职称英语资格考试卫生类A级模拟试题及答案
xx年职称英语资格考试卫生类A级模拟试题及答案It's a modem problem: you're too busy to be disturbed by incessant (连续不断的) phone calls so you turn your cell phone off.But if you don't remember to turn it back on when you're less busy. You could miss some important calls if only the phone knew when it was wise to interrupt you, you wouldn't have to turn it off at all. Instead, it could let calls through when you are not too busy.A bunch of behavior sensors (传感器) and a clever piece of software could do just that, by analyzing your behavior to determine if it's a good time to interrupt you. If built into a phone, the system may decide you're too busy and ask the caller to leave a message or ring back later.James Fogarty and Scott Hudson at Camegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania based their system oil tiny microphones, cameras and touch sensors that reveal body language and activity. First they had to study different behaviors to find out which ones strongly predict whether your mind is interrupted. The potential "busyness" signals they focused on included whether the office doors were left open or closed, the time of day, if other people were with the person in question, how close they were to each other, and whether or not the puter was in use.The sensors monitored these and many other factors while four subjects were at work. At random intervals, the subjects rated how interruptible they were on a scale ranging from "highly interruptible" to "highly not-interruptible". Their ratings were then correlated with the various behaviors . "It is a shotgun (随意的) approach: we used all the indicators we could think of and then let statistics find out which were important, " says Hudson. The model showed that using the keyboard, and talking on a landline or to someone else in the office correlated most strongly with how interruptible the subjects judged themselves to be. Interestingly, the puter was actually better than people at predicting when someone was too busy to be interrupted. The puter got it right 82 per cent of the time, humans 77 per cent. Fogarty speculates that this might be because people doing the interrupting are inevitably biased towards delivering their message, whereas puters don't care. The first application for Hudson and Fogarty's systemis likely to be in an instant messaging system, followed by office phones and cellphones. "There is no technological roadblock (障碍) to it being deployed in a couple of years, " says Hudson.问题A big problem facing people today is that.A.they must tolerate phone disturbances or miss important calls.B.they must turn off their phones to keep their homes quiet.C.they have to switch from a desktop phone to a cell phone.D.they are too busy to make phone calls.37、 The behavior sensor and software system built in a phone.A.could help store messagesB.could send messages instantlyC.could tell when it is wise to interrupt youD.could identify important phone calls38、 Scientists at Carnegie Menon University tried to find out.A.why office doors were often left openB.when it was a good time to turn off the puterC.what questions office workers were bothered withD.which behaviors could tell whether a person was busy39、 During the experiment, the subjects were asked.A.to control the sensors and the cameraB.to rate the degrees to which they could beinterruptedC.to pare their behaviors with others'D.to analyze all the indicators of interruption40、 The puter performed better than people in the study because.A.the puter worked harderB.the puter was not busyC.people tended to be biasedD.people were not good at statistics41、根据以下材料,答复41-55题If pollution continues to increase at the present rate, formation of aerosols (浮质) in the atmosphere will cause the onset (开始) of an ice age in about fifty years' time. This conclusion, reached by Dr. S.I. Rasool and Dr. S.H. Schneider of the United States Goddard Space Flight Centre, answers the apparently conflicting questions of whether an increase in the carbon dioxide (二氧化碳) content of the atmosphere will cause the Earth to warm up or increasing the aerosol content will cause it to cool down. The Americans have shown conclusively that the aerosol question is dominant. Two specters haunting conservationists have been the prospect that environmental pollution might lead to thepla's being unbearably hot or cold. One of these ghosts has now been laid.Because it seems that even an increase in the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to eight times its present value will produce an increase in temperatureof only 2 ℃, which would take place over several thousand years. But the other problem now looms larger than ever.。
2011年职称英语真题卫生类A级阅读理解原文及译文
Immune Functions(免疫功能)The immune system is equal in complexity to the combined intricacies of the brain and nervous system. The success of the immune system in defending the body relies on a dynamic regulatory communication network consisting of millions and millions of anized into sets and subsets, these cells pass information back and forth like clouds of bees flying around a hive(蜂巢).The result is a sensitive system of checks and balances that produces an immune response that is prompt, appropriate effective, and self-limiting.
