Period 4 V ocabulary
Teaching Aims:
1.To know the different festivals in China.
2.To describe the different activities done during the different festivals.
Teaching Contents:
1.Words: turkey, May, card
2.Phrases: A. New Year’s Day, May Day, Teacher s’ Day
B. rice dumpling, get cards and presents
Teaching Procedures:
Step I Revision
Choose two students to retell the whole text in reading.
Step II Presentation
1.Present pictures of different festival and ask Ss to guess what the festival is called in English.
2.Present the correct answers and ask them to match the correct dates.
3.Check their answers.
StepIII Reading
Lead Ss to read these festivals and pay attention to the pronunciation.
StepIV Practice (work in pairs)
1. Ask Ss to practice the following dialogues.
S1: When is…?
S2: Do you go to school at…?
S1: Yes, we do. /No, wedon’t.
S2: What do you do on that day?
2.Choose several pairs to talk about it.
StepV Presentation.
1.Present the pictures in part B.
2.Ask Ss what they can think of when seeing these pictures, then check answers.
3. Choose some Ss to describe the pictures
StepVI Homework.
1.Finish the period 4 on the Handbook of Evaluation.
2. Review the contents of this lesson.。
