全国人事部英语翻译三级考试样题(笔译实务)
全国翻译专业资格(水平)考试英语三级《笔译实务》试卷Section 1: English-Chinese Translation (50 points)Translate the following passage into Chinese.Freed by warming, waters once locked beneath ice are gnawing at coastal settlements around the Arctic Circle. In Bykovsky, a village of 457 residents at the tip of a fin-shaped peninsula on Russia’s northeast coast, the shoreline is collapsing, creeping closer and closer to houses and tanks of heating oil, at a rate of 15 to 18 feet, or 5 to 6 meters, a year. Eventually, homes will be lost as more ice melts each summer, and maybe all of Bykovsky, too.“It is practically all ice —permafrost —and it is thawing.” The 4 million Russian people who live north of the Arctic Circle are feeling the effects of warming in many ways. A changing climate presents new opportunities, but it also threatens their environment, the stability of their homes, and, for those whose traditions rely on the ice-bound wilderness, the preservation of their culture.A push to develop the North, quickened by the melting of the Arctic seas, carries its own rewards and dangers for people in the region. Discovery of vast petroleum fields in the Barents and Kara Seas has raised fears of catastrophic accidents as ships loaded with oil or liquefied gas churn through the fisheries off Scandinavia, headed for the eager markets of Europe and North America. Land that was untouched could be tainted by air and water pollution as generators, smokestacks and large vehicles sprout to support the growing energy industry.Coastal erosion is a problem in Alaska as well, forcing the United States to prepare to relocate several Inuit coastal villages at a projected cost of US$100 million or more for each one.Across the Arctic, indigenous tribes with cultural traditions shaped by centuries of living in extremes of cold and ice are noticing changes in weather and笔译实务(英语·三级)试卷第 1 页(共3 页)wildlife. They are trying to adapt, but it can be confounding. In Finnmark, the northernmost province of Norway, the Arctic landscape unfolds in late winter as an endless snowy plateau, silent but for the cries of the reindeer and the occasional whine of a snowmobile herding them.A changing Arctic is felt there, too, though in another way. “The reindeer are becoming unhappy,” said Issat Eir a, a 31-year-old reindeer herder.Few countries rival Norway when it comes to protecting the environment and preserving indigenous customs. The state has lavished its oil wealth on the region, and as a result Sami culture has enjoyed something of a renaissance. And yet no amount of government support can convince Eira that his livelihood, intractably entwined with the reindeer, is not about to change. Like a Texas cattleman he keeps the size of his herd secret. But he said warmer temperatures in fall and spring are melting the top layers of snow, which then refreeze as ice, making it harder for his reindeer to dig through to the lichen they eat.“The people who are making the decisions, they are living in the south and they are living in towns,” said Eira, sitting beside a birch fire inside his lavvu, a home made of reindeer hides. “They don’t mark the change of weather. It is only people who live in nature and get resources from nature who mark it.”Section 2: Chinese-English Translation (50 points)Translate the following passage into English.中国为种类繁多的菜肴感到十分自豪。

But where do millennials end, and when does the next generation begin? Until recently, I (and many others) thought the last millennial birth year would be 1999 — today's 18-year-olds.【C3】______, that changed a few years ago, when I started to【C4】______ big shifts in teens' behavior and【C5】______ in the yearly surveys of 11 million young people that I analyze for my research. Growing up with a smartphone has【C11】______ nearly every aspect of their lives. 英语三级考试真题2020年12月
英语三级考试真题2020年12月全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1The Big English TestWow, I can't believe I took the CET-3 exam last month! That's the College English Test Level 3 for all you kids who don't know. It's a really big deal test for university students in China. I'm just a 4th grader, but my parents thought it would be good practice for me to take it. Boy was it hard! The test had four parts - listening, reading, writing, and translation. The listening part was probably the trickiest for me. We had to listen to recordings of people talking and answer questions about what they said. The speakers talked so fast! I could barely keep up. Luckily we got to listen to each one twice. There were conversations between two people, lectures, news reports, and even a live broadcast of a basketball game play-by-play. The questions asked stuff like the main idea, details, the speakers' attitudes, and making inferences. On one conversation, I had to figure out the relationship between thetwo people based on how they talked to each other. Mom and dad? Teacher and student? It was tricky! The reading part was long, really long. We had to read several passages and answer comprehension questions just like on my school reading tests. But these passages were crazy difficult with all sorts of big vocabulary words I'd never seen before. One was about black holes, another about the development of modern art movements. BoringCity! There were passages asking for the main ideas, details, inferences, identifying the authors' views and techniques. Oof, my brain was fried by the end. Then we had to write a short essay, around 200 words, on an assigned topic. The prompt was "It's better to experience something once than to hear about it a thousand times." We had to state our views and provide examples to support our position. I'd been practicing writing persuasive essays in class, so I tried to follow all those rules about having a clear thesis, body paragraphs, examples, and conclusion. Hopefully I did okay! The last part was translation - first translating a passage from English into Chinese, then translating separate sentences from Chinese into English. I actually felt okay with the English to Chinese part since I'm a native Chinese speaker. But yikes, thoseEnglish sentences were packed with obscure vocabulary and idiomatic phrases. Things like "It's raining cats and dogs" or "Killing two birds with one stone." How's a 4th grader supposed to know those?!By the time the four hour test was over, I was mentally drained. As I streamed out with all the university students, I couldn't believe kids way older than me were taking that same brutal test. I just took it for practice and extra credit, but they needed to get a high score for their degree! No thank you, I'll stick to kid stuff. Although I do feel proud for giving it my best effort.Who knows, maybe I'll look back on this when I'm in college and laugh at how worked up I got over the CET-3 as a 9-year-old. Or maybe I'll have blocked it out of my brain completely! Either way, I'm glad I got some experience with a really difficult standardized test. Hopefully it helped prepare me for the many more big tests I've got waiting for me down the road. Wish me luck!