单元整体教学分析:
本单元以art为主题,主要介绍西方绘画简史,曼哈顿最好的艺术长廊,帮助学生了解更多的有关美术的背景知识,分析中西艺术史上各大流派的特点,指出其代表性的画家和作品,并对中西方的绘画艺术进行了比较。
Warming up 部分要求学生运用相关目标语言对自己喜欢的艺术形式和流派展开讨论。
Pre-reading 让学生讨论有关画展或书中的艺术作品以及西方不同时期的著名画家。
Reading 介绍了西方绘画简史、不同的艺术流派、艺术特点及有代表性的画家和作品。
Comprehending 主要设计来帮助学生理解课文,并进行相关的进一步讨论。
Learning about language 着重语言的学习,包括词汇学习和语法学习。
同时,也是另一种方式的语言输入,增强学生的表达能力,并且进一步加深学生对艺术的理解。
Using language 由reading、listening、speaking和writing组成,让学生了解画廊、展馆等艺术展示途径,认识其重要性和价值。
最后,促使学生利用写的方式反映自己对艺术的关切,促进英语表达能力的发展。
Workbook着重介绍中国绘画方面的知识,同时隐含着与西方绘画的比较。
教材处理建议:

教学设计及步骤:
Period 1:W arming up & pre-reading
1.Talk about the defination of art.
2.Let students brainstorm the forms of art.
3.Focus on two styles of painting: realistic painting is about something real (real people, real
things); impressionist painting is hard to understand for ordinary people. The paintings are full of shapes and colours.
4.Let students enjoy the famous paintings. Ask them questions like:
Is it a typical Chinese painting?
Which one do you prefer?
What is the theme of the painting?
5.Speaking: Which picture do you like best. Why? (theme; style; features)
Turn to page 1, learn the words in the box and prepare for the speech.
Period 2 Reading
1.Lead-in
If you were asked to write an article about the history of western painting, how do you develop your passage?
