课文讲解
1. Last year, I wanted to give up my studies.去年，我想退学。

give up 意为“放弃”。

后接名词或动词的-ing形式作宾语。

give up doing sth.意为“放弃做某事”，如果代词作 give up 的宾语则需放在中间，如give it up. Eg:His mother didn’t give up trying to help him.
2. With a good education,you can make a difference.有了好的教育，你能有所作为。

make a difference意为“起作用，有影响”。

Eg:Who makes a difference in your life?
3. She does not want anyone to drop out of school.她不想让任何人退学。

(1)want sb. to do sth.想要某人做某事
Eg:I want you to tell the truth.
（2）drop out of school 退学，辍学
Eg;Why do you drop out of school?
4. She always helps us in every possible way.她总是以任何可能的方式来帮助我们。

(1)help sb. with sth.在某方面帮助某人。

I often help my brother with his homework.
(2)possible 可能的。

as…..as possible 尽可能…..地，as……as 中间接形容词、副词的原级形式。

5.I want to make a difference in the future------just like my teacher. 我想像我的老师一样将来能有所作为。

in the future 意为“在将来”
Eg: I will be a good teacher in the future.
