The past decade has witnessed a more and more fierce competition in the job market.Consequently ,students voice growing concern over how to get a job after graduation. To this problem, in my mind, there are at least the following three approaches.

First of all, the main approach is to take part in grand recruiting fairs in big cities. The student hands in their resume and waits for the notice of an interview. Secondly, the students can go over the advertisements on newspapers, TV or the Internet to find a satisfactory job. Of course they should also wait for a reply after sending out applications. Finally, going directly to an ideal company is a brave behavior, which is pretty rare among the job hunters.

Personally, I would like to choose the second method in my own practice. On the one hand, I don't want to have a try at those companies which are not advertised in the mass media. The success rate is so rare that I cannot afford the time and energy. On the other hand, I would not like to go to those crowded recruiting fairs, which often provide only

poorly-paid posts which are neither challenging nor promising. As long as I am sure of making sufficient preparations and distinguishing myself during interviews, it is out of question for me to get the ideal job which I have been dreaming of.

Every day we hear about people making radical career changes. The (12)opportunity exist, but will all these changes make us any happier once we get there? Following are four (13)available steps towards coming to terms with why you do what you're doing.

First, realize that your job does not (14)define you, but how you do it does. Any job can be done well, done with (15)passion, done with care. Second, stop (16)focusing on the money. Money will never be enough to stop using it. Seeing where your money is really going can help you to refocus your (17)spending towards the things you really want. Getting paid is only one small part of what you do; your work has to be more than just a paycheck to be (18)fulfilling. Third, find the (19)significance in what you do. This may require you to think big, but it can be done. Take some time to really think about what you do. (20)Prospective place and huge roles are personal sense in well-being. Try to remember why you took the job in the first place. Fourth, dare to ask yourself if it's worth it. Maybe all that's needed is some refocusing. Learn to say "no". (21)As much as you can choose the things you spend your time on,don‘t atten d

events or meetings only because everyone expects it.

Take a look at your life. How would you describe it? Contented? Rushed? Exciting? Stressful? Moving forward? Holding back? For many of us it's all of the above at times. (22)There are things we dream of doing one day, there are things we wish we could forget. What would your life look like if you could start over with a clean slate?

Unit 1 Outside View Activity 2 Activity 3 Script Eugene: The tradition that er, was most important to me was probably Summer Eights. I was a rower. And Summer Eights is a rowing competition, held in May in the summer term. And in this competition, each college is trying to improve its place which it won the previous year and gradually work its way up the river. Julie: When the students take exams, they must go to a special building and it’s called Examination Schools. And also they must wear a special uniform, so they wear a gown like mine, a black gown, and they wear a white shirt, and the men wear a white tie and black trousers. Um, the women wear a white shirt and a black skirt or black trousers. And they must wear this uniform, which has a Latin name –subfusc–and they must wear this uniform in order to take their examinations. Eugene: I think the Oxford traditions lend character to the place, and it’s such an old institution, it should have traditions, but they can be very inconvenient, for example, subfusc. This is the er, uniform that we are required according to the university rules to wear. Julie: They also wear flowers in their buttonholes, and those flowers are carnations. And they wear different colours, the students wear different coloured flowers for different examinations. So when you take your first exam you wear a white flower, and when you take your second exam you wear a pink flower, and when you take your final examination you wear a red carnation. Eugene: So we have to dress up in a full black suit, starched collar, white bow tie and carry a mortarboard. And to write an exam in the summer heat whilst wearing all that which you’re not allowed to take off, is um, uncomfortable. Julie: I really like the Oxford traditions, I think it’s part of our history, and part of um, being a student or a teacher here at Oxford University. News Report Activity 1 Script Oxford University has seen a rise in the number of applications from state school students thanks to Harry Potter. The university says that teenagers who have followed Harry’s adventures at Hogwarts are no longer discouraged by Oxford’s traditions because they remind them of scenes in
