My Favorite Teacher: Miss Zhang Guimei
Let me tell you about my favorite teacher, Miss Zhang Guimei. She is the best teacher ever! I really like her class because she always makes learning fun and interesting.
Miss Zhang was born in a small village in Sichuan Province. When she was little, her family didn't have much money. But Miss Zhang studied very hard and dreamed of becoming a teacher one day. She wanted to help kids like her learn and have a better life.
After finishing school, Miss Zhang became a teacher in our little town. At first, it was hard for her because the school didn't have many books or supplies. But Miss Zhang didn't give up. She used her own money to buy colored pencils, paper, and other things for her students.
Miss Zhang is really good at teaching math and science. She uses lots of examples from real life to help us understand. Like when we learned about fractions, she brought apples and
oranges to class and cut them into pieces. That made it so easy to see what 1/2 or 1/4 means!
Miss Zhang also loves doing science experiments with us. Once, we made a volcano erupt with baking soda and vinegar. It was so cool to see the "lava" bubble up! Another time, we made little parachutes and tossed them off the roof to learn about air resistance. So much fun!
But Miss Zhang doesn't just teach us school stuff. She teaches us important life lessons too. She always says, "If you dream big and work hard, you can achieve anything you want!" She tells us stories about famous scientists, artists, and leaders who overcame many challenges because they never gave up on their dreams.
Miss Zhang is very kind and caring too. Whenever a student is struggling with something, she stays after class to help them until they understand. She also buys warm jackets and shoes for poor students in winter so they don't get cold.
One year, there was a big flood in our town. Many families lost their homes and belongings. Miss Zhang organized a big donation drive and collected clothes, food, and other supplies to help the victims. She worked day and night to make sure everyone got what they needed. What an amazing teacher!
Miss Zhang doesn't just teach inside the classroom. She also takes us on exciting field trips to learn about nature and the world around us. We've gone to museums, parks, factories, and even a space camp! My favorite was when we went camping in the mountains. We pitched tents, cooked over a fire, and gazed at the brilliant stars at night. So cool!
Last year, Miss Zhang won the "National Outstanding Teacher Award" for her hard work and dedication. The whole town was so proud of her! During the ceremony, she gave a speech about the importance of education. She said every child deserves a good teacher who can help them reach their full potential.
I feel so lucky to be Miss Zhang's student. She inspires me to dream big, work hard, and always keep learning. I want to grow up to be just like her - someone who makes the world a little bit better. Thank you for being an awesome teacher, Miss Zhang!

My Amazing Teacher Ms. Zhang Guimei
Hi everyone! I want to tell you about my super awesome teacher Ms. Zhang Guimei. She is the best teacher ever and has
done so many cool things to help people. Let me start from the beginning!
Ms. Zhang was born in 1957 in a very poor village called Shazhou in Hunan Province, China. Her family didn't have much money when she was little. Still, Ms. Zhang worked really hard in school because she dreamed of becoming a teacher someday.
In 1977, when Ms. Zhang was 20 years old, she finally got her wish! She became a teacher at the very same primary school she went to as a kid. Ms. Zhang was so happy to start teaching. But the school was very old with almost no supplies like books or pencils. The desks were broken too. Ms. Zhang felt bad seeing her students struggle without proper things to learn.
So in 1982, Ms. Zhang used her own tiny salary to buy her first batch of school supplies like notebooks and chalks for the students. She didn't have much money leftover after that, but she didn't care. Helping her students was most important to her.
Over the next few years, Ms. Zhang kept spending her paychecks on getting more learning supplies for the school little by little. She also fixed up broken desks and chairs herself after class. Thanks to her hard efforts, the school slowly started improving.
But then in 1988, a huge flood destroyed the school building! Everything Ms. Zhang worked for was ruined. She was heartbroken. With the school wrecked, she had to take her students and teach them under a big tree outside. Rain or shine, she did her best despite the tough conditions.
For four long years, Ms. Zhang and her students studied outdoors under that tree. But she never gave up. Finally in 1992, with help from the government and kind donors, a new school building could be built to replace the old one. Ms. Zhang was overjoyed!
The new school was much better with real desks, books, and supplies. Ms. Zhang's dream of giving her students a proper education was coming true. Over the years, she kept working hard to make the school better and better.
