In the past two decades, the Chinese economy has undergone many reforms in an effort to compete more effectively on the international market. These reforms included allowing foreign hanks to offer credit cards to Chinese citizens, Now, researchers at the University of Missouri (MU)have found about 30 percent of Chinese urban households now own at least one credit card and the growth rate of credit card adoption has been an average of 40 percent per year between 2004 and 2009.
Rui Yao, an assistant professor of personal financial planning at MU, says that this large growth in such a small amount of time has positive and negative implications for the Chinese economy.
"With more and more people taking advantage of credit cards in China, it certainly increases potential consumer buying power," Yao said."However, we found that more than 90 percent of credit card users were unaware of safety issues existing in credit card use and more than 60 percent had little knowledge of the consequences of credit card debt. This lack of knowledge could create problems as credit card ownership is expected to grow at a rate of 11 percent a year. "
Yao found that while 72 percent of Chinese credit card holders were never late on their payment, only 55 percent were able to pay the full balance. She also found that 70 percent of Clones credit card holders said that credit cards contributed to overspending.
Yao believes the Chinese could benefit from financial education designed to help them plan for their financial future and encouraging the Chinese to take advantage of debt in a responsible fashion is important for the Chinese economy."Appropriate use of debt can help households improve their quality of life as well as spur economic growth through an increase in market purchases." Yao said.

B.To respond to the urgent demand for financial reforms.

Modern living is resulting in more people becoming disconnected from the natural world,at the expense of our health and well—being.
Most concern is centred around children, who are missing out on opportunities afforded to previous generations, ones as simple as climbing trees or getting their knees dirty.
In the modern world, the adults of the future are displaying the symptoms of “nature-deficit(缺少)disorder”.The term was made up by Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods.
In the introduction to his book,he said that over the past few decades the way children understood and experienced nature had“ changed greatly”.“Today, kids are aware of the global threats to the environment—but their physical contact, their intimacy(亲密)with nature, is fading. That’s exactly the opposite of how it was when I was a child,”said Mr.Louv.He admitted that nature-deficit disorder was “by no means a medical diagnosis”.
Tim Gill, author of the report Sowing the Seeds: Reconnecting London’s Children with Nature, agreed that the term does not have any meaningful clinical basis.“My idea is that regular contact with nature is part of a balanced diet of childhood experiences. If children do not have those experiences then they are not going to thrive to the same degree as if they did, ” Tim Gill added, “They are also likely to grow up not caring about the world around them. ”
“Forest schools”are a type of outdoor education in which children visit forests, learning social and living skills. They are intended to offer children regular opportunities to develop confidence and independence through hands-on learning in a woodland environment. They have appeared to have a beneficial effect on children with emotional or behavioural problems.
Play England is an organization that focuses on giving children access to free play areas.“We believe that kids should be outside playing for a good proportion of the day because it is how they can stay happy, less stressed and healthy,”said Play England director Cath Prisk.
However, she added:“Research showed that parents think taking their kids to the park is something you do as a rare treat instead of something you do routinely. ”65.As a child,Richard Louv______.
A.was fond of writing medical books B.spent a lot of time playing in the open air
C.read a lot of books about nature D.was curious about wildlife 66.When children with nature—deficit disorder grow up,they will probably______.A.suffer from a mental disease B.be confident and independent C.ignore the surrounding world D.have bad social skills
67.What is a child not likely to learn in “Forest schools”?
A.Cooking. B.Putting up a tent.
C.Making friends. D.Writing.
68.The underlined word “routinely"in the last paragraph can be replaced by“______”A.regularly B.properly C.hardly D.casually

