一、教学目标
Ⅰ.We need to master the new words and phrases.
Ⅱ.We know the writing format(格式)of the English letter.
Ⅲ.Students are abl e to write an English letter and give your house’s directions to your friends.

1.教学重点:because引导的原因状语从句.
2.教学难点:Write an e-mail to your friend and give directions to your house in English.

四、教学过程
Step1:创设情境,导入新课
A)Warming up
抢答:步行去上学/在去……的路上/在星期一/给某人展示某物/一张……的地图/迷路/加拿大/加拿大(人)的
B)Lead in
Think about two questions:
1. Is it easy to live in a new place?
2.What do you do if you get lost?
Step2:Show learning aims
Ⅰ.We need to master the new words and phrases.
Ⅱ.We know the writing format(格式)of the English letter.
Ⅲ.Students are able to write an English letter and give your house’s directions to your friends.
Step3:New lesson instruction
A)New words
First, teach the new words. Then recite them and check the new words.
B)Listening
Listen to the text carefully and fill the blanks.
How are you? I’m d oing ______. I have to tell you that I had the ______.but don’t worry, I’m better now.
This week, I got to know my neighbourhood. Jenny and I __________ to school on _________. The school is about one _______ from Uncle David’s home. When he walk to school, we go by the bakery. Sometimes we buy bread there. Jenny likes to buy _________ at the bookstore. It’s on our way to school, too. _________ from the bookstore, there is a beautiful park. We love to play there.
C) Introduce the format of letter
英文书信一般分三部分:称呼、正文、结束语(落款)。

称呼对方可以用Dear…,结束语用Yours、Love等。

D) Reading
Task1——Fast reading
Read paragraph 3 and paragraph4 quickly and answer the following questions.
1. What happened to Brian yesterday?
2. What will Brain do tomorrow? Why?
3. What did Brain do on Thanksgiving Day?
Task2——Careful reading
1.合作探究(Work in groups)
Find four sentences from this text and translate them into Chinese and pay much attention to reds words.
(1)I’ m doing well.
(2) I got to know my neighbourhood.
(3) Across from the bookstore, there is a beautiful park.
(4)I was going to meet Danny at the movie theatre.
Language points:
get to know“逐渐了解,开始了解”强调“从不认识到认识的渐进过程”。

若要表示认识了一段时间用know。

across prep. 指从事物表面穿过,强调平面上。

through prep. 指从立体空间穿过,强调空间内。

2.精讲点拨
(1)Tomorrow I am going to buy a map of the city because I don’t want to get lost again.
(2)I will be glad when you come to see me.
Step4:Outward bound
A)I am the best reader.
Ask several students to read the text in front of the class.
B)Free talk
One of your friends is coming to see you. Write an e-mail to him or her and give directions to your house! You can begin like this:
Dear my friend,
I’m glad you are coming to my house.…

Some tips: Lin Tao / ten kilometers /your house / take a bus / near / a flower shop/