篇2My English Exam AdventureHiya! My name is Timmy and I'm a 4th grader. I just took the craziest English test ever and I've got to tell you all about it!It was a cold December morning when my teacher Ms. Robinson told the class we'd be taking a really important English exam. I gulped loudly. Tests always make me sweat buckets. What if I failed and had to repeat 4th grade? I'd be stuck with my little brother Jacob at school and he'd tease me to no end.The night before the test I spent hours poring over my English books, quizzing myself on vocab words until my brain felt like mush. My mom made me a big breakfast to "feed my brain" as she put it. I devoured the pancakes, eggs and bacon like there was no tomorrow.Test day arrived far too soon in my opinion. I put on my lucky Captain America t-shirt, grabbed my carefully sharpened pencils, and headed to school with my stomach doing somersaults. The exam was being held in the gym rather than our normal classroom. Row after row of individual desks filled the usually open space. It felt like a fancy college exam room! Beside each desk was a small plate with two sharpened pencils and a big fat eraser. A serious-looking proctor stood at the front with a stack of test booklets."This is it," I thought. "No turning back now!"We all quickly found our assigned seats and the proctor began giving instructions. No talking, no cheating, raise your hand if you need anything. He made the rules crystal clear.Time to begin! The proctor dramatically ripped open the seal on the test booklet package. He passed them out row by row with a stern look on his face. I took a deep breath as my booklet landed on my desk with a thwap. The first section was listening comprehension. The audio tracks played scenes of kids doing various activities - playing at a park, eating lunch, opening birthday presents. We had to answer multiple choice questions about what we heard. Luckily my ears are pretty sharp from years of video games so I rocked that part!Next up was reading comprehension with long passages about boring topics like corn farming and the importance of wearing sunscreen. My eyes glazed over but I powered through and bubbled in the answers to the best of my ability. Then came the writing section. We had to write a short essay arguing whether or not kids should have more recess time. Heck ya, I thought, lay on the recess! I made sure to include solid evidence like "recess helps kids concentrate better" and "playingburns off energy so kids aren't antsy." I was quite proud of my persuasive writing by the time I was done.Just when I thought my hand couldn't take any more pencil pushing, it was time for the grammar section. Identify the verb, Circle the adjective, Fix the sentence structure. My poor brain worked overtime on all those nitpicky questions. Finally, after what felt like an eternity of filling in bubbles, the proctor announced time was up and we needed to put down our pencils. I smiled weakly and turned in my test booklet. Phew! What an academic marathon! While I awaited my score, I tried to stay positive by imagining getting an A+ and having Ms. Robinson beam with pride. Or maybe they'd even move me ahead a grade for being so brilliant! A guy can dream, right?A few weeks later, the students were called to the gym one by one to receive their test results in a sealed envelope. When it was my turn, I nervously ripped it open...And I passed! I got a solid B which was way better than I expected. No repeating 4th grade for this kid. Lay off the little bro jokes, Jacob! Maybe next year I'll even go for that A.So there you have it - one crazy kid's tale about an intense English exam. They might be difficult but as long as you study hard, you'll make it through! Then you can leave testing in the dust and just be a kid again. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some well-deserved video games to play!篇3The Big English TestHi there! My name is Emma and I'm a 5th grader. I just took a really big English test last month and I wanted to tell you all about it.It was the College English Test Band 3 exam on December 12, 2020. I know that name sounds way too grown-up for a kid like me, but my parents said it's a super important test. They want me to get really good at English so I can have lots of opportunities when I'm older.I was pretty nervous leading up to the test day. My English teacher, Mrs. Roberts, kept reminding our class how crucial this exam was. She said it would test our English listening, reading, writing and translating abilities at a pretty high level. Yikes! The weeks before, we did a ton of practice tests and activities to get ready. Mrs. Roberts made us do listening exercises where we had to identify the main ideas and key details from conversations and short lectures. There were recordings about all kinds of topics like business, science, culture and more. For the reading part, we had to read all these dense passages and answer comprehension questions about the main points, author's attitudes, vocabulary in context and stuff like that. Some of those readings were really long and pretty dry if I'm being honest. A few were about things like great philosophers or economic theory. Zzzzzz.....My favorite sections were the writing and translation practice. For writing, we had to learn how to summarize a reading passage in a certain number of words. We also did argumentative writings where we stated a claim and supported it with examples and reasoning. That part was kind of fun because we got to pick controversial topics to write about. The translation exercises were interesting too. We practiced going back and forth between English and Chinese, making sure the meaning didn't get lost or changed along the way. A good translator has to really understand the context and implied meanings behind the text.Anyway, after weeks of study, it was finally time for the big test day. I was so nervous my stomach felt like it was doing somersaults! The exam was at a huge testing center with rooms full of individual desks. We had to leave our bags and anything else outside. The first section was listening. We had to put on headphones and listen carefully to the recordings. There were dialogues between two people to start. Then it moved to longer lectures and talks. I thought I did okay, but there were definitely some parts where I got a little lost or missed some of the details. After listening, we moved right into the reading comprehension part. This was probably the hardest section for me. We had to read these super long and dense passages, then answered multiple choice questions that got progressively harder. By the end, my brain felt like mush!We got a short break for lunch, which was just a plain boxed meal and drink. I've definitely had better lunches, but at least it gave my mind a little rest. The next part was the writing section where we had to summarize a reading and also write a short argument essay. Let me tell you, it's hard to write a good structured essay in only 30minutes! I wrote as fast as I could while still trying to organize my ideas clearly. The translation part at the very end was okay. We got a Chinese passage that we had to translate into English, and vice versa. Translating is all about finding the right words to keep the original meaning intact between languages. It's trickier than it looks! After what felt like an entire day of nonstop English work, the exam was finally over. I was exhausted! My teacher said we should get our scores back from the testing company in a couple months. In the meantime, my brain definitely needed a nice long break from English tests. Maybe I'll go binge some cartoons to relax. Although who knows, maybe I'll accidentally pick up some English skills from those too. An English learner's work is never done!So that's the full rundown of my experience with the crazy College English Test Band 3 exam. I'm just a regular 5th grader, but Tests like these are hopefully setting me up for English success down the road. Wish me luck!