1My Favorite Holiday - National DayNational Day is my absolute favorite holiday! On October 1st, we celebrate the founding of our great nation. The whole country is decorated with beautiful red flags and lanterns. In the evening, there are incredible fireworks lighting up the sky.My family and I always watch the big parade on TV with all the colorful floats and performers. We eat delicious holiday foods like mooncakes and dumplings. I love dressing up in my nicest red outfit to show my patriotism.National Day is a joyous time when we honor our homeland's rich history and culture. The festivities fill me with pride and happiness to be Chinese. I can't wait to celebrate with my family again this year! Doesn't National Day sound like the best holiday ever?篇2My Favorite Holiday is National DayNational Day is my favorite holiday of the whole year! It's a really big and important celebration in China that lasts for seven whole days from October 1st through October 7th. All the kids get a full week off from school and our parents usually take some time off work too so we can do lots of fun family activities together. The holiday celebrates the founding of the People's Republic of China back in 1949 after years of war and chaos. On October 1st, 1949, Chairman Mao Zedong declared the establishment of the new communist China in Tiananmen Square in Beijing. That's why every year on October 1st there is a huge parade and celebration in Beijing with military troops marching, cool tanks and missile displays, and dancers and performers putting on shows. It's broadcast all over TV so we can watch it at home.Even though the big festivities are in Beijing, we have lots of National Day traditions and celebrations where I live too. One of my favorite things is all the decorations that go up around town. There are national flags and red lanterns hung up everywhere - on buildings, lampposts, stores, you name it. Red is such a lucky color in China. The city puts up these really neat light displays too with illuminated Chinese characters spelling out holiday greetings.Another tradition I love is eating mooncakes! Even though the Mid-Autumn Festival just ended, these dense pastries filled with lotus seed paste or other yummy fillings are so good that we keep eating them for National Day too. My grandma always buys a bunch of fancy mooncake gift boxes to give out. One year she let me hand them out and I felt so grown up!My friends and I have a National Day tradition of our own - we have a casual sports competition in the park near my house. We divide into two teams and play fun games like tug-of-war, three-legged races, sack races, you get the idea. The winning team gets small prizes like candy or stationery. It's not about the prizes though, it's just a fun way to spend time together during the holiday.Speaking of the park, that's where a lot of the community festivities happen. There are always photo exhibitions set up displaying pictures of China's accomplishments over the past year. Things like new buildings that were constructed, athletes who won big competitions, scientific discoveries, that kind of thing. My little brother's photo was included one year when his elementary school art project won a city-wide contest! There are also cultural performances in the park, like dancing, singing, martial arts demonstrations, and even tiny opera shows.I went with my mom and grandma a couple years ago to see a troupe perform sections of one of the famous Peking Operas in full costume and makeup. It was really incredible, even if I didn't totally understand what was going on in the storyline. In the evenings, there are such cool fireworks displays and festivalsgoing on all over the city. People even set off lots of smaller fireworks in neighborhoods and parks. One year our family's celebration got rained out, which was kind of a bummer. But we still had a blast setting off sparklers in our apartment! Just had to be really careful not to burn anything or set off the smoke alarm. Some of my friends' families like to go traveling over the National Day holiday, but my family prefers to stick around the city. That way we can soak up all the local festivities and not miss out on any of the fun traditions. Don't get me wrong, I do really enjoy the few times we've gone on National Day trips before. A couple years ago we visited my grandparents' hometown in Sichuan Province and attended their village's holiday celebration. It was amazing to see the Lion Dances, Dragon Dances, and outdoor operas they put on. Such a cool cultural experience. But most years, we keep things low-key and just spend quality time together as a family. We'll make desserts liketangyuan (sweet rice balls) or jidangao (egg cakes) at home, then maybe catch an Independence Day-themed animation movie in the theaters. My favorite is still the one about the Monkey King - such an iconic character from the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West. Sometimes we'll just hang out at home, watching the holiday TV specials and playing board games and cards. No matter what we do, National Day is such a fun time filled with delicious food, quality family bonding, and celebrations of Chinese culture and heritage. As an elementary student, I get pretty tired of schoolwork by late September, so I always look forward to the long National Day break. It gives me a chance to recharge my batteries before the next semester. But most importantly, it's just an awesome time to revel in my pride for China and its vibrant traditions. Of all the holidays, National Day is definitely my favorite!