He drew a picture on the whiteboard, what showed a half-full glass of water. He then said, “Class, the point of view from which you look at things will affect your feelings. Like this glass of water, some people see it and think ‘Only half a glass of water. How unfortunately I am.’ However, ot her people think ‘I’m so thirst. Half a glass of water for me!’ It is all in the way you think.” Mr Liu’s optimistic way of thinking always make me feel glad and hopeful. 听力答案及原文
1. A 【原文】M: Did you call a taxi? You have to order them in advance. The last time I tried to get one, it took 30 minutes. W: I just did. It will pick us up in 10 minutes. So, hurry up and get ready!
2. C 【原文】M: Old Peter next door fell on the last step of the stair yesterday. You should go over
and ask if we can get his groceries every week. W: I’ll call after I pack up this soup for him. It will
help him get better.
3. C 【原文】W: Tom has been feeling down lately because his hair has started to become thinner.
M: I know. I saw him yesterday and he couldn’t stop trying to style it during the dinner. W: I think
he just needs to relax...
4. A 【原文】W: I need to find a good place to read. I thought the library would be better than a
cafe, but it’s too noisy here. M: Try the computer room. There are some comfortable chairs, and
no one talks because they’re working on projects.
5. A 【原文】M: Did you enjoy the movie? Interesting or boring? W: I was too scared. Most of the
time, I couldn’t even watch it.
第二节6. C 7. A 【原文】M: Look at this place! If I didn’t know it was the city I grew up in, I
would think I was somewhere else! W: Yeah, so many houses are empty or broken down. It’s
wasn’t like this when we were kids. M: We used to play balls in the streets all the time, but it looks
so dangerous now. W: And ugly. Look at all that rubbish in the streets. The wind just pushes it
along. What a lonely place! M: This used to be a great city. People came from miles around to
work in the shops and eat in the restaurants. What a sad sight! W: Yeah, let’s pick up the rubbish.
I’m getting sad.
8. C 9. C 10. A 【原文】W: Hi, Mr. Smith. May I ask you a question? M: Of course. What can I do
for you? W: I was wondering about our magazines. I know we have to order them in advance but I
don’t know when the deadline is, how much they cost, or when to pick them up. M: I can give you
all that information. You can pre-order your magazine, or you can just buy one when they come
out. The pre-order deadline is in a week, and you just have to drop off your order form and check here. The magazine is $ 50. They’ll be out in 2 months, and you can pick yours up right here. W: So, I still have some time to decide whether or not to pre-order, right? M: Absolutely. But if you know you definitely want a magazine, I would recommend pre-ordering. That way, everything will be ready ahead of time.
11. B 12. A 13. B 【原文】M: Hi, Lisa, what are you doing? W: Watching a Japanese film. I’m going to spend all next year in Japan, and I think I should find out more about its culture. M: You mean you have been accepted into the program? W: I sure have. M: That’s wonderful. You must be excited. W: Excited and nervous. You know I have to work on some basic conversation skills. M: How much Japanese can you understand? W: Only a little now. But I’m going to take a special language class next month. M: I wish I were as clever as you are at foreign languages. I would love to study abroad. W: Then why don’t you? The school has a lot of programs that don’t require the knowledge of a foreign language. You just have to be the kind of person who is quick to learn new things and can get used to a new environment fast. M: I thought all programs required one to know a foreign language. Thank you for letting me know this.
14. B 15. C 16. B 17. C 【原文】W: So what are you going to do this summer? M: I’m going to visit South America. W: Great! M: I’m going to be travelling around quite a lot and I’ll probably spend three weeks there. W: So where are you going? M: To start off, I’m going to fly to Rio and perhaps I’ll stay there for a few days. W:Do you know anyone there? M: No, but I’ve always wanted to go to Rio. It’s quite a place of interest. And I’ll probably go up the Sugar Loaf Mountain. W: And where are you going after that? M: I’m going to fly to Santiago in Chile, where I’ve got some friends. We’ll probably spend some time doing some sightseeing and then we’re going to lie on the beach for a few days in Valparaiso, which is on the coast, not far away from Santiago. Then I’m flying to Lima where I’m going to meet my girlfriend. W: Then you’ll have a good time together. M: Yes. We’ll probably go somewhere else. I don’t know where yet, but I’d like to spend
a week in the jungle. Then we’ll probably fly home. W: Well, have a nice time!
18. A 19. C 20. C 【原文】W: During the summer you should be even more careful than usual because food goes bad faster in hot weather than in cold weather. When you buy frozen and refrigerated foods, don’t make long stops on your way home because frozen foods could become soft or warm. Using bags helps keep food cold until you can get home. Milk and milk products should be refrigerated immediately. When camping or picnicking or at any time when refrigeration can’t be made use of, use special dry foods. Don’t leave food in a hot car. Picnic favorites like meat, chicken and eggs should be kept in a cooler box. Above all, if the food doesn’t seem to be normal in smell or appearance, throw it away immediately. Don’t taste it。