篇4Hi everyone! My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. I just took the College English Test Band 3 (CET-3) exam last month in December 2020. I know what you're thinking - why would a 4th grader take a college English test? Well, my parents really want me to get ahead in English, so they signed me up for it. At first I thought it would be super hard, but it actually wasn't too bad. Let me tell you all about it!The first part of the test was listening comprehension. They played some recordings and asked multiple choice questions about what we heard. Some of the recordings were conversations between two people, and others were lectures or news reports. I had to listen really carefully to get the right answers. Luckily, my English listening skills are pretty good from watching so many movies and shows! After the listening part, we had to do a bunch of reading passages and answer questions about them. The passages were about all different topics like science, history, culture, and more. Some of the vocabulary was pretty advanced, but I've read a lot of higher level books so I could figure most of it out from context clues. The questions asked things like the main idea, details, inference, and author's purpose or tone. It was kind of like the reading comprehension sections we do in school, just harder. The most challenging part for me was the section on grammar and vocabulary. There were questions testing all kinds of grammar rules that I'm still learning, like verb tenses, conditional sentences, prepositions, and more. The vocabulary questions gave us a sentence with a blank, and we had to choose the word that fit best. A lot of the words were ones I'd never seen before! I just had to use my knowledge of roots, prefixes, and context clues to make my best guess.Next up was the writing section, which was my favorite part. We had to write a short essay of around 200 words in response to a prompt. The prompt I got was: "Some people think individual success is more important than collaborating with others. Do you agree or disagree with this view?" I decided to disagree and wrote about how working together as a team is crucial for accomplishing big goals. I tried to use lots of examples, details, and logical reasoning to support my point of view. My teacher has helped our class practice essay writing a lot, so I felt prepared. The very last part was the translation section, which was pretty straightforward. We had to translate a few sentences from English into Chinese, and vice versa. As long as you knew thevocabulary and could express the same meaning, you could get it right.Overall, I thought the CET-3 was challenging but fair. The test was really long - about 3 hours! My hands cramped up from bubbling in so many answers. But I felt like I did a decent job, considering it's a test meant for college students. My parents were so proud of me just for trying my best. What did I learn from this experience? Well, I realized how important it is to have excellent English skills nowadays. The world is so connected and being bilingual opens up so many opportunities. Preparing for this advanced test also motivated me to read more, expand my vocabulary, and keep improving. Who knows, maybe I'll take the CET-4 next! There were a lot of other kids around my age at the testing site, probably because their parents also want them to get ahead.I could tell some of them were really stressed out. I'm just glad my parents didn't put too much pressure on me. At the end of the day, it was a fun challenge and great practice. Not bad for a 4th grader, right? So that's my whole experience with the crazy difficult CET-3 test. I'm already looking forward to the next English exam I get totake. Wish me luck, and let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks for reading, friends!篇5My Summer Vacation PlanHi everyone! I'm so excited to share with you my summer vacation plan. I can't wait for the school bell to ring and summer break to begin. Are you ready? Let's get started!First of all, I am going to visit my grandparents in the countryside. They live on a farm and have lots of animals like cows, chickens, and even a cute little pig. I love helping them feed the animals and collect fresh eggs from the chickens. It's so much fun! After spending time with my grandparents, my family and I are going to the beach. I can already imagine the soft sand between my toes and the sound of waves crashing on the shore. I'm looking forward to building sandcastles and splashing in the water with my little sister. We'll also have a picnic and enjoy some delicious ice cream.Since it gets really hot during the summer, I plan to join a swimming class. I want to improve my swimming skills and havelots of fun in the pool with my friends. We'll have races, play water games, and learn different swimming strokes. It's going to be a blast! In addition to all the outdoor activities, I also want to spend some time reading books. I have a long list of books I want to read, including adventure stories and mysteries. Reading not only helps improve my English, but it also takes me to different worlds and sparks my imagination. Moreover, I have enrolled in an art camp. I love drawing and painting, so this camp is perfect for me. I'll get to learn new techniques, experiment with different colors, and create beautiful artworks. I can't wait to showcase my masterpieces to my family and friends.Last but not least, I will spend quality time with my family. We'll have movie nights, play board games, and go on hikes together. These moments are precious, and I cherish every second with them.In conclusion, my summer vacation is going to be amazing! From visiting my grandparents, going to the beach, swimming, reading books, attending art camp, to spending time with my family, I will make the most of my break. I hope you all have a fantastic summer too!Remember, it's important to have fun, relax, and recharge during your summer vacation. So, make a plan and make the most of it. Enjoy every moment and create beautiful memories. Have a great summer, everyone!Word Count: 292 words篇6My English TestHi there! My name is Emma and I'm in 5th grade. Today I had to take a really important English test. It was the big proficiency exam for December 2020. I was a little nervous, but I studied really hard so I think I did pretty good. The first part of the test was listening comprehension. They played some audio recordings and asked multiple choice questions about what we heard. The first one was about a boy named Jack who was getting ready for school in the morning. He overslept because his alarm didn't go off! His mom had to rush him out the door with just a granola bar for breakfast. I remember laughing