这是一个主语从句。

主语从句中缺少表语。

从上句的意思分析，应是哪本书，所以要填which，这句话的意思是：“我在某本书中读到过有关这方面的内容，是哪一本书重要吗？”
6.in other words =that is to say换句话说，也就是说，即（在句中用作插入成分）
in a/one word总之；简言之
in word （口头上）经常和in deed ,连用，比如：true in word and result in deed 言必信，行必果。

in words（用言语来表达）是表面上，用言语等等意思
word by word 逐字逐句地；按词序排列
word for word和word by word的区别！
使用背景不一样？
by 逐字的。

（只有一篇文章）for 逐字对照的（有两套文章）

keep one's word守信；遵守诺言（keep word是遵守诺言的意思，作诺言时为不可数，不能用复数形式leave word 也一样，word 在这里是消息的意思，这种表示抽象的意思都是不可数的，只有在表示“单词”的时候才是可数）break one's word失信，食言eat one's word收回说过的话,不守诺言，承认错误

7. More than的用法
● A. "More than+名词"表示"多于……"、"不仅仅……"如:
1) Modern science is more than a large amount of information. 现代科学不仅仅是大量的信息。

2) Jason is more than a lecturer; he is a writer, too.
● B. "More than+数词"含"以上"或"不止"之意,如:
3) I have known David for more than 20 years.
4) Let's carry out the test with more than the sample copy.
● C. "M ore than+形容词"等于"很"或"非常"的意思,如:
5) In doing scientific experiments, one must be more than careful with the instruments.
6) I am more than glad to help you.
● D. 在"More...than..."中,肯定"more"后面的而否定"than"后面的, "与其说……不如说……"如:
7) Hearing the loud noise, the boy was more surprised than frightened.
● E. "More than"或"More...than..."+含"can"的分句时表示"否定意",如:
8) That's more than I can do.
9) Don't bite off more than you can chew. 不要咬下你嘴里嚼不下的食物。

意义:贪多嚼不烂。

10) In delivering his lecture, Jason makes sure not to include more things than the students can understand.
● F. "No more...than..."表示"不……;不如……",如:
14) I can no more do that than anyone else.
15) A learner can no more obtain knowledge without reading than a farmer can get good harvest without ploughing."
"No more…...than..."的语义,也可用"not any more than..."来取代,因此15 可以变成16。

16) A learner cannot... any more than ..."同样的, 17可以变成18:
17) Dr Hu is no more a poet than Dr Wu is a philosopher.
18) Dr Hu is not a poet any more than Dr Wu is a philosopher.
此外,"more than"也在一些惯用语中出现,如:
19) More often than not (经常),people tend to pay attention to what they can take rather than what they can
give.
20) All of us are more than a little concerned about(非常关心)the current economic problems.
总之,"more than"看似简单,其实很有内涵,味道隽永。

8. 一、by all me ans (表示同意)当然可以, 没问题务必; 勿论如何; 不惜一切地; 千方百计地By all means的意思是“一定”、“无论如何”、“用一切手段”。

例：You must bring him here by all means．你们一定要设法把他带到这里来。

This project must be realized by all means．这个规划必须要实现。

You should by all means warn him before he leaves for Singapore．你务必在他去新加坡之前提醒他。

By all means亦可用于回答，表示有礼貌的同意，作“好的”、“当然可以”解。

二、by no means 决不，绝非She is by no means wanting in courage. 她决不缺乏勇气。

By no means
should we lose our heart. 我们决不应该失去信心。

He is by no means an absent-minded professor. 他绝不是一个心不在焉的教授。

三、by means of ：用,凭借1. We express our thought by means of words. 我们用词句来表达思想。

2. Thoughts are expressed by means of words. 思想是用(通过)言语表达的。

3. They were able to position the yacht by means of radar. 他们能够用雷达测定快艇的方位.4. He succeeded by means of perseverance. 他是通过坚持成功的。

5. They succeeded by means of hard working. 他们依靠努力工作而获得成功。

means 方式、方法；通常指交通运输方式method方法;指合乎逻辑的或系统的方法。

用这种方法in this way /by this means / with this method
形复义单永远只能写作means 可以说a means,all means,即means 是一个单复数同形的名词，并且永远带有尾 -s。

换句话说，在表示“方式”、“方法”时，不存在mean这一形式。

9. relieve vt. 解除，减轻；使不单调乏味；换…的班；解围；使放心
be relieved to 对….. 感到放心，松一口气
We is relieved to see you back safe and sound. 见您平安归来我们感到放心了。

10. for the time being
1. 暂时；目前
2. 暂时，暂且，权且；眼下，目前For the time being, our concern is the best known. 就目前而言，最好是关注我们已知的东西。

For the time being, we will have to use this tool . 就目前来说，我们将不得利用这一工具。

This is the only material that Tom can find for the time being . 这是汤姆目前能找到的唯一的一种材料。

11. 1、fit in ：装配好；给…安排时间；把…放进去；适应，适合(with) 2、fit in with ：同…一致；同…合得来；适合，符合，适应
12.be enthusiastic about doing= be enthusiastic to do 热衷
于做···，着迷于做····
13. v.+ ed---adj.; v.+ ing---adj.
amaze; disappoint; bore; interest; embarrass; excite; surprise; tire; move。
