Class ring
West Point began the collegiate tradition of the class ring, beginning with the class of 1835. Prior to 1917, cadets can design much of the ring individually, but now only the center stone can be individualized.

The school is the oldest military academy of the United States. It was once hornored one of the World Four Military Academies, accompanied by Britain's Royal Military Academy Sandhurst , Russia Frunze Military Academy and France Special Military School of St Cyr.

Introduction
The United States Military Academy, also called west point, is known as "the Cradle of American Army Officer". Once it was the army's military fortress. Because it is located in north of New York's Hudson River west orange county west town, so it is also called the "West Point" or "West".

West Point is home to the Sylvanus Thayer Award. Given annually by the academy since 1958, the award honors an outstanding citizen whose service and accomplishments in the national interest exemplify the academy's motto, "Duty, Honor, Country".
