Unit 5 Do you want to watch a game show? Section A (1a-2d) 教学设计
一、教学目标：
Knowledge Aims:
1. Can master and use the new words:
news, sitcom, soap opera, mind, stand, educational, plan, hope, discussion, happen, expect
2. Learn and use the sentences about talking about hobbies.
Ability Aims:
learn to use plan/ hope/ expect to do something correctly.
Moral Aims:
Learn to plan your own time properly.

1. 教学重点：
1) 学习掌握各类电视和电视节目的名称。

2) 掌握动词不定式结构做动词的宾语；了解后面接动词不定式做宾语的动词。

三、教学过程
Ⅰ. Lead-in
Hello, boys and girls! Do you like watching TV? What kinds of TV shows do you like? OK, Let’s watch a TV show. (Play a video《the voice of China》)
This is my favorite TV show. It’s a talent show. This class we’ll learn so mething new of unit 5. First, let’s look at our objectives together.

Ⅱ.New teaching
(Ⅰ)Learning new words
1)Show the pictures about new words.
T: What kind of TV show is it?
S: news
T: news= north+ east+ west+ south
(Lead the class to read the new words)
Learn other new words in this way.
2) Play a game:
眼疾嘴快（show the pictures and ask the students to say out the TV shows quickly）
Order: 训练学生对电视节目的掌握情况。

3）Learn the word plan
Show the TV shows tonight and talk about them in pairs:
A: What do you plan to watch tonight?
B: I plan to watch a talk show.
变一变：我们正计划去北京旅游。

昨晚他计划看一场篮球赛。

Order: 加深学生对plan 的用法的理解。

4）This is a report about TV shows. Can you follow me to read these words? (Lead the class to read the new words and phrases of this part together.)
T: Can you read it again and try to catch the meanings of the words and phrases? (Given 2 minutes, the class read the report in silence and try to catch the meanings.)
Then call some ones to tell the meanings of them.
Order: 在语境中突破单词，加深对词汇的理解。

(Ⅱ)Learning new conversations
1)Play a video about the news
T: Make modal conversation with some students. Lead into the new conversations.
A: What do you think of the news?
B: I love it.
A: Why do you like watching...?
B: Because it's educational.
A: What can you hope to learn from...?
B: I hope to find out what's going on around the world.
2)Play a video about home with kids
Make a conversation with some students.
A: What do you think of ...?
B: ...
A: Why do you like watching...?
B: ...(relaxing, interesting)
A: What can you hope to learn from...?
B: ...(learn some great jokes)
3)Play a video about Chinese Characters dictation competition
Talk about the game show like this:
A: What do you think of...?
B: ...
A: Why do you like watching...?
B: ... (educational/exciting)
A: What can you hope to learn from...?
B: ... (learn a lot/ learn much knowledge)
Order: 通过观看视频谈论电视节目会引起学生极大兴趣，学生有话可说。

4）Listening
Listen to 2a and choose the best answers.
Order: 把课本听力进行改编提高学生的应试能力。

5）提升训练
Play a video about the Olympic games
Make a conversation about this show in pairs.
Order: 学生强化训练三个目标句型。

III Work in groups
1. The group leaders choose any topic, then discuss it in groups. What do you think of it?
2. Write down your results of the discussion.
