Protection Levels
Definition of Protection: Based on ballistic material providing a 90% probability of protection from the threat (established by STANAG 4164).
Threat Level 1 (Rifle)
Artillery Simulator: 20mm FSP (simulating 155mm threat) at 520 m/sec
from a distance of 100 meters. Due to very low probability of a large
fragment retaining enough velocity at these distances, STANAG 4569
makes this optional.