篇3My Favorite Holiday: National DayNational Day is my favorite holiday! I can't wait for National Day every year!篇6My Favorite Holiday - National DayNational Day is my absolute favorite holiday! It's the best day of the year, and I always look forward to it. Every year on October 1st, we celebrate the founding of the People's Republic of China, and it's a really big deal! One of the things I love most about National Day is all the decorations. Everywhere you look, you see red lanterns, colorful lights, and beautiful displays of Chinese culture. The streets are lined with flags, and there are always big flower arrangements. My school gets all decked out too, with paper lanterns hanging in the hallways and dragon drawings on the walls. It's so pretty and festive!Another great part of National Day is the parades and performances. There are always huge parades in the big cities, with marching bands, dancing dragons, and amazing floats. People dress up in traditional costumes and do lion dances or acrobatics. On TV, we get to watch special programs and shows celebrating Chinese history and culture. At my school, we haveour own little parade and talent show where we sing songs, do dances, and even put on short plays about famous Chinese legends or stories. I love being part of the performances!During the week-long National Day holiday, my family always does fun activities together. We might visit the park for a picnic, go to a museum to learn about Chinese history and culture, or take a little trip to a nearby city. Sometimes we just stay home and play games, watch movies, and relax. It's a nice break from school and a chance to spend quality time as a family. My favorite part of National Day, though, is the sense of unity and pride I feel. Seeing all the people come together to celebrate our country and culture makes me feel so happy and patriotic. I love learning about China's rich history, amazing accomplishments, and diverse traditions. It makes me appreciate how lucky I am to be part of such an incredible nation with thousands of years of culture and heritage.Whether I'm watching the parades, eating delicious food, participating in performances, or just spending time with my loved ones, National Day fills me with joy and gratitude. I can't imagine a better way to honor China's birthday than with a whole week of festivities, traditions, and celebration. NationalDay is truly the happiest time of the year, and I hope I get to enjoy it for many, many more years to come!。

National Day will always be my favorite time, when we honor our history and dream of an even brighter future for our beloved homeland.篇3My Favorite Holiday: National DayNational Day is my favorite holiday of the year! It's a time when the whole country comes together to celebrate the founding of the People's Republic of China. Every year on October 1st, there are huge celebrations and a goldenweek-long vacation from school. It's the best time ever! One of the things I love most about National Day is all the decorations. Everywhere you look, there are bright red Chinese flags waving in the breeze. The streets are lined with colorful lanterns and banners with pictures of dragon dances and fireworks. My mom helps me make paper cut-outs of flowers and Chinese characters to hang in our windows. She says it's to welcome the holiday and bring good luck. I think it just makes everything look so pretty and festive!Another fun part of National Day is watching the big parade on TV. It's held every year in Beijing, the capital city. Thousands of soldiers, dancers, acrobats, and musicians march through Tiananmen Square. They wear amazing costumes and perform incredible stunts. My favorite part is seeing the different ethnic groups from all over China dressed in their traditional clothes. The bright colors and detailed designs are just beautiful. I feel soproud watching everyone celebrate our country's diversity and rich culture. When the big shows are over, we rush to light our own string of little firecrackers. I get to take turns lighting them with my dad and grandpa. We jump up and down cheering as they pop and sizzle at our feet. It's scary but so exciting! My grandpa tells me stories about setting off even bigger fireworks with his brothers when he was a kid. He says their neighborhood used to look like a war zone with all the smoke! I can't even imagine that. After the fireworks, the celebrations continue with dragon dances, lion dances, and other traditional performances in parks and public squares across the city. The dancing is so energetic and vibrant, with the colorful costumes whirling and shimmering under the lights. My friends and I like to imitate the moves, waving our arms and bodies to mimic