But Ms. Zhang didn't stop there. In 2008, a terrible earthquake struck Sichuan Province and many schools were destroyed. As soon as Ms. Zhang saw this on TV, she quickly gathered up all the books, desks, and supplies she could from her school. Then she traveled for three whole days by bus to get to the worst-hit areas in Sichuan.
When Ms. Zhang arrived, she donated all those learning supplies to the students who lost their schools. She helped set
up temporary outdoor classrooms, just like she did years ago under the tree. Ms. Zhang worked tirelessly to make sure those kids could keep studying after such a scary disaster.
Ms. Zhang's amazing kindness and drive to help students, no matter how tough it got, inspired many people across China. In 2009, she was given a huge national award for being an incredible teacher and community hero!
Even after getting that award though, Ms. Zhang stayed humble and kept doing what she loved - teaching. Year after year, she gave her all to every class, never letting her students down. She bought more supplies, fixed more desks, and made her school the best it could be.
Now in 2019, after 42 years of teaching, Ms. Zhang was finally able to retire. She left behind a wonderful legacy of helping countless students get a good education despite many challenges. Ms. Zhang showed that with perseverance and a caring heart, one person truly can make a difference.
To this day, Ms. Zhang's amazing spirit inspires me and all her former students. Whenever we face tough times, we remember her courage under that old tree or how she helped after the Sichuan earthquake. Her selfless devotion to helping kids learn no matter what motivates us to work hard too.
Ms. Zhang Guimei is a real-life hero in my eyes. Though she came from a poor village, she never let that stop her dreams. Through kindness and decades of effort, she transformed her run-down little school into a fantastic place of learning. More importantly, she uplifted and educated so many children's lives, including mine.
I am proud to call Ms. Zhang my teacher. She may be retired now, but her incredible spirit and deeds will forever remain a big inspiration for me and everyone whose life she touched. Thank you for everything, Ms. Zhang! You are the best teacher this world could ever have.

My Great Teacher Zhang Guimei
My name is Li Xiaoming. I am a student in 5th grade at Huanghe Road Elementary School. I want to tell you about my amazing teacher Ms. Zhang Guimei. She is the best teacher ever!
Ms. Zhang was born in 1964 in a small village called Xiyuan in Guizhou Province. Her family was very poor when she was little. Her mom sold vegetables and her dad worked on a farm. Even though money was tight, her parents believed education was
really important. They wanted Ms. Zhang and her siblings to go to school and get a good education.
When Ms. Zhang was 6 years old, she started going to the village primary school. The school only had 2 classrooms and no running water or electricity. The desks were old and broken. But Ms. Zhang loved learning and studying hard. She walked 5 kilometers to school every day, even in bad weather.
After finishing primary school, Ms. Zhang went to middle school in the county town. It was far from her village, so she had to live in a dorm there. The living conditions were very poor, but Ms. Zhang kept working super hard. She was at the top of her class every year.
In 1980, when Ms. Zhang was 16 years old, she took the important college entrance exam. She scored so well that she got into an excellent teachers college in the provincial capital Guiyang. Her parents were overjoyed that their daughter would become a teacher. They saw it as a noble profession.
The four years at teachers college flew by quickly for the diligent Ms. Zhang. In 1984, she graduated at the top of her class and was assigned to teach at Huanghe Road Elementary School in Guiyang. That first year, she taught two 3rd grade classes with over 80 students total! It was tough but she loved her job.
Over the next few decades, Ms. Zhang worked tirelessly as an elementary school teacher. She was always the first to arrive at school and the last one to leave. She carefully prepared creative lesson plans to make learning fun and engaging for us students. We all admired her passion and dedication.
Ms. Zhang treated every student with kindness and respect, like her own children. If we struggled with lessons, she would patiently tutor us after classes until we understood. On cold winter days, she brought extra warm clothes to share with poorer students. She never wanted any child left behind.
One of my favorite stories about Ms. Zhang happened in 1998. A new student named Xiao Li joined our class midway through the year. His parents had just gotten divorced and he was going through a very hard time, acting out in class. But Ms. Zhang showered him with care and understanding. Slowly, Xiao Li opened up and his grades improved. He ended up doing so well that he got into a top middle school!
