教学目标:
1. Let students know the related information about the Internet posts about life in the future.
2. Students can know how to use related expressions to describe life in the future.
3. Develop the reading ability by designing a post to describe the life in the future.
4. The students can use the expressions and the useful sentence structures freely.
教学重点:
1.How to make the ss get interested in the content of the text.
2.Let students know how to use the words and expressions to talk about daily life in the future.
3.The students can use the expressions and the useful sentence structures freely.
教学难点:1. To master some usages of some useful expressions and develop an ability of how to get a further understanding of the text.
2. Know how to use the important phrases and expressions to make a sentence.教学准备:PPT, Blackboard教学步骤:
I. Pre-reading Presentation
1. Freely talk: what do you know about….?
Show some questions to them to discuss: what will life be like in the future?
Hotel: houses: cars: communication…….
2. Culture corner: At the 2010 Shanghai Expo, countries around the world displayed their dreams of future cities. Learn some information about what life will be like in the future.
3. Work in groups, Talk about the sentences about the future and the present. And discuss the following questions about what life will be like in the future?
4. Tell them they are going to read an article about Life in the future. Introduce some new words before their reading. The teacher helps the students when they have trouble in reading the new words and ask group work to remember the new words
II. While-reading Procedure
1)Fast reading: Ss try to read the first sentence of each paragraph in the article on page 51 and have Ss try to tick (√) the descriptions that match the pictures.
2) Detail reading: Read the article and find out the correct answers to Exercise C1.
3) Read the article and write the correct answers to complete the sentences to Exercise C2.
4) Learn the useful expressions in the passage:
5) Read the article again and finish Exercise D1and D2.
III. Post-task Activity
More practice: Be more familiar with the whole passage and try to retell the story by using the new words and phrases.

2.To catch the main idea when listening
教学难点: Learn to make apology and give excuses.

教学步骤:
I. Culture corner: Show the ss the information about Shanghai Expo,and read the culture corner about shanghai Expo: Dream inspires future cities
II. Do the listening
1) Tell some skills to guess the answer
2) Play the listening materials, stop when necessary
3) Read the tips and the background of the listening part.
4) Have a quick look of A part and try to guess the answers to the blanks by looking through the whole passage.
5) Listen to the tape and try to finish the exercise of B
III. Speaking
1)Read the dialogue and get understanding of the dialogue and answer the questions. Help them
get the main idea of the dialogue
2)Discuss the things we usually complain about? Make a sample dialogue about making
apol ogies and giving excuses: break the window; hit the dog; run away…
3)Discuss to list the plans of a trip to the moon. And then write down the steps.
4)Organize the discussion and give them some tips to speak:
What objects / how / what activity.
We need to pre pare…because…
5)Know how to take notes when doing the listening and know how to talk about apologies and excuses.

教学难点: When writing the passage, students should know how to express their opinions life in the past and present

教学步骤:
I.Talk time
Talk about the ways people live in 1940.Show the pictures in 1940 and then let them to describe the life in the past.
II. Discussion
1. Ask them to read an Internet post and help them to get known through a chart.
2. Present some sides of the life to them and ask them choose one to talk. The way people wash clothes, the way people go to school, the way people buy things…
III. Writing
1.Write a passage according to their preparation and remind students to pay attention to their
handwriting.
2.Encourage them to write after the example t o train the students’ writing ability.
3.Check and show time. Check the writing with each other and show the better one to the class.
4.Finish the writing exercise.

I. Grammar
1.learn the basic rules of the past continuous tense
2.Present the sentences and help them to summary the different forms of the past continuous
tense.
3.Giving out a learning sheet to tell them the basic forms of the past continuous tense.
4.Giving out a learning sheet to tell them the using situation of the tense: we can talk about two
actions happening at the same time and invite two ss to act for the class to describe.
II. More practice

2.Work in pairs: Do more practice and competition on the right answers when finishing the
exercises in it