when they played the sound effect of Jack's loud angry mom yelling "Jack! You're going to miss the bus!"The next listening was about a family going on a road trip for their summer vacation. The kids in the backseat kept asking "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" Over and over again until their dad finally yelled that no, we're not there yet! Overall, the listening passages were fun and not too difficult if you paid close attention. Then we had to do a written section where we read some passages and answered comprehension questions about the main ideas, the author's purpose, vocabulary in context, and other stuff like that. One of the passages was a story about a magic tree house that could transport these kids named Jack and Annie to different places and times in history. That story was pretty cool! I'd love to have a magic tree house like that.Another reading passage just described how to make your favorite sandwich from start to finish. First you get all your ingredients together like bread, peanut butter, jelly, etc. Then you lay out the bread and spread on the peanut butter and jelly. Finally you put the two pieces together and eat! That one was easy to follow. The last reading was about Benjamin Franklin and all his great contributions like bifocals, the lightning rod, and his role in writing the Declaration of Independence. I didn't know muchabout him before reading that passage. The comprehension questions for that one were pretty hard because there was a lot of complex information to remember. But I tried my best!Next up was the writing section where we had to write a short essay responding to a prompt. The prompt asked us to write a letter to our teacher about why it's important to learn a second language. Here's what I wrote:Dear Ms. Jones,I think it's really important for kids to learn a second language like English, Spanish, French, or Chinese when they're young. The first reason is that it's much easier to pick up a new language when you start at an early age before middle school or high school. Little kids just soak up new vocabulary and grammar rules like a sponge!Another big reason why everyone should learn a second language is because it allows you to communicate with more people from other countries and cultures. If I could speak Spanish for example, I could easily travel to Spain or Mexico or other Spanish-speaking places and be able to talk to the locals. That would open up lots of new fun opportunities. Finally, knowing a second language gives you an advantage when you start looking for jobs. Employers really value people who are bilingual or even trilingual. If two candidates are equally qualified but one speaks multiple languages, they'll probably hire that person. In conclusion, those are the top three reasons why it's a great idea for kids to start learning a foreign language from a young age. It's a valuable skill that becomes much harder as you get older, it unlocks the ability to connect with so many new people, and it increases your job opportunities down the road. Thanks for your time!Sincerely,EmmaPhew! I worked really hard on that writing sample trying to include some examples and reasoning for each of my three main points. I hope Ms. Jones would be proud of that essay if she was grading it.Anyway, that's what the big English test was like for me! There was also a small speaking section at the end where I had to respond to a couple of simple prompts like "What did you have for breakfast today?" and "Describe your favorite holidaycelebration." I just spoke about my morning bowl of Froot Loops and how I love dyeing eggs and going on Easter egg hunts every Easter.Overall, it was challenging in some parts but not。

Then this year forget the crowds in New England and 06see the beautiful colors of autumn in the Catskills.07These rugged mountains in New York State, just 90 miles northwest of New York City, 08are famous for the legendary tales of Rip Van Winkle, and more recently for the summer hotels 09that sprang up in the region during the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Families trying to escape 10the heat of New York City found the Catskills to be the perfect place to stay for a month 11or so each summer. By the late 1950s there were over 500 resorts and hotels offering nighttime 12entertainment as well as all kinds of outdoor activities. Famous comedians like Jackie 13Gleason, Joan Rivers, and Sid Caesar all got their start touring the hotel clubs here. Since 14the introduction of air-conditioning and cheaper air travel, however, families have stopped 15coming to the Catskills in such large numbers, choosing instead more distant locations at 16different times of the year. Many of the Catskills hotels closed in the 1970s, but some 17remain and have expanded and changed their facilities to meet the needs of today’s visitors.18Currently, there are many activities available to the traveler besides witnessing 19the changing colors of the leaves. There is an all-organic sheep farm where visitors can 20see how a traditional sheep farm operates. There are also hundreds of miles of scenic drives 21in the area. Sheep5354Questions 71-80 are based on the following passage.5556First, of course, it is plain that in a few years everyone will have at his elbow 57several times more mechanical energy than he has today.58Second, there will be advances in biological knowledge as far-reaching as those 59that have been made in physics. We are only beginning to learn that we can control our 60biological environment as well as our physical one. Starvation has been prophesied twice 61to a growing world population: by Malthus about 1.8 billion and by Crookes about 1.9 billion.62It was headed off the first time by taking agriculture to America and the second time by 63using the new fertilizers. Soon starvation will be headed off by the control of the diseases 64and the heredity of plants and animals — by shaping our own biological environment.65And third, I come back to the haunting theme of automation. The most common species 66in the factory today is the man who works or minds a simple machine — the operator. Before 67long he will be as extinct as the hand-loom weaver and the dodo (老古董). The repetitive 68tasks of industry will be taken over by the machines, as the heavy tasks were taken over 69long ago; and the mental tedium will go the way of physical exhaustion. Today we still 70distinguish, even among repetitive jobs, between the skilled and the unskilled, but in a 71few years to come all repetition will be unskilled. We simply waste our time if we oppose 72this change.7371.This article was written to ________.74A. warn us of impending starvationB. present facts about life in the near future75C. oppose biological advancesD. warn of the danger of automation7672.In the coming years, people will ________.77A. have more machines at their disposalB. experience starvation78C. never workD. have fewer machines at their disposal7973.Advances in biological knowledge have ________.80A. kept pace with those in physicsB. been responsible for the invention of new81machines82C. surpassed those in physicsD. lagged behind those in physics8374.We are beginning to learn that we ________.84A. can control our physical environment85B. can never