Abstract:【Objective】To explore the role of video electroencephalogram in the diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of viral encephalitis in children.【Methods】Sixty children with viral encephalitis treated in our hospital from February 2017 to February 2019 were selected as the research objects. Video electroencephalogram was detected within 24 hours after admission. Video electroencephalogram was detected again two weeks after treatment, and the results before and after treatment were recorded and analyzed. 【Results】 After treatment, 42(70%) and 18(30.00%) children were mainly affected by diffuse theta wave and sigma wave. Before treatment, 20(33.33%) and 5(8.33%) children were mainly affected by diffuse theta wave and sigma wave, respectively. There was a significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). After treatment, the incidence of epileptic discharge was lower than before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】 Video electroencephalogram detection is of great value in the diagnosis of viral encephalitis in children, and has a certain reference value for the treatment effect and prognosis evaluation.