Anyone who’s heard the story of the three little pigs might have some reservations about the use of wood as a building material.
But architects and engineers are reusing wood as a quick and eco-friendly solution to modern construction--and not just for pioneer—style log cabins.
The recent completion of an eight—storey wooden office block in Austria and a nine-storey housing block in London shows how the “wooden buildin g”is fast becoming a reality. The LCT One building is a building made from both wood and concrete and designed by Austrian architectural firm Cree.
Cree claims that building the glulam(胶合层木)elements of the building off-site in advance cuts construction time by half, guarantees quality and reduces the buildings carbon footprint.Concrete gives off nearly its own weight in carbon dioxide as it’s produced;the raw material for wooden skyscrapers,by contrast, literally grows on trees and absorbs carbon from the air as it does so.
Nabih Tahan,an architect, said:“We want t o make buildings like car companies make cars,or computer companies make computers, using an industrial process and a system’s approach. To get good performance out of buildings, you ca n’t keep making them wildly piece by piece on site, cutting things in the rain. You need to design them right and have a step-by-step organized process."
British architects Waugh Thistleton calculated that they avoided producing nearly l25 tons of carbon dioxide in building what is so far the world’s tallest modern wood structure, the nine-storey Stadthaus building.
Architects are now competing to build everhigher, evergreener wooden buildings.Already construction has begun on a 10-floor residential block made from LCT in Melbourne, Australia. However, building regulations threaten to nip the growth of wooden structures in the bud.
Many countries restrict the maximum height of wooden buildings. In Russia the limit is just four floors, in Canada it’s six, while in the U.S. and China it’s a mere five.
69.Why is the wooden building becoming popular?
A.Because it has building materials prepared in advance.
B.Because it doesn’t need concrete any more.
C.Because it has the style of pioneers’ log cabins.
D. Because it is environmentally friendly
70.According to Nabih Tahan,making buildings .
A.adopts a way of the production line B.needs the help of the computer Companies C.is a performance of architects on site D.has to cut things piece by piece 71.The underlined word “nip"in the passage may mean“________"
A.prevent B.promote C.achieve D.maintain
72.What’s the main idea of the passage?
A.Concrete is used less in modern skyscrapers.
B.Wooden building materials have greater strength.
C.New wooden buildings promise eco—friendly buildings.
D.More wood is used in buildings to save time.
D
Energy is a balance between food and physical activity. The energy from the food
we eat is influenced by the amount and type of food we choose. The energy we give
out is determined by how physically active we are. Overweight is a result of imbalance between the energy we are eating and the energy we are giving out. In NSW one third
of adults are now considered to be overweight.
Physical activity guidelines can help us balance our energy. Being physically active
does not mean that you have to be training to be an athlete. It is exercising at a moderate level for 40-60 minutes on most days. By moderate, we mean at a level that
you can still talk to someone while exercising, but not easily.
One key to improving our fitness is to see activity as an opportunity, rather than
an inconvenience. Often it is the little changes through the day that can add up to improve our health. Some suggestions might be:
·spend some time gardening
·play outdoors with the kids
·take the dog around the block
·park your car a little further away
·avoid driving to the local shop
Sometimes planning our time also helps us to stay more active. It is often easy to
use the excuse that we are too busy to find the time to exercise. We do not need to
do the activity all at one time. Make use of the 10 minutes after lunch, the 5 minutes
while the children are not arguing, or the 3 minutes while the dinner is cooking!
It may help to draw up a weekl y schedule of your family’s activities to find time
when you can do physically active things together. Often if we are with someone else
it doesn’t seem so difficult to keep motivated(有积极性的).
73. The underlined word “moderate” in paragraph 2 probably means“ ”.
A. average
B. higher
C. standard
D. lower
74. Which of the following is NOT true according to the passage?
A. Playing football with children can help balance your energy.
B. Making plans for exercise is beneficial to your health.
C. Making full use of pieces of time to exercise can be a good choice.
D. Taking exercise means to train like an athlete.
75. The aim of this passage is to________.
A. tell people how to keep fit by physical activity
B. tell people why overweight comes into being
C. explain why physical activity is so important
D. explain the relationship between energy and food
第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。
选项中有两项为多余选项。
If you have ever been in a school play or even made believe you were a doctor, detective, or a space traveler, you know the enjoyment that acting brings. Almost all of us have the wish to play the part of someone—or something—else. 76
In the ancient world, acting was often associated with religious ceremonies and other special occasions. As far back as 2200 B.C. trained Chinese actors performed ceremonial dances in costume and makeup at harvest festivals. 77 To the dance was gradually added pantomime—the imitation of movements and gestures—as well as the wearing of masks, the singing of chants, and finally the use of dialogue. While acting was coming into its own in the ancient Chinese classical theatre, it was doing the same in the western world, in Greece. From about 500 B.C. on, acting became a highly specialized art in Greece. Greek actors, however, still wore masks, and their motions were largely fixed by custom. 78
Modern acting, by contrast, gives the individual actor great opportunity to develop his or her personal talents for serious, comic, or musical drama. The names, faces, and styles of famous movie actors are known worldwide. 79 A special form of acting takes place in radio drama, which was highly popular before television. In radio drama the actors face an unique challenge. They are unseen by their audience. So they must rely on voice alone to make their characters real to the listeners.
80 Only forty percent of Broadway actors are employed, most of them for only part of the year. Those who become stars need not only talent, but determination. They must not be easily discouraged. Otherwise, they might give up before the opportunity for stardom presents itself.
A. The origins of acting are in the act of remembering.
B. Drama in Greece began with festivals honoring Dionysus.
C. It is believed that this was the first step in the development of acting.
D. Historical records indicate that this desire is as old as civilization itself.
E. Acting is not, as many people think, a quick, easy road to fame and riches.
F. Broadway and television provide other stages on which actors can display their talent.
G. Consequently, they had little opportunity to demonstrate their individual personalities.

Dear Jim,
I am glad to hear that you are coming to travel in China. It is important for you,
a foreigner, to keep the following in mind to make your journeys smooth and enjoyable. For railway journeys, we have to buy real-name tickets, in which basic personal information is included. So a foreigner is supposed to use the passport. You can get your ticket in three ways. First, you can book on the phone. Search online or consult the locals for the number. Second, visit the official website to buy tickets online. Finally, you can also go to a nearby booking office or choose ground service at the railway station.
I hope this information can be of great help to you. Wish you a wonderful trip in China. (115 words)

W: Yes, OK.