control our biological environment86C. have no control over our physical environment87D. can control both our biological and physical environments8875.In the near future, starvation will be prevented by ________.89A. Chinese agricultureB. use of new fertilizers90C. control of the diseases and the heredity of plants and animalsD. vitamin pills9176.Which of the following is NOT true?92A. The mental tedium will not exist in the end.93B. Hand-loom weaver is the thing of the past.94C. Automation is an out-of-date topic today.95D. Physical burden in the factory has already been replaced.9677.The author believes before long, machines will ________.97A. actually replace unskilled workersB. have learned to think for us98C. be shaped like robotsD. no longer be needed9978.The repetitive tasks of industry lead to ________.00A. physical exhaustionB. mental stimulation01C. mental exhaustionD. physical extinction0279.If the author’s predictions are realized, the demand for unskilled workers will03be04________.05A. very highB. very lowC. the same as todayD. constantly rising0680.From the passage, increased automation ________.07A. can be successfully opposedB. cannot be avoided08C. has not yet begunD. will put everyone out of work0910Questions 81-90 are based on the following passage.1112Of all the areas of learning the most important is the development of attitudes.13Emotional reactions as well as logical thought processes affect the behavior of most people.14“The burnt child fears the fire” is one instance; another is the rise of despots like 15Hitler. Both examples also point up the fact that attitudes stem from experience. In one 16case the experience was direct and impressive; in the other it was indirect and cumulative.17The Nazis were indoctrinated largely by the speeches they heard and the books they read.18The classroom teacher in the elementary school is in a strategic position to influence 19attitudes. This is true partly because children acquire attitudes from those adults whose 20word they respect.21Another reason it is true is that pupils often delve somewhat deeply into a subject 22in school that has only been touched upon at home or has possibly never occurred to them 23before. To a child who had previously a cquired little knowledge of Mexico, his teacher’s 24method of handling such a unit would greatly affect his attitude toward Mexicans.25The media through which the teacher can develop wholesome attitudes are innumerable.26Social studies (with special reference to races, creeds and nationalities), science matters 27of health and safety, the very atmosphere of the classroom… these are a few of the fertile 28fields for the inculcation of proper emotional reactions.29However, when children come to school with undesirable attitudes, it is unwise for the 30teacher to attempt to change their feelings by cajoling or scolding them. She can achieve 31the proper effect by helping them obtain constructive experiences.32To illustrate, first grade pupils afraid of policemen will probably alter their 33attitudes after a classroom chat with the neighborhood officer in which he explains how 34he protects them. In the same way, a class of older children can develop attitudes through 35discussion, research, outside reading and all-day trips.36Finally, a teacher must constantly evaluate her own attitudes, because her influence 37can be deleterious if she has personal prejudices. This is especially true in respect to 38controversial issues and questions on which children should be encouraged to reach their 39own decisions as a result of objective analysis of all the facts.4081.The central idea of the above passage is that ________.41A. attitudes affect our actions42B. teachers are important in developing or changing pupils’ attitudes43C. attitudes can be changed by some classroom experiences44D. by their attitudes, teachers inadvertently affect pupils’ attitudes4582.The word “despot” underlined in Paragraph 2 means a person ________.46A. who enjoys a high reputationB. who is very successful in politics47C. with unlimited powersD. who deposits a large sum of money in a bank4883.The pupils’ attitudes are NOT influenced by ________.49A. their parents’ persuasion to behave properly50B. their teachers’ attitudes51C. the speeches they hear and the books they read52D. such media as social studies, science matter and classroom atmosphere5384.It can be inferred from the passage that the pupils ________.54A. usually study a certain subject in greater details at home than at school55B. usually do not study a certain subject at home56C. study the subjects only at school57D. study a subject more deeply at school than at home5885.The example of the pupils’ learning about Mexico shows that ________.59A. a child usually learns the right things from their teachers60B. a teacher can correct a pupil’s wrong ideas61C. a teacher’s attitude can influence a child’s attitude by teaching62D. a child’s attitude is very changeable6386.The author implies that ________.64A. the teacher should guide all discussions by revealing her own attitude65B. in some aspects of social studies a greater variety of methods can be used in the66upper grades than in the lower grades67C. people usually act on the basis of reasoning rather than emotion68D. children’s attitudes often come from those of other children6987.A statement made or implied in the passage is that ________.70A.attitudes can be based on the learning of falsehoods71B.a child can develop in the classroom an attitude about the importance of brushing72his teeth73C.attitudes cannot easily be changed by rewards and lectures74D.the attitudes of elementary school-aged children are influenced primarily by their75teachers7688.The passage specifically states that ________.77A.direct experiences are more valuable than indirect ones78B.whatever attitudes a child learns in school have already been introduced at home79C.teachers should always conceal their own attitudes80D.teachers can sometimes have an unwholesome influence on children8189.From the last paragraph, we can see that ________.82A.a teacher’s influence on children is always positive83B.children should be encouraged to reach their own decisions by ignoring objective facts84C.if improperly handled, a teacher’s influence can be very harmful to the children85D.children may develop prejudices if the teacher’s atti tude is wrong8690.The author of this passage tries to ________.87A.present certain facts of how the development of a person’s attitude can be influenced88B.show that our society is not doing enough to help children shape their attitudes89C.point out that teach ers are the only people who can influence the children’s attitudes90D.prove that speeches and books are the only factors to indoctrinate children9192Section 3: Cloze Test (10 points)93In the following passage, there are 20 blanks representing words that are missing from 94the context. Klarna: Getting More Ambitious(节选)Caution: reimagining under way小心:重塑进行中Klarna has not been signing up American retailers as quickly as it had anticipated. But it hopes two global trends will speed its expansion. The more that online shopping moves to phones, the more pressing it is for all online traders to make their checkouts quick and easy to use, but still