This test case book describes how the important requirements given in the specifica-tion shall be tested.

5.1Compatibility
This document is a directive for the development of CD, DVD
and BD devices. The drive supplier shall fulfil the requirements
in the specification and validate them by an OEM-certified me-
dia drive test house. Requirements, which are currently not
supported by any drive, are marked in the document by the
words “Target Requirement".

5.2Basic Functions
5.2.1Loading and unloading media

ML_29_A The CDs/DVDs are inserted/ejected through a directly accessi-
ble slot.

The user handling time for inserting the media is not a part of
this requirement. During the defined insert time the drive shall
permanently try to load the disc.

(minimum 100 tracks if available). None of the tracks stored in
the stack-memory are allowed to be played twice. If there are

except the last track played. If the stack memory is full, it shall
be deleted except for the last five tracks.

plicability.
