Finning, as it is called, means cutting the fins off a live shark。In fact shark fin But please have a look how selfish we are has very little nutritional value , it is just shark’s cartilage (软骨).
We know so little about shark……

whale shark(鲸鲨)is the most biggest animal in the world. They can Reach lengths of up to 50 feet, This gentle giant has small teeth like whale baleen. But they feed on plankton（浮游生物），and they always swim extremely slow…. So You can deal safely with them. ..they never want to bite you .
sharks have been around for about 400 million years. They are important for the world’s environment. Sharks are often thought of as cold-blooded killers that prey on humans. However, they are really hardly bite people, The shark may mistake a person standing or floating in water for natural prey. The shark goes in for the kill but, after one taste, usually gives up the attack. The chances of being attacked by a shark are very small, In fact, every year a person was killed by shark less than 5 .a person is 30 times more likely to be killed by lightning than by a shark. Dog bites are 1,000 times more common than shark bites. They are incredibly shy animals. It is very hard to approach a white shark.
Image someone thinks that your ear is yummy(美味的） and slice your ear off and then throw you into the sea to bleed to death. What is your feeling??????

Hammerhead shark (锤头鲨）
They have great hammerheads , and they may as long as 4.5 meters, Hammerhead shark are aggressive hunters, feeding on smaller fish, octopuses(章 鱼）, squid（乌贼 ）, and crustaceans(甲壳类动物）. They do not actively attack people 。
To help shark what can we do??????
And in Costa Rica(哥斯达黎加) Saving sharks means saving ourselves
So many people are helping shark on earth .I am very delighted with it. I hope everyone do your best to protect sharks. they need our help so much. we should refuse to eat shark fin. And when your relatives or friends want to eat shark fin, stop that as best as you can. Shark will bless you…………………..

Sharks are in danger
Sharks are fished for their fins and Shark-fin soup is a popular food in some areas. As many as hundreds of million sharks caught each year, most of the time just to get the fins for making shark fin soup. Shark was cruelly killed all around the world. I have a serious problem with shark fin soup. Fishermen slice (切下)the fin off the shark and toss the creature back into the water to die. This happens to millions of sharks around the world, and some of those shark populations are endangered.
White shake(大白鲨）
Best known from the movie Jaws, the great white is a large, heavybodied shark, about 20 feet long, with large bladelike teeth. Widely the most-feared of sharks, great white attacks are rare.