Another amazing thing Ms. Zhang did was start a free tutoring program in 2005. She recruited her colleagues and high school volunteer tutors. They provided free tutoring twice a week after school for any student who needed extra help, no
matter their family's income. The program helped hundreds of students get ahead.
In 2011, one of Ms. Zhang's former students named Wang Wei made a generous donation to the school. He had become a successful businessman and wanted to thank the teacher who changed his life. With the money, Ms. Zhang set up a scholarship to help pay fees for underprivileged students. What a kind deed!
Ms. Zhang's outstanding work has earned her many honors over the years. She was named an "Outstanding Teacher" by the city of Guiyang in 1992. In 2002, she received a special provincial teaching award. And in 2018, she was one of the few recipients nationwide of the highest national teaching honor.
After nearly 40 years of teaching, Ms. Zhang retired in 2022 at age 58. At her retirement celebration, former students from across the country came to thank her. We cried tears of joy and gratitude for everything she had done for us. Her legacy will inspire future generations.
What I admire most about Ms. Zhang is her unwavering commitment to education and care for her students—no matter their family's wealth. By lifting up the poor and giving everyone a fair chance to learn, she changed the lives of countless children
like me. Zhang Guimei is the role model of what a great teacher should be. I will never forget her!

My Favorite Teacher: Zhang Guimei
Hello everyone! My name is Xiaoming and I am in 5th grade. Today I want to tell you all about my favorite teacher, Zhang Guimei. She is the best teacher ever and has done so many amazing things!
I first met Teacher Zhang when I started attending Fuzhou Road Elementary School in 1st grade. She was my homeroom teacher that year. From the very first day, I could tell she was a really nice and caring lady. She always had a big smile on her face and greeted each of us students warmly as we arrived to class in the morning.
Teacher Zhang was really good at explaining things in a simple way that we little kids could understand. Whenever someone didn't get something, she would patiently re-explain it using different words and examples until we got it. She never made anyone feel dumb for asking questions. She encouraged us to keep asking until we understood.
Not only was Teacher Zhang a great teacher, but she really loved and cared about all her students too. She remembered all our names and little details about our lives. She asked about our families and how we were doing. If someone seemed sad or upset, she would take them aside and listen to their problems with a caring ear. Teacher Zhang gave the best hugs too!
One winter, there was a big snowstorm that made it really hard for some students to get to school. The snow was piled up so high! Teacher Zhang knew that some of the students lived far away and their families didn't have much money. So you know what she did? She went door-to-door and picked up those kids herself to make sure they could still attend class! How awesome is that?
Another time, one of the students' grandmother passed away. The student's family was too poor to give their grandma a proper funeral. When Teacher Zhang found out, she collected some money from the other teachers and donated it to the family. She also organized for all of us students to make cards expressing our condolences. The student was so grateful and moved to tears by Teacher Zhang's kindness.
Every year for Children's Day on June 1st, Teacher Zhang would spend her own money to buy little gifts and treats for
each of her students. She would make handmade cards too with personalized messages telling us how proud she was of our achievements that year. Those little gestures meant so much and made us feel so special!
Even after I moved up to higher grades, Teacher Zhang still checked in on me and the other students she had taught before. She would attend our school events and performances just to show her support. She truly cared about us not just as students, but as people. Teacher Zhang was like a second mom to us!
In 3rd grade, my family went through a really tough time financially. My dad lost his job and we could barely afford rent or food some months. Teacher Zhang found out and started giving my mom bags of groceries and her old clothes that didn't fit anymore. She told us not to be embarrassed about accepting her help. Teacher Zhang said we were like family.
Then in 4th grade, I was really struggling with my math classes. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get it to click. Teacher Zhang stayed after school to tutor me three days a week until finally it started making sense. She never gave up on me or let me give up on myself. Thanks to her patience and dedication, I didn't fall behind.
Now, here I am in my last year of elementary school. I've had so many great teachers over the years, but none quite as special as Zhang Guimei. Just last month, she received an award from the local community for her outstanding service and commitment to children's education. We all cheered so loudly when her name was called!
Teacher Zhang is retiring at the end of this school year after an incredible 40-year teaching career. She has impacted thousands of young lives, including mine. At her retirement party, I'm going to tell her she was more than just an educator to me. She was a role model who showed me what it truly means to be a good, selfless, and caring person. The world could use more people like Zhang Guimei.