safe. Customers particularly detest typing in credit card numbers on their phones, especially if asked to do so in public – while riding a busy bus, say. Klarna reckons over 60% of its business today involves mobile shopping, compared with less than 10% two years ago. Some retailers, such as sellers of shoes and clothes, report an especially rapid shift to mobile. The other broad trend is for shopping across national borders. Online markets, such as , connect bargain-hungry consumers in rich countries to producers of clothes, watches, toys or jewellery in, for example, China. Klarna works with Wish on European sales, letting customers pay for goods ordered cross-border only after getting them, which can take weeks. That reassures shoppers not ready to trust an anonymous Chinese T-shirt firm to deliver. Many sellers are appalled by the prospect of having to comply with different countries’ financial laws, say on extending credit, so they readily outsource payments.Klarna, in contrast, is a glutton for regulatory punishment. In fact, it is entering the most regulated bit of finance: retail banking. It is licensed as a bank in Sweden, which allows it to collect deposits from all over Europe. Mr Siemiatkowski sees this as a cheap source of financing, but also as a big opportunity. Just like online shoppers, he argues, bank customers are desperate for a safe-but-simple mobile interface like the one Klarna offers in payments. 英译汉More than 25 million years ago, India, once a separate island on a quickly sliding piece of the Earth’s crust, crashed into Asia. The two land masses are still colliding, pushed together at a speed of 1.5 to 2 inches a year. The forces have pushed up the highest mountains in the world, in the Himalayas, and have set off devastating earthquakes.Experts had warned of the danger to the people of Katmandu for decades. The death toll in Nepal on Saturday was practically inevitable given the tectonics, the local geology that made the shaking worse and the lax construction of buildings that could not withstand the shaking.GeoHazards International, a nonprofit organization in Menlo Park, Calif., that tries to help poorer, more vulnerable regions like Nepal prepare for disasters, had noted that major earthquakes struck that region about every 75 years. In 1934 —81 years ago —more than 10,000 people died in a magnitude 8.1 earthquake in eastern Nepal, about six miles south of Mount Everest. A smaller quake in 1988 with a magnitude of 6.8 killed more than 1,000 people.Brian Tucker, president and founder of GeoHazards, said that in the 1990s, his organization predicted that if the 1934 quake were to happen again, 40,000 people would die because of migration to the city where tall, flimsily built buildings would collapse. In an update just this month, GeoHazards wrote, “With an annual population growth rate of 6.5 percent and one of the highest urban densities in the world, the 1.5 million people living in the Katmandu Valley were clearly facing a serious and growing earthquake risk.”The organization helped set up a local nonprofit to continue preparations, including the reinforcement of schools and hospitals.Saturday’s earthquake occurred to the northwest of Katmandu at a relatively shallow depth, about nine miles, which caused greater shaking at the surface, but at magnitude 7.8, it released less energy than the 1934 quake.Roger Bilham, a professor of geological sciences at the University of Colorado who has studied the history of earthquakes in that region, said that the shaking lasted one to two minutes, and the fault slipped about 10 feet along the rupture zone, which stretched 75 miles, passing under Katmandu. The earthquake “translated the whole city southward by 10 feet,”Dr. Bilham said.Aftershocks as large as magnitude 6.6 have occurred mostly to the northeast of Katmandu. It is possible that the Saturday quake is a preface to an even larger one, but Dr. Bilham said that was unlikely.Katmandu and the surrounding valley sit on an ancient dried-up lake bed, which contributed to the devastation. “Very, very soft soil, and the soft soil amplifies seismic motion,”Dr. Tucker said.Steep slopes in the area are also prone to avalanches like the one that the quake triggered on Mount Everest on Saturday.Katmandu is not the only place where a deadly earthquake has been expected.Dr. Tucker said Tehran; Haiti; Lima, Peru; and Padang, Indonesia, were similarly vulnerable. In those places, nearby tectonic faults are under strain, and building standards and disaster preparations are seen as inadequate.

A thorough check of the accounts has revealed ___ a tax evader.A. him beingB. him to beC. that he beD. that he had been参考答案:D. that he had been解析:这一句的语法知识主要考的是动宾结构的特殊用法。
如果a tax evader是一个补语,那么就应该是reveal him a tax evader——这个并没有出现在选项之中。
定语从句that he had been就是第二选择了。
请从以下四个选项里挑选出最符合句子意思的选项:The ___ of the football match will be shown on TV tonight.A. guidelineB. entertainmentC. masterpiecesD. highlights参考译文:D. highlights解析:从整个句子的意思来看,应该是the football match 的一部分将会在电视节目里播放,而这一部分会是什么呢?首先,可以排除的是entertainment(娱乐)和masterpieces(代表作);其次,guideline(指南)如果是“比赛指南”话,肯定不会是单指一场赛事,而是tourment games。
Hightlights 的意思除了“标记”或“高亮”之外,还有就是“最精彩部分”,即The highlights of an event, activity, or period of time are the most interesting or exciting parts of it. 例如,a match that is likely to prove one of the highlights of the tournament./可能是本届锦标赛最精彩的赛事之一。

【参考译文】For decades, China has witnessed rapid economic growth and huge improvements in the living standards of its citizens, but these achievements come at a huge cost to the environment. We believe that by learning lessons of the past, we can find better ways forward. Therefore, China now takes robust efforts to promote ecological civilization and green, circular and low-carbon development. It has integrated climate actions into medium- and long-term plans for economic and social development, and focused on climate change mitigation and adaption simultaneously. In addition, it has taken legal, administrative, technological and market-based measures to ensure the implementation of relevant programs. China’s total renewable power capacity and new renewable capacity account for 24% and 42% of the global total respectively. And with that, China is the world’s largest country in terms of energy conservation and application of new energy and renewable energy. In line with a balanced approach to upholding principles and pursuing interests, China takes an active part in global cooperation against climate change. Over recent years, the government has honored its commitments to South-Southcooperation on climate change. It supports developing countries, especially the least developed countries, landlocked developing countries and small island developing states, in addressing this global challenge. As part of its growing international assistance, China in September pledged 20 billion yuan for a China South-South Climate Cooperation Fund. And in 2020, it will build 10 low-carbon demo zones and 100 climate change mitigation and adaptation programs, and offer training programs for 1,000 climate-related professionals in other developing countries. Also, it will continue international cooperation in clean energy, disaster prevention and relief, environmental protection, climate-adapted agriculture and low-carbon smart cities, and help these countries increase their ability to secure capital.。