the dragons and lions. We giggle as we step on each other's toes and get all tangled up. It's just so much fun!My grandma always makes my favorite foods for the holiday - dumplings, noodles, roasted chicken, and candied fruits. She spends days preparing the special dishes, rolling out the dumpling wrappers and mincing the fillings by hand. It's such a treat to eat her amazing cooking. I stuff myself until my bellyfeels like it will pop! I don't care though. It's National Day - I can eat as much as I want! After dinner, it's my grandpa's favorite tradition. We spread out blankets in the field behind the house and he teaches us about all the constellations sparkling in the night sky. He points out the different shapes like the dragon, the warrior, and the queen. I love listening to the ancient stories of how the gods placed each star millions of years ago. We sip warm glasses of sweet rice wine and munch on pumpkin seeds as we gaze up at the dazzling blanket of lights overhead. It's so peaceful and magical. I never want those nights to end. When the golden week vacation is over, we journey back to the city. I'm always sad for National Day to be finished. But in my heart, I know the holiday isn't just about the week off school. It's about feeling proud of my country and its wonderful traditions. It's about spending quality time with my family and making happy memories together. As I unpack my bag of leftover mooncakes and sparklers, I think ahead to next year's celebration.I can't wait for the decorations, the parade, the fireworks, the dances, and most of all - being with the people I love. To me, that's what National Day is truly all about.篇4My Favorite Holiday: National DayDo you have a favorite holiday? The excitement builds and builds until finally the big day arrives! On National Day morning, my family and I wake up early to watch the incredible parade in Tian'anmen Square on TV. Thousands of people march together, along with fancy floats, dancers, acrobats, and more. It's such a spectacular show of national pride and unity. As a kid, I'm always awed by the colorful costumes, choreographed dances, and sheer scale of the parade. It makes me feel proud to be Chinese. After the parade, we head outside to join in the National Day festivities around the city. Parks and public spaces are filled with carnival games, food stalls selling delicious snacks, and performances of traditional arts like opera, martial arts, and dragon dances. My favorite thing is definitely the dragon dances! Seeing those huge, undulating dragon puppets weaving through the crowds is just mesmerizing. In the evening, the real magic happens - fireworks! All across China, amazing fireworks shows light up the night sky. We find a good spot in a park or on a hill and spread out our blankets. Then we ooh and aah as brilliant bursts of color explode overhead accompanied by thundering booms and crackles. The shows are always choreographed to patriotic music which adds to the sense of celebration. Fireworks on National Day are like nothing else!By the end of National Day, I'm exhausted from all the festivities but still feeling that warm holiday glow. I always get so excited when National Day is coming up because I know it means a whole week off from school, seeing all my family, eating delicious food, and watching amazing fireworks shows! One of the best things about National Day is the looooong holiday we get. Our school gives us an entire week off in early October, which is called the "Golden Week." That means no classes, no homework, and no waking up early for seven wonderful days. I get to sleep in as late as I want and just relax and play all day. My parents take some days off work too so we can spend quality family time together.During the National Day holiday, my grandparents always come over from their home in the countryside to stay with us inthe city. I love when they visit because they spoil me rotten! My grandma makes my favorite dishes like sweet and sour pork, dumplings, and hot and sour soup. She's such an amazing cook. My grandpa is really funny and always tells the best jokes and stories. He fought in the war when he was young so he has some crazy adventures to share. We decorate our home with Chinese flags, lanterns, and other festive decorations for National Day. The whole country is covered in red and yellow, the colors of the Chinese flag. Buildings have bright lights and signs wishing everyone a happy National Day. Parks and public spaces are decked out too. It looks so beautiful and patriotic. My favorite part of the celebrations is definitely the National Day Parade held in Beijing, the capital city. It's broadcast live on TV and we always gather together as a family to watch it. First there's a huge military parade with troops marching, tanks rolling by, and jets flying overhead trailing colorful smoke. Then there are cultural performances, floats, and fireworks displays. The floats are so creative and represent each province and major city. The dancers wear amazing costumes too. I dream of maybe being in the parade one day!At night on National Day, every city puts on a massive fireworks show that