A rare butterfly has been discovered in Britain for the first time in 60 years, having moved from Eastern Europe. The only previous record of a wild yellow-legged Tortoiseshell in Britain was in 1953,when it was seen just once in Sevenoaks,Kent.Several weeks ago, there were already four confirmed sightings, along the East coast in Norfolk,Suffolk and Kent, and six further reports of the butterfly in coastal areas. Conservationists are very excited about the sightings, which are rare in the butterfly world.
The butterflies are thought to have flown on easterly winds across Europe in the last few weeks. The large and colourful insect mainly lives in Eastern Europe. In recent years,it has spread into Scandinavia and its number increases rapidly during warm weather. Also known as the Scarce Tortoiseshell,it has an orange and blue colour and is about one third bigger than our own Small Tortoiseshell.
Butterfly Conservation was starting its annual Big Butterfly Count,a yearly survey of the butterflies across the nation.Sir David Attenborough,President of the charity, said,“The UK is a nation of amateur naturalists and we have a proud tradition of celebrating and studying our wildlife.By taking part in the Big Butterfly Count this summer, you can contribute to discovering the fantastic butterflies and other wildlife that share your garden, parks and countryside.”He added,“Butterflies fought back last year after a terrible 2012 but despite this, butterfly numbers were still below average.Three quarters of the UK’s butterflies are in decline and one third are in danger of dying out. This is bad news for the UK’s birds, bees, bats and other wildlife.25.These rare butterflies usually live in______.

My family moved around a lot when I was growing up.In 2nd grade,I lived here in washington D.C,where.I made an amazing group of friends.I was upset when my parents told me we were moving again and I would have to leave all my best friends behind. In 7th grade.we moved back to Washington D.C.And I could not have been more excited and I felt like I was finally home again. But things had changed. There were two new girls, who decided that they didn’t like me,which meant no one else could, not even all my former best friends.
And then one day during school,I opened my locker, only to find a note lying on the floor. The note said:Die.Nobody likes you.
My heart started beating faster and I felt the blood rushing to my face.I had no idea what to do.The note wasn’t signed and I had no idea who had written it,but I figured the new girls were behind it.I had to sit in class all day with my head down, wondering who else knew about this shame.I felt horrible and sure that nothing would ever be good again.
I decided that the perfect way to end all of this was with another note, left on the bathroom mirror at school.
It’s sad for someone to bully(欺负)other classmates to make themselves feel better or look cool.Bullying others is a way to impress others. It’s common, but that doesn’t mean it's okay.Looking cool is not worth making others feel bad.Obviously I’m very happy now,but it doesn’t mean I’11 ever forget about that note or how it made me feel. And to those of you that are current victims of bullying—know that you are NOT alone. It will get better.I promise.

Families should not waste their money on organic food, the government has warned. They should instead spend their money on whatever they can afford, even if it means eating frozen vegetables. The government now faces calls to end£20 million of subsidies to organic farming.
A recent study in the British Journal of Nutrition found organic crops have up to
60 percent more antioxidants(抗氧化物)than non-organic crops. But critics claim there is still no evidence that organic food is a healthier option.Amid growing concern that too few people are eating enough fruit and vegetables, the government is at pains to stress that families should not waste their money on organic food.Just 30 percent of people meet the recommendation to eat five or more portions of fruit and vegetables a day.
Government frontbencher(前座议员)Baroness Jolly said,“Organic products provide a useful extension of consumer choice, but it is worth emphasizing that, nutritionally, they are no better and no worse than conventional products. The only benefit of organic farming was enjoyed by birds, insects, mammals and plants.”“It is up to the consumers to decide how they spend their money on their fruit and vegetables. There are many reasons why an individual might wish to choose organic products but nutritional benefit should not be one of them,”she added.
Chief Executive Helen Browning said,“We know that people choose organic food because they believe it is better for them, also well as for wildlife, animal welfare and the environment, and this research backs up what people think about organic food.”33.The government is encouraging people to______________.
A.eat more fruit and vegetables B.do more research on food
C.pay attention to their health D.protect the environment

Parents decide how much time their children can spend using modern technology. But Sandra Calvert, director of the Children’s Digital Media Center at Georgetown University, says it’s all around us.
“ 39 Just as it's a worry that there may be too much screen time, there is also a concern that our children will be left behind if they don’t know how to use the technologies that are going to shape the 21 st century careers, jobs and how we are going to succeed as a nation.”
Children between the ages of four and 15 use tools and machines at so-called“maker spaces”in Beijing. The maker space basically serves as an open-access workshop.40 The young people are part of the so-called“maker movement,”a do-it-yourself community connecting people who like to make things with their hands.

One possible version:
Dear Sir/Madam,
I’m Li Hua, a Chinese student taking part in the exchange program in your university. I’m writing to ask for an early leave. I have been here for half a year, but I have some difficulties in adapting myself to life here, especially the daily diet. Besides, the major I’m learning here didn’t go well as expected. I even can’t understand what the teachers said in class. All mentioned above set off my homesickness and put me in low spirits. Thus, after months of frustration, I eventually decided to end this program ahead of schedule and go back to my home.
Looking forward to your reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