At the heart of the immune system is the ability to distinguish between self and nonself. When immune defenders encounter cells or organisms carrying foreign or nonself molecules, the immune troops move quickly to eliminate theintruders(入侵者).Virtually every body cell carries distinctive molecules that identify it as self. The body’s immune defenses do not normally attack tissues that carry a self-marker.Rather,immune cells and other body cells coexist peaceably in s state known as self-tolerance.When a normally functioning immune system attacks a nonself molecule, the system has the ability to“remember”the specifics of the foreign body.Upon subsequent encounters with the same species of molecules, the immune system reacts accordingly. With the possible exception of antibodies(抗体)passed during lactation (哺乳期),this so called immune system memory is not inherited. Despite the occurrence of a virus in your family, your immune system must“learn”from experience with the many millions of distinctive nonself molecules in the sea of microbes(微生物)in which we live.Learning entails producing the appropriate molecules and cells to match up with and counteract each nonself invader.免疫系统的核心是有能力分清自我和异物。

职称英语卫生类A级考试真题(部分)
职称英语卫生类A级考试真题(部分)2011年职称英语考试已于3月26日结束,2011职称英语卫生类A级考试真题(部分)Be Alert to1 Antimicrobial Resistance(A级)(无换题现象)The ability of micro-organisms to find ways to evade the action of the drugs used to cure the infections they cause is increasingly recognized as a global public health issue. Some bacteria have developed mechanisms which make them resistant to many of the antibiotics normally used for their treatment (multi-drug resistant bacteria), so pose particular difficulties, as there may be few or no alternative options for therapy. They constitute a growing and global public health problem. WHO suggests that countries should be prepared to implement hospital infection control measures to limit the spread of multi-drug resistant strains and to reinforce national policy on prudent use of antibiotics, reducing the generation of antibiotic resistant bacteria. An article published in 7”he Lancet Infectious Diseases2 on 11 August 2010 identified a new gene that enables some types of bacteria to be highly resistant to almost/all antibiotics. The article has drawn attention to the issue of AMR3 (antimicrobial resistance), and, in particular, has raised awareness of infections caused by multi-drug resistant bacteria. While multi-drug resistant bacteria are not new and will continue to appear, this development requires monitoring and further study to understand the extent and modes of transmission, and to define the most effective measures for control. Those called upon to be alert to the problem of antimicrobial resistance and take appropriate action include consumers, managers of hospitals, patients, as well as national governments, the pharmaceutical industry, and international agencies.WHO strongly recommends that governments focus control and prevention efforts in the following areas like surveillance for antimicrobial resistance; rational antibiotic use, including education of healthcare workers and the public in the appropriate use of antibiotics; introducing or enforcing legislation related to stopping the selling of antibiotics without prescription; and strict adherence to infection prevention and control measures, including the use of hand-washing measures, particularly in healthcare facilities.Successful control of multidrug-resistant microorganisms has been documented in many countries, and the existing and well-known infection prevention and control measures can effectively reduce- transmission of multi-drug resistant organisms if systematically implemented.WHO will continue to support countries to develop relevant policies, and to coordinate international efforts to combat antimicrobial resistance. Antimicrobial resistance will be the theme of WHO’s World Health Day 2011.1. Why is the use of antibiotics arousing globally increasing interest? 抗菌药物的使用之所以会不断引起全球兴趣的原因是________。