lights up the sky for hours. My dad takes me and my little brother up to the rooftop of our apartment building with some snacks to get the best view. We ooh and aah as the bright, sparkly fireworks explode into different shapes and colors. Red, yellow, green, blue, purple - it's a kaleidoscope of beauty!School always has special National Day activities and performances in the days before and after the actual holiday. We learn patriotic songs, dances, and poems to perform for our parents and community. I get to dress up in traditional Chinese outfits like a qipao or hanfu. One year I even got to twirl some bright colorful ribbons during a rhythmic dance number! The entire week is filled with so much joy, pride, and appreciation for our Chinese culture and history. We watch movies about revolutionary heroes, learn tales of ancient dynasties and legends, and discuss the importance of unity and working towards a bright future as one country. Despite being such a huge nation of over 1 billion people, National Day makes me feel connected to all my fellow Chinese citizens. When the week-long holiday comes to an end, I'm always so sad to see it go. I have to go back to school and my grandparents have to leave. But I know the very next National Day is justaround the corner where I can make more wonderful memories. It's the highlight of my year and my favorite time to celebrate my home country of China with pride and joy. I can't wait for October 1st to roll around again!篇6My Favorite Holiday - National DayNational Day is my favorite holiday of the year! It's a time when the whole country celebrates being Chinese and shows its pride. I always look forward to the Golden Week vacation and all the fun activities that come with it.One of the best parts is watching the grand military parade in Beijing on television. I'm in awe seeing all the soldiers marching in perfect formation and sync. The tanks, missiles, and other advanced weapons and equipment are so cool and powerful looking. It makes me feel very safe knowing we have such a strong national defense force protecting us. The air show with the fighter jets and helicopters doing aerial maneuvers and stunts is awesome too. I try to spot my favorite J-20 stealth fighters streaking across the sky trailing colorful smoke trails.Another highlight is the beautiful fireworks displays held in major cities across the nation on National Day evening. Myparents always take me to watch the big show over the river in our city. The bursts of brilliant reds, blues, greens, and golden showers of sparkling lights are dazzling. I squeal in excitement each time a particularly huge blossom of light erupts overhead. The grand finale at the end when they seem to launch every firework at once in a thunderous crescendo is simply breathtaking. Afterwards, the smell of smoke hangs heavily in the cool night air as we walk back home.During the National Day holiday break from school, my family likes to go on trips together. One year we visited my grandparents in their village and I got to run around outside without worrying about homework or studying for a whole week. Another time we went to a resort down south and I got to splash in the pool and ocean all day long. Those vacations allowed us precious family bonding time away from the usual busy routines of work and school. At home, we decorate our apartment for National Day by hanging up the national flag and cut-outs of symbols like the Great Wall. My brother and I make paper chains and lanterns using red and yellow construction paper. I love the festive and patriotic ambiance it creates. On the actual National Day, we watch the flag raising ceremony on TV while eating traditionalholiday foods like moon cakes. Sometimes we see fun shows on TV with singing, dancing, and stories about Chinese history and culture. My grandparents give my brother and I traditional red envelopes with money inside, which we save up to buy new toys, games, or books. We also set off our own small fireworks and firecrackers at home, though we have to be very careful. One year I accidentally set a potted plant on fire and had to quickly stomp it out. Another time, I slammed my thumb with a firecracker and it turned bright purple and swollen for weeks! Despite those mishaps, I still really enjoy setting them off year after year.At school before and after the holiday, we have special National Day activities and lessons. We make arts and crafts projects with patriotic themes and symbols. We sing songs celebrating China and learn more about the history of the founding of the People's Republic. There are often displays of students' work decorating the hallways with messages of national pride. One year, my class even put on a short play reenacting scenes from the revolution.Overall, National Day is a wonderful time filled with exciting events, joyous celebration, family togetherness, and displays ofpatriotism and love for our great country. It fills me with a sense of pride and patriotism to be Chinese. It's a week I spend making lifelong happy memories each year. I look forward to when I'm older and can take my own kids to enjoy the festivities and pass on these honored traditions. National Day is truly a holiday to cherish forevermore!。

