Ci Qikou

Haven't you get tired of strolling around the traditional streets in Chongqing? Never mind. Let's go to Ci Qikou, crowed as "Mini Chongqing", and experience the rich ancientry of "a flagging, on which builds a thousand-year Ci Qikou."

Different from many ancient towns, the Ci Qikou ancient town is situated in the urban district of Chongqing. Lots of tea shops, manual workshops, snack bars and stores stand alongside the narrow streets. And these shops are always selling simple and ancient handicrafts and traditional snacks like spun sugar, sugar figurine, etc. On the centuries-old town, your taste bud will get very excited by the authentic chicken giblets, thin sheets of bean curd filling the streets, and Chen Mahua (fried dough twists). Who can deny that cozy feeling?

W alking along the old streets towards the end in this ancient town, you will be embraced by the mild wind from the rivers. Standing besides the Jialing River, you watch the boats going back and forth on the broad river channels as if they would never stop. Then you appreciate the teacup and take a sip of the fragrant fresh tea. Time really stands still for Ci Qikou.
