.At that moment, something inside me snapped. I couldn't stand by and watch my friend get hurt. Without thinking, I stepped forward and pushed the bully back, telling him to leave us alone. He stumbled backward, looking shocked and angry. Before I knew it, the other bullies joined in, and a full-blown fight broke out. Punches were thrown, and we were all rolling on the ground, trying to defend ourselves. It was chaos, and I felt scared and helpless.Suddenly, we heard a loud whistle, and the school principal came running over. He quickly separated us and demanded an explanation. We all tried to explain our side of the story, but it was clear that we had crossed a line. The principal called our parents, and we were all sent home for the day. When my mom arrived, she was furious. She couldn't believe that I had gotten into a fight at school. I tried to explain what had happened, but she wouldn't listen. She grounded me for a week and told me that violence was never the answer. As I sat in my room that night, I couldn't help but feel guilty and ashamed. I knew that I had made a mistake by resorting to violence, even if it was in defense of my friend. The whole situation could have been avoided if we had just walked away or reported the bullies to a teacher. From that day on, I vowed to never let my emotions get the better of me again. I learned that there are always better ways to handle conflicts and bullying, without resorting to violence. If I could go back in time, I would have handled the situation differently, by seeking help from an adult or trying to resolve the issue peacefully. In retrospect, the fight that day was an event that should not have happened. It only led to more harm and consequences foreveryone involved. As I grew older, I realized that violence only breeds more violence, and that true strength lies in our ability to resolve conflicts through communication, empathy, and understanding. That day taught me a valuable lesson about the importance of conflict resolution and the consequences of our actions. It's a reminder that we should always strive to handle difficult situations with wisdom and restraint, rather than letting our emotions take over.篇3An Event That Should Not Have HappenedI can't believe what happened last week at school. It was something that never should have occurred, and I'm still struggling to make sense of it all. I guess I'll just start from the beginning. It was a regular Thursday morning. I woke up, got dressed, ate my breakfast, and my mom drove me to Franklin Elementary like she does every day. When I arrived, I met up with my best friend Jacob on the playground before the bell rang. We were talking and joking around like usual. Then the bell rang at 8:30am and we lined up with our class by the door to go inside. Our teacher, Mrs. Wilson, came out to walk us into the building. But then something highly unusual happened. Mrs. Wilson wasn't alone - the principal, Mr. Roberts, was with her. He looked very serious and concerned."Good morning students," Mr. Roberts announced in a solemn voice. "I'm afraid I have some very upsetting news to share with all of you."He paused for a moment before continuing. "Last night...there was a break-in at our school. Some individuals broke in and vandalized several classrooms, including yours."I couldn't believe what I was hearing. A break-in? At our school? Who would do something like that? I felt scared and confused.Mr. Roberts went on to explain that the police had been called and they were investigating, but extensive damage had been done. Desks and chairs were overturned, books were thrown all over, and inflammatory words and symbols had been spray painted on the walls. He said for our safety, we would be having class in the auditorium for the time being until the damage could be repaired. The whole class was in shock as we followed Mrs. Wilson silently into the building and up to the auditorium. I looked around at my classmates and some were visibly upset and crying.I felt tears welling up in my own eyes too. Our classroom was our second home, and the idea that someone had invaded and disrespected that space was devastating.Over the next few days, more details about the break-in emerged. Apparently, it was a group of older students from another school district who were responsible. They had broken in after midnight and deliberately targeted several classrooms, including ours. The horrible words they spray painted had been racist and discriminatory in nature. At a school assembly, Mr. Roberts reiterated that racism, prejudice, and hatred would not be tolerated at Franklin Elementary under any circumstances. He said the school would be increasing security measures and cameras would be installed. Counselors were also made available to any students struggling with the events.I just couldn't wrap my head around why someone would do this. To deliberately try to make others feel inferior, scared and violated because of their race or background. It was anunacceptable and disgusting act that never should have taken place. It took about a month for the damage to be fully repaired, cleaned up, and new security cameras installed. When we were finally able to move back into our classroom, it felt like a weight had been lifted. But there was still a lingering uneasiness and sadness over what had occurred.Mrs. Wilson had us go around the room and share our thoughts and feelings about what happened. Most of us expressed anger at the perpetrators and frustration that our safe space had been violated. At the same time, there was a sense of resolve and resilience. We wouldn't let this act of hatred and intolerance defeat our spirit or change who we are.In the end, though the vandalism and break-in was an event that never should have happened, it brought our class and school community closer together. We overcame the hatred with more compassion, empathy and unity. It's a lesson I'll never forget about the importance of standing against prejudice and injustice in all its forms. Hate can never be allowed to win.。

Title: An Incident That Shouldn't Have HappenedOne sunny afternoon, I was playing in the park with my best friend, Tom. We were chasing each other, laughing and having fun. Suddenly, I saw a beautiful butterfly flying nearby and I couldn't resist the urge to catch it.As I chased the butterfly, I didn't notice that I had run into the middle of a flowerbed. Before I knew it, I had tripped and fallen, knocking over a pot of flowers. The pot broke into pieces and the flowers spilled out onto the ground.I was shocked and embarrassed. I knew I had done something wrong. I looked around and saw that no one had noticed what had happened, so I quickly picked up the flowers and tried to put them back into the broken pot.But it was no use. The pot was too broken and the flowers were too damaged. I knew I couldn't fix what I had done.I felt terrible. I knew I had caused trouble and I should have been more careful. I decided to tell someone about what had happened and take responsibility for my actions.I went to the park keeper and explained what had happened. He was understanding and told me that it was okay, but I should be more careful next time. This incident taught me a valuable lesson: always be aware of my surroundings and be careful not to cause any trouble. I regretted what I had done and would never forget this lesson.