They said patients are younger, especially women.According to the Shanghai Tumor research Institute, more local residents die of lung cancer in the city than anything else. Following breast cancer,it has the second-highest incidence rate.“An unhealthy lifestyle is a very important reason for lung cancer,”said Dr He Yumin from Shanghai Minshen Traditional Chinese Medicine Tumor Diagnosis and Treatment Center. He followed 2,276 lung cancer patients for five years. Among them,1,483 were male.Smoking causes 70 percent of cases among men while only 18 percent of female patients developed cancer from smoking or inhaling second-hand smoke, according to the report. However, more than 60 percent of women with the disease had long term, close contact with strong oil fumes from cooking and complained about l irritated eyes and throat.About 32 percent of women fried foods in boiling oil in unventilated kitchens and about 25 percent of women’s bedrooms were adj acent to2 the kitchen. However, local women were surprised to learn cooking oil fumes could lead to cancer. Some claimed they may change food preparation methods.“Unless my family and I don't eat at home every day,I must stay in the kitchen to cook," said Xu Li. a 45-year-old local woman. "I know the fumes are bad for the skin, but it is the first time I heard that it can result in lung cancer .I have already started frying less.’’Doctors said women’s lung cancer had few links to personal health and p hysical condition, but was closely related to family cancer history, unhealthy dietary habits and weak immune systems.Other experts agreed with He.3"Smoking is by far the biggest cause4 of lung cancer for men," said Dr Tan Binyong, honorary president of the Respiratory Disease Institute at Fudan University's Medical College. "It's true that second-hand smoke and cooking fumes are the main causes among women.”He's research also warned people not to stand near of stalls selling5 fried foods due to the poor quality of oils used. The chance of catching lung cancer is three times higher if exposed to the fume for a long time,6 experts said.词汇:fume n.烟,气,汽fry v.油炸,油煎tumor(=tumour)n.肿瘤unventilated vt.使不通风cancern.癌瘤adjacent adj.临近的breast/brest/n.乳房,胸dietary adj饮食的incidence n.发生(率) immune adj 免疫的diagnosis n.诊断honorary adj.名誉上的;荣誉的inhale v.吸人respiratory adj.呼吸的irritate vt.使疼痛,刺激stall n.货摊注释:plain原意是“抱怨,诉苦”,但医学上常用complain about或complain of表示“主诉"。

Relieving the Pain“Exercise may be the best treatment of chronic pain,”say doctors at a new clinic for dealing with pain. “People with chronic pain need to stop lying around, go out more, and start exercising.”The instinctive reactionto acute pain is to stop moving and to try to protect the source of pain. But it seems that this is often not productive, especially in the case of back pain. Back pain, after headaches and tiredness, has become the third most common reason for people to visit their doctors. Painful backs now account for millions of days off work.Lumbar(腰部的)pains are partly the price humans pay for taking their forelimbs off the ground, but they are made worse by a sedentary(久坐不动的)lifestyle. Lack of exercise slowly decreases the flexibility and strength of muscles, so that it is more difficult to take pressure off the site of pain. Exercise is essential. It releases endorphins(内啡肽), the body’s “feel-good”chemicals, which are natural painkillers. In fact, these are so important that researchers are now looking for drugs that can maintain a comfortable level of endorphins in the body. Most people who go to a family doctor complaining of pain are prescribed pain-killing drugs rather than exercise. Since finding the cause of backache is not so easy, doctors frequently do not know the precise cause of the discomfort, and as the pain continues, sufferers end up taking stronger doses or a series of different drugs. “It’s crazy,”says Dr. Brasseur, a therapist at the International Association for the Study of Pain. “Some of them are taking different drugs prescribed by different doctors. I’ve just seen a patient who was taking two drugs which turned out to be the same thing under different- names.”A generation of new pain clinics now operates on the basis that drugs are best avoided. Once patients have undergone the initial physical and psychological check up, their medication is cut down as much as possible. Taking patients off drugs also prepares them for physical activity. In some pain-relief clinics, patients begin the day with muscle contraction and relaxation exercises, followed by an hour on exercise bikes. Later in the day, they practice tai chi(太极), self-defense, and deep thought. This compares with an average of two-and-a-half hours’physiotherapy(理疗)a week in a traditional hospital program. “The idea is to strengthen and to increase long-lasting energy, flexibility, and confidence,”explains Bill Wiles, a consultant pain doctor in Liverpool. “Patients undergoing this therapy get back to work and resume healthy active lifestyles much sooner than those subjected to more conservative treatment.”16.To treat pain, patients should stop moving around.A.Right B.Wrong C.Not mentioned17.Headaches are partly caused by lack of exercise.A.Right B.Wrong C.Not mentioned18.Exercise helps to take the pressure off the site of pain.A.Right B.Wrong C.Not mentioned19.Doctors often use drugs such as endorphins to treat patients.