The second seemed like an effort to bring some levity to a complicated situation. But the third and fourth (and fifth and so on) times that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada wore themed socks on a public occasion, it seemed clear that something more calculated was going on.You've heard of fashion diplomacy, or frock diplomacy? The practice whereby a female politician, or the wife of a world leader, uses clothing to convey unspoken messages about a platform or position, or as a form of outreach? Well, this is clearly sock diplomacy. It's a new tactic in the political playbook. And it reached an apogee of sorts on Sunday, when Mr. Trudeau marched in Toronto's Gay Pride Parade wearing a rainbow-striped pair printed with the words "Eid Mubarak" in recognition of the Islamic festival that marks the end of Ramadan, and which coincided with this year's parade. Yes, he honored **munities with one pair of socks. And he did so while also supporting local industry: They were made by a Toronto-**pany, Halal Socks, and cost $14.99. All that doesn't happen by accident. It also followed closely on an appearance in regular rainbow socks for a Pride flag-raising on June 14 in Ottawa, and one on the syndicated TV show "Live with Kelly and Ryan" on June 5 in patriotic maple leaf socks — which he also wore in 2015 at a gathering of Canada's provincial heads of government. There was another smart socks show in May during a NATO meeting in Brussels, when Mr. Trudeau wore one blue sock and one pink, each with the NATO flag emblazoned on the side. And that followed a much-documented meeting with Enda Kenny, then the prime minister of Ireland, to which Mr. Trudeau wore "Star Wars" socks (it was International "Star Wars" Day).In each case, Mr. Trudeau's socks were not just fun, though they kind of were, **pared with the usual politician's navy or black; they also contained a message of solidarity. Rarely have a man's ankles said so much. It's pretty clever. Men, after all, have significantly fewer options than women when it comes to **munication via clothing. Unlike Hillary Clinton with her white pantsuits, they can't use color to support an idea. They can't really wear suits by different tailors for every country they visit to support local industry, the way Michelle Obama often did and the Duchess of Cambridge does.Wearing a themed tie might be a bit obvious. Occasion-appropriate cuff links would probably be too hard for anyone to spot. But socks? They're subtle enough not to be distracting, but visible enough that you can't miss the point. That's an original solution to the problem. And it's working. Mr. Trudeau's socks have begun to take on a life of their own, chronicled, and mostly celebrated, by observers everywhere. There are, of course, those who take exception to a head of government wearing what have historically been treated as joke, or kitsch, accessories. The point being that the socks reinforce the early criticism of Mr. Trudeau, voiced during his campaign for office, as a lightweight. (On the other hand, you could also see them as his attempt to own that stereotype and reverse it, now that he's in power.) And there are those who pointed out, vis-a-vis the Eid/Pride twofer, that many Muslim countries persecute or sometimes even kill gay citizens, and accused Mr. Trudeau of eliding the issue in his desire to acknowledge everyone at once. But overall, the socks have been a source of, well, pride and applause on an international scale —a symbol both of Mr. Trudeau's ability to embrace multiculturalism and of his position as a next-gen leader not bound by antiquated traditions and mores. Besides, they're a good icebreaker. (See: Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany bending down to admire Mr. Trudeau's choice at NATO.) After all, even when there's no obvious theme to celebrate, Mr. Trudeau rarely chooses the plain pair, opting for argyle or stripes instead, among other patterns. When he met the chairwoman of Xerox, he was wearing a diamond style. **plimented him.81. 81.What can we learn about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau?A. The first time he wore themed socks on public occasions was for his charming idiosyncrasy.B. The New York Times asked journalists who covered Diana and the deadly car accident, which also killed **panion, Dodi Al-Fayed, and their driver, Henri Paul, to share their memo and reflections.Diana was considered disloyal and unhinged, an unguided missile, when she went on the BBC in 1995 to talk of her emotional distress. ("There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.") In a sign of how much things have changed, William and Harry are marking the anniversary by speaking publicly about her, with royal approval. Her death also marked a turning point in the history of Britons' relationship to their own ids, ushering in an era in which people have new license to express themselves and feelings can weigh more heavily than reason, Mr. Freedland said."The reaction to her death is a preview of the Brexit landscape, in which emotion trumps expertise, " he said. "It was a shock to people — we didn't think it was part of the British mind-set — and now, after Brexit, you can see there was something growing there, a willingness to give two fingers to the experts." (Instead of using their middle fingers, Britons use what is known as a two-fingered salute.)Public opinion polls suggest nobody is particularly fond of Prince Charles, who at 68 is stillwaiting for his chance to become king. But they also show that the royal family, led by the seemingly indestructible 91-year-old queen, endures as a comforting unifying thread, providing a constitutional underpinning for a nation whose quirks include the fact that it has no written constitution."The royal family is key to our constitution, " Geordie Greig, editor of The Mail on Sunday, which publishes its share of royal-related articles, said in an email. "It provides a permanent and historical foundation going back more than 1, 000 years."The pomp and circumstance of its spectacles —the weddings of Charles and Diana and of William and Kate; the funeral of Diana — unify the country "with a familial heartbeat that also resonates around the world, " he added. At the very least, the royal family provides a gossipy distraction for a nation fretting about where it belongs and where it is going in this fraught era of Brexit. When is Harry going to propose to his girlfriend, Meghan Markle, and does it matter that she is Canadian, describes herself as mix race and is an actress? How disappointing is it that, at 35, William has already lost much of his hair? How expensive was Kate's sister's very big, very fancy engagement ring? Not everyone loves the royal family. Clearly anyone who visits Diana's memorial fountain in Kensington Gardens is part of a self-selecting group, hardly a representative sample of public opinion. But a recent stop there showed how Diana, even after all this time, remains part of the conversation."I feel bad for Diana, the way they treated her, " said Kristina Landgraf, a German tourist. "She was a good person, she was kicked out of the royal family, and tried to have a personal life."Visitors to Buckingham Palace said that the royal family held a fascination, even for those who are not really a royal family sort of person.91. 