• Surgical therapy: thrombectomy in extremities and aortoiliac embolism,
• laprotomy in visceral embolism.

Clinical feature
• The symptoms and signs are different with different site of embolism,usually onset suddenly with ‘5p’(pain, pallor, parethsia, paralysis and pulselessness)
Differentiation
• Arterial thrombosis • Aortic dissection • Deep venous thrombosis • Others
Treatment
• salvage the limbs and their functions, even to save the life of patient.
Clinical feature
• Upper extremity • Visceral: abdominal pain • Aortoiliac: more severe with high motality • Femoral • Popliteal
Examination
• Ultrosonography: • arteriography
ARTERIAL EMBOLISM
Definition
• Blood clot or others blocking the blood flow in the peripheral arteries. The heart is the main source of the emboli, especially in the patients with atrial fibrillation and /or rheumatic heart disease.
• laprotomy in visceral embolism.