It's a special time when the whole country comes together to celebrate the founding of our great nation. For me, it's a chance to have fun with family and friends while learning about our rich history and culture. The celebrations start a few days before October 1st. Our neighborhood is decorated with red lanterns, national flags, and colorful displays. I love walking around admiring all the beautiful decorations. My parents take me to watch the big parade practice, which is always so exciting! Seeing all the performers in their bright costumes and listening to the drums and music gets me pumped up for the main event. On the eve of National Day, we have a big family dinner. My grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins all come over. The house is buzzing with energy as my mom and aunties cook up a storm in the kitchen. The smells of all the delicious dishes waftthrough the house, making my stomach growl. My favorite is my grandma's special dumplings - she makes them in the shape of cute little pigs! After our big feast, we head outside to watch the fireworks. I'll never forget the first time I saw the night sky light up with those brilliant bursts of color. It's such an amazing spectacle! The booms echo all around as the fireworks crackle and whistle overhead. I try my best to capture the moment on my camera, snapping photos of the most vibrant displays. The next morning, I wake up early, filled with anticipation for the big parade. My whole family bundles up and we make our way to find a good spot along the route. The crowds are massive but everyone is in a festive, friendly mood. Vendors sell little flags, toys, and tasty snacks as we wait for the parade to begin. Then, we hear it - the rumble of drums and cymbals crescendoing in the distance. The parade is coming! A troupe of dancers in flowing silk costumes appears first, moving gracefully down the street. Then come the floats, each one more elaborate than the last. My favorites are always the dragon and lion dances with their colorful, undulating shapes. The drummers pound out rhythms that thump in my chest. Acrobats perform amazing flips and contortions. It's all so vibrant and exciting! After the parade, we explore the fair set up nearby. Game booths, rides, and food stalls line the streets. I go on as many rides as I can, my stomach dropping on the roller coasters and spinning wildly on the swings. Then I join my cousins to play games, laughing as we clumsily toss rings and darts. We snack on cotton candy, candied fruit, and other sweet treats, our hands and faces getting sticky. As the day winds down, I'm exhausted but content. Leaning back against my dad, I watch one final fireworks show sparkle across the night sky. The colors blend into a kaleidoscope of light and sound, a brilliant finale for my favorite holiday. Clutching a glittering prize I won at the fair, I think about how lucky I am to be part of such a rich culture and traditions. I can't wait until next year's National Day!篇2My Favorite National DayEvery year, when the cool breeze of autumn starts to blow, and the leaves begin to turn shades of red and gold, I know that my favorite holiday is just around the corner – National Day! The entire week leading up to October 1st is filled with excitement and anticipation for me and my classmates. One of the things I look forward to the most is the special performances and activities organized by our school. The auditorium is always beautifully decorated with colorful lanterns, paper cuttings, and other traditional Chinese decorations. The teachers work hard to prepare various programs for us, including singing, dancing, and acting performances by different classes.I still remember last year's performance vividly. My class performed a traditional dragon dance, and I was chosen to be the head of the dragon. It was such an honor, and I practiced tirelessly to make sure I could lead the dance perfectly. On the day of the performance, I felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness as I stood backstage, waiting for our turn. But as soon as we stepped onto the stage, all my worries melted away. The bright lights, the cheers from the audience, and the rhythmic beats of the drums filled me with energy. We weaved and danced our way across the stage, and when it was over, the thunderous applause made me feel like a superstar!Another highlight of National Day for me is the classroom activities and projects we do leading up to the holiday. Last year, my teacher asked us to research and write reports on different aspects of Chinese culture and history. I chose to write about the Great Wall of China, and I spent hours poring over books andwebsites, learning fascinating facts about this incredible feat of engineering. Did you know that the Great Wall is so long that if you could walk its entire length, it would take you over a year to finish? Pretty amazing, right? In addition to the reports, we also made traditional Chinese crafts, like paper lanterns and fan paintings. It was a lot of fun, and I felt proud to be learning about