1.Learn and master the key words, phrases

passage about recycling;
3.Know how to reuse some waste in our daily life and toprotect the environment by doing
small things.

1.To master the usage of the new words, phrases;
2. To make the students have the good habit of recycling;
3. To train the students’ reading skills.

Step 1: Greeting
Step 2: Warming up
Present the new words and get students read them three times after teacher.
Then, show two objectives of this class.
Enjoy some cute and beautiful pictures about the reusing of waste bottles and cans.

Step3: Lead in
Do you often throw away things you don ’ t need anymore? Now, do you want to make some lovely things like this ? If we put our waste things to good use, it will bring happiness to us.--Have a free talk
At the same time, show the art pieces made from plastic bottles and cans.

Step4: Presentation (Reading)
Today, we will learn some stories about recycling.
Predicting
Look at the title and the pictures in 2b. What the passage is about?

It is about how people can think of creative(创建性的 ) ways to use things that are no longer wanted.

Skimming
1.How many people are mentioned in the passage? Who are they?
2.Find out the main idea of each paragraph.
Tips: The topic sentence is usually at the beginning and at the end of each paragraph.

Careful Reading
Task 1: Read the passage and complete the chart below in 2b. Then check the answers. At the same time learn some new words.(pull down, bottle)
Task 2: Read Para.2 and answer two questions.
1.Did Amy Hayes win a prize? Where was it from?
2.Where did her windows and doors come from?
Task 3: Read Para.3 and answer three questions.
1.Is Jessica Wong good at recycling? What does she do?

3.What will she write in her book?
Task 4: Read Para.4 and answer.
What does Wang Tao hope to set up? Why?

Post reading
Activity 2c: Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the phrases in the box in2c.
First, translate the phrases. Then, let students find these phrases in the passage and underline them. And read paragraph 2 to finish 1 to 3, read paragraph 3 to finish- 5,4 and the last paragraph is 6.
