教学目标
1. 能够掌握课标要求的“四会”词汇:America,peace。
2. 能了解介绍现代奥运会的表达法。
教学重难点
1. 掌握一些与介绍现代奥运有关的词汇:modern,motto,spirit,slogan,feature。
2. 学会用英语介绍现代奥运会。
3. 掌握以下重点句子:
(1)In the modem Olympics, some things are the same no matter which country is hosting, and some things change.
(2)The blue ring stands for Europe.
(3)It touched many people's hearts.
(4)But one thing has always been the same-to do the best and to compete fairly.
教学准备
录音机,幻好片,图片。
教学过程
Step 1 Lead-in
Discuss the following questions:
Which mascot do you like best?
What do you think is the same in every Olympics?
Discuss in groups for three minutes. Then some students present their answers in front of the class. Step 2 Listening
Listen to the tape and know about the main points of the passage. At the same time, fill in the blanks with the words you hear:
1. The five rings stand for the _____ united together.
2. The Olympic slogan is created by the _________.
3. Each host country creates its own _______.
Finish the task in class orally.
Step 3 Reading
Read the passage and answer the following questions:
1. What does the red ring stand for?
2. What is the Olympic motto?
3. What's the name of 2008 Beijing Olympic song?
Read the passage and finish the task in class orally.
Step 4 Practice
Ask the students to write a short passage to introduce the modern Olympics.
Work in groups to finish the task. After a while, some groups present their passages in front of the class.
When the students are preparing, the teacher walks around the classroom to solve the problems that probably happen.
Step 5 Come to "Let's Do It!"
Read the lesson, finish Exercise 1 together. Then finish off Exercise 2 together.
Step 6 Homework
1. Finish off Exercise 3 in "Let's Do It!"
2. Finish off the exercises in activity book.。
