一、本课复习目标
1. 能够读懂本课的配图故事,完成句子排序练习,并能根据关键词等简单复述故事。
2. 通过阅读故事,让学生了解Terry Fox的经历,帮助学生体会Terry Fox的爱心,以及为了这份爱心坚持到底、永不放弃的精神。
教学建议
读前活动
1. 学生唱本单元Fun Time中的歌曲。
2. 通过谈话活动复习第六单元部分重点词汇。
教师提问学生:When were you born? When did you…? 等,学生回答。
之后教师出示Terry Fox的图片,进一步提问学生:Do you know him? 如果学生不怎么了解,教师可以引导学生思考:What do you want to know? 由学生针对人物图片主动提问。
教师结合学生的提问进行板书。
读中活动
1. 呈现故事
(1) 学生结合以上问题,自己阅读故事,初步感知故事大意。
(2) 师生交流。
学生通过回答教师的问题What do you know about Terry Fox? 了解故事大意。
学生结对,通过交流进一步了解Terry Fox的故事。
2. 整体感知故事
教师播放故事录音,让学生整体感知故事。
3. 逐段阅读,理解故事细节

1. 完成句子排序练习
(1) 学生阅读B项中的句子,然后在原文中找到原句或是意思相同的句子。

(3) 学生结对,核对答案。

2. 复述故事
(1) 教师结合板书,为学生示范复述故事。
可以按照时间顺序来复述主人公的主要经历,如下所示。
Terry Fox: Terry was a high school student. He is popular and hardworking. When he was 18: Terry got cancer. His leg was taken off. He wanted to run to get money for cancer research.
April 12th, 1980: Terry started a special trip across Canada. It was very difficult but he kept running.
September 1st, 1980: Terry was very sick. He couldn’t run again but Canadians gave more and more money for cancer research.
June 28th, 1981: Terry died.
Since 1981: They have given 300 million dollars. Every September, there is a Terry
Fox run for cancer research.
In 1999: Canadians named Terry Canada greatest hero. They gave him Canada’s highest award.
(2) 学生四人一组,练习复述故事。
(3) 教师请学生在全班范围内展示,复述故事。
展示的学生可以借助黑板上的板书提示,独立复述故事;也可以结对或是以小组为单位复述整个故事。
(4) 拓展讨论。

1、学生分析
五年级学生已具备了一定的词汇量和现实生活中情景交际的能力。
本节课是在学生原有的基础上培养学生使用恰当的语言进行语言交际的能力。
2、教材分析
本课是第一单元的第一课,主要讲述Danny,Jenny, Li Ming and Mrs.Li乘火车旅游前Danny等人兴奋的心情和Mrs.Li对于Danny的不恰当行为的指正。
内容贴近生活,难度适中,为五年级学生提供了一个很好的谈论话题。
教学目标
1、知识与技能目标
(1)学生能够听懂、会说、认读和书写:run, jump, sing, dance, sit down, stand up (2)学生能够用英语说出祈使句Please(don’t)sit /stand/walk……,能够用英语简单地表达出自己兴奋的心情和想要做的事情。
