1) Read the part of Topic Discussion on Page 12 2) Ask students to tell stories related to their own names 3) Further discussion: If permitted, what other names would you like to have? Do you believe a person’s name can reveal kind of culture? Give examples.

Problems with our English study
The students talk about the problems they encounter in the study of oral English. The teacher gives advice based on his/her own learning and knowing.
Tips on Giving good talks: public speaking (P63)

1. Look at your audience. 2. Know the pacing（速度定位） and inflection（音 调变化） you want to use. 3. Keep your shoulders straight but in a comfortable way either you’re in a standing or sitting position. 4. If there’s a microphone in front of you, adjust it to the right height, or ask a technician to do it, rather than forcing yourself to stoop like a heron.