I'm really sad to see her go, but I know her legacy of kindness will live on in all her former students. We will remember her lessons, her wisdom, her hugs, and most importantly - her heart. Thank you for everything, Teacher Zhang! You are the best teacher I've ever had!

My Awesome Teacher Ms. Zhang Guimei
You know what? I have the coolest teacher ever! Her name is Ms. Zhang Guimei, and she's the best! Let me tell you all about her amazing story.
Ms. Zhang was born in a tiny village called Mingzhudang in Hunan Province, China. Her family was super poor, and she had to help out on their farm from a very young age. Despite all the hard work, little Zhang loved studying. She would use any free time she had to read books and do her homework by the light of an oil lamp.
When Zhang was just 8 years old, her dad got really sick. The family had no money for a doctor or medicine. Poor Zhang had to drop out of school to take care of her dad and help on the farm even more. For the next few years, she couldn't go to school at all. But she never stopped learning on her own from any books she could find.
Finally, when Zhang turned 13, her dad recovered enough for her to go back to school. She was so happy! Zhang studied super hard to catch up. She would wake up at 4am every morning to get extra study time before classes. All her effort paid off when she scored the highest mark in the village on her high school entrance exam!
Zhang's excellent results meant she could attend the best high school in the area. However, her family still didn't have enough money to pay the fees. Zhang was heartbroken at the thought of missing this chance. But then, her teacher and village leaders raised the money through donations so she could go! Wasn't that amazing?
At high school, Zhang continued being an A+ student. She took on many tough part-time jobs like working on construction sites to pay her own tuition fees. Zhang's hard work and brilliance earned her admission to the prestigious Hunan Normal University to study teaching.
After graduating, Zhang's first job was at a remote village primary school. The students came from very poor families, just like her own childhood. Determined to give them the best education, Zhang went above and beyond as a teacher. She used her own money to buy learning materials and nutrition supplements for the students.
In 1994, Zhang transferred to a primary school in Hanshou County. This area was so undeveloped that the school had no desks, chairs, or even proper buildings! Classes took place outdoors under trees. Zhang worked tirelessly to improve the school facilities, often using her meager salary.
Under Zhang's leadership, the students began achieving impressive results in academic competitions across the province. However, Zhang felt she could do even more to help her students escape poverty through education. So in 1998, she made an incredibly brave decision.
Zhang decided to start a free boarding school for the most disadvantaged children in the area who didn't have access to education. Using her life savings of just 200 yuan, she renovated a run-down shed to serve as the first classroom and dormitory. The Zhi Xin Elementary School was born!
Conditions at the new school were extremely rough at first. There was no heating, so everyone shivered through freezing winters. Food was scarce, often just corn porridge. Zhang had to take multiple jobs like farming and construction work to raise funds. But she never gave up on her dream.
Slowly but surely, through sheer hard work and perseverance, Zhang raised money to improve Zhi Xin School little by little. More classrooms, dorms, and cafeterias were added over the years. High-quality teachers were hired. Course materials and computers were purchased.
Today, Zhi Xin has over 30 school buildings and 1,800 students, all receiving a top-notch education for free! Graduates
have gone on to universities across China and careers like teachers, doctors, and engineers. Many return to support the school that gave them their chance.
Zhang's amazing work has been recognized with many honors, including being named one of the "Top 10 Inspirational Teachers in China." In 2011, she received the National Outstanding Teacher award, the highest honor for educators in China.
Even after achieving so much, 59-year-old Ms. Zhang has no plans to retire. She jokes, "If I rested, I'd be like an old retired ape with nothing to do!" Her current goal is to upgrade Zhi Xin to an accredited high school and then even a university.
When asked about the key to her success, Ms. Zhang says it's all about having hope, grit, and a spirit of service to others. She hopes her life story inspires people to "contribute something to society through their hard work."
Well, Ms. Zhang has definitely inspired me! She overcame extreme poverty and challenges through her intelligence and unbreakable perseverance. Today, she has created an entire school system that is transforming thousands of lives. Ms. Zhang is living proof that one person really can change the world through kindness and unwavering commitment.
I feel so lucky to have such an amazing role model as my teacher. Thank you, Ms. Zhang, for showing us students what real courage and compassion look like. You are the best teacher ever, and my hero!。