91.Which of the following statements is NOT true according to Paragraph 1?A. Britain and the world were shaken by the death of Diana, Prince of Wales in 1997.B. The deadly car accident killed Diana, Diana's companion and her driver.C. Because Diana's death ushered in an era, in which people have new right to express themselves and feelings are more important than reason.D. On the high plains a rig gnaws at rock more than 3, 000 feet (0.9km) underground. Then this year forget the crowds in New England and see the beautiful colors of autumn in the Catskills. These rugged mountains in New York State, just 90 miles northwest of New York City, are famous for the legendary tales of Rip Van Winkle, and more recently for the summer hotels that sprang up in the region during the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Families trying to escape the heat of New York City found the Catskills to be the perfect place to stay for a month or so each summer. By the late 1950s there were over 500 resorts and hotels offering nighttime entertainment as well as all kinds of outdoor activities. Famous comedians like Jackie Gleason, Joan Rivers, and Sid Caesar all got their start touring the hotel clubs here. Since the introduction of air-conditioning and cheaper air travel, however, families have stopped coming to the Catskills in such large numbers, choosing instead more distant locations at different times of the year. Many of the Catskills hotels closed in the 1970s, but some remain and have expanded and changed their facilities to meet the needs of today’s visitors.Currently, there are many activities available to the traveler besides witnessing the changing colors of the leaves. There is an all-organic sheep farm where visitors can see how a traditional sheep farm operates. There are also hundreds of miles of scenic drives in the area. Route 42, for instance, is an excellent site for spotting bald eagles. We are only beginning to learn that we can control our biological environment as well as our physical one. Starvation has been prophesied twice to a growing world population: by Malthus about 1.8 billion and by Crookes about 1.9 billion. It was headed off the first time by taking agriculture to America and the second time by using the new fertilizers. Soon starvation will be headed off by the control of the diseases and the heredity of plants and animals — by shaping our own biological environment. And third, I come back to the haunting theme of automation. The most common species in the factory today is the man who works or minds a simple machine — the operator. Before long he will be as extinct as the hand-loom weaver and the dodo (老古董). The repetitive tasks of industry will be taken over by the machines, as the heavy tasks were taken over long ago; and the mental tedium will go the way of physical exhaustion. Today we still distinguish, even among repetitive jobs, between the skilled and the unskilled, but in a few years to come all repetition will be unskilled. We simply waste our time if we oppose this change.71.This article was written to ________.A. warn us of impending starvationB. present facts about life in the near future笔译综合能力(英语·三级)试卷第13 页(共20页)C. oppose biological advancesD. warn of the danger of automation72.In the coming years, people will ________.A. have more machines at their disposalB. experience starvationC. never workD. have fewer machines at their disposal73.Advances in biological knowledge have ________.A. kept pace with those in physicsB. been responsible for the invention of new machinesC. surpassed those in physicsD. lagged behind those in physics74.We are beginning to learn that we ________.A. can control our physical environmentB. can never control our biological environmentC. have no control over our physical environmentD. can control both our biological and physical environments75.In the near future, starvation will be prevented by ________.A. Chinese agricultureB. use of new fertilizersC. control of the diseases and the heredity of plants and animalsD. vitamin pills76.Which of the following is NOT true?A. The mental tedium will not exist in the end.B. Hand-loom weaver is the thing of the past.C. Automation is an out-of-date topic today.笔译综合能力(英语·三级)试卷第14 页(共20页)D. Physical burden in the factory has already been replaced.77.The author believes before long, machines will ________.A. actually replace unskilled workersB. have learned to think for usC. be shaped like robotsD. no longer be needed78.The repetitive tasks of industry lead to ________.A. physical exhaustionB. mental stimulationC. mental exhaustionD. physical extinction79.If the author’s predictions are realized, the demand for unskilled workers willbe ________.A. very highB. very lowC. the same as todayD. constantly rising80.From the passage, increased automation ________.A. can be successfully opposedB. cannot be avoidedC. has not yet begunD. will put everyone out of workQuestions 81-90 are based on the following passage.Of all the areas of learning the most important is the development of attitudes. Emotional reactions as well as logical thought processes affect the behavior of most people.“The burnt child fears the fire” is one instance; another is the rise of despots like Hitler. Both examples also point up the fact that attitudes stem from experience. In one case the experience was direct and impressive; in the other it was indirect and cumulative. The Nazis were indoctrinated largely by the speeches they heard and the books they read. The classroom teacher in the elementary school is in a strategic position to 笔译综合能力(英语·三级)试卷第15 页(共20页)influence attitudes. This is true partly because children acquire attitudes from those adults whose word they respect.Another reason it is true is that pupils often delve somewhat deeply into a subject in school that has only been touched upon at home or has possibly never occurred to them before. To a child who had previously acquired little knowledge of Mexico, his teacher’s method of handling such a unit would greatly affect his attitude toward Mexicans. The media through which the teacher can develop wholesome attitudes are innumerable. Social studies (with special reference to races, creeds and nationalities), science matters of health and safety, the very atmosphere of the classroom… these are a few of the fertile fields for the inculcation of proper emotional reactions. However, when children come to school with undesirable attitudes, it is unwise for the teacher to attempt to change their feelings by cajoling or scolding them. She can achieve the proper effect by helping them obtain constructive experiences. To illustrate, first grade pupils afraid of policemen will probably alter their attitudes after a classroom chat with the neighborhood officer in which he explains how he protects them. In the same way, a class of older children can develop attitudes through discussion, research, outside reading and all-day trips. Finally, a teacher must constantly evaluate her own attitudes, because her influence can be deleterious if she has personal prejudices.