and celebrating my country's rich heritage. But my most cherished National Day memory is from a few years ago when my grandparents came to visit from their hometown in the countryside. They brought with them a taste of traditional village life – homemade dumplings, sweet rice cakes, and stories of their childhood celebrations. As we sat around the table, savoring the delicious food and listening to their tales, I felt a deep connection to my roots and a profound appreciation for the rich tapestry of Chinese culture.Grandma told us about how, in her village, the entire community would come together to prepare for National Day. The women would spend days making intricate paper decorations and cooking special dishes, while the men worked on building a massive bonfire in the town square. On the eve of the holiday, everyone would gather around the bonfire, singingfolk songs and dancing to the beat of traditional drums. The festivities would last well into the night, with families exchanging gifts and sharing stories.Hearing these stories made me realize how lucky I am to be part of such a vibrant and ancient culture. It also reminded me that, although times have changed and celebrations may look different nowadays, the spirit of unity, joy, and pride that National Day represents remains the same.As I grow older, I know that my understanding and appreciation of National Day will deepen. It's not just a day off from school or a chance to stay up late watching fireworks – it's a celebration of our country's rich history, a reminder of the sacrifices and struggles that paved the way for the China we know today. It's a time to honor our traditions, our values, and our unwavering resilience as a nation. So, when National Day rolls around each year, I'll continue to embrace the festivities with open arms and an open heart. I'll sing the patriotic songs with gusto, marvel at the colorful decorations, and savor every moment of this special occasion. Because in celebrating National Day, we're not just celebrating a single day – we're celebrating the enduring spirit of China and itspeople, a spirit that has withstood the test of time and will continue to shine for generations to come.篇3My Favorite Holiday - National DayNational Day is my absolute favorite holiday! I'm grateful for the opportunities I have that they didn't.At school, we learn all about the history behind National Day and the ideals it represents - patriotism, unity, and progress. We read poems and literature celebrating China's natural beauty, rich culture, and achievements. My favorite poem is "My Motherland" which talks about the vast landscapes, ancient philosophies, and indomitable spirit of our people. It's a big celebration for the founding of the People's Republic of China on October 1st, 1949. Every year there is a amazing parade in Beijing with floats, dancers, and the military marching. Hundreds of millions of people across the country watch it on TV.But what I love most about National Day is all the fun activities and family time. We get a whole week off from school, which is awesome! My grandparents always come over and myaunt, uncle, and cousins visit too. Our home is filled with my big, noisy family and it's so lively. I love it!The celebrations actually start on the evening of September 30th. We have a big reunion dinner with all my relatives. My mom and aunts cook for days to prepare all the delicious dishes. There are so many amazing foods - dumplings, noodles, fish, meat dishes, and lots of vegetables. And for dessert there are sweet soups, fruits, cakes, and my favorite - mooncakes! Those dense, sweet pastries filled with lotus seed paste or other fillings are so good. I can never eat just one. After our huge feast, my cousins and I go outside and light sparklers. We run around waving the bright, glowing sticks, trying to make cool designs in the air with the sparks. Sometimes my dad gets out little fireworks for us to set off too. They make a big bang and burst of colors. So fun!The next day is finally October 1st and the big National Day parade in Beijing. We watch it on our TV as one of the hosts talk about the different floats and groups marching by. I always think the dancers are amazing, waving bright flags or ribbons in those huge, synchronized formations. The military tanks, missiles and soldiers marching look so strong and powerful too. Watching the parade gets me feeling really proud to be Chinese. In the afternoon, we usually go to thepark or fair grounds. There are always lots of carnival games, rides, and yummy street food vendors set up for the holiday. My cousins and I love going on the wild rides that spin you around really fast or drop from huge heights. We scream our heads off but it's thrilling! Afterwards we get fun treats like candied strawberry kebabs, crunchy sugar dragons, or my favorite - tray after tray of juicy cookes or steaming hot jianbing stuffed with egg, lettuce and sauce. On National Day evening, there are big fireworks shows and festivals all over the city. We go to the big show at the park and stake out a grassy spot early to get a prime view. Munching on snacks, playing games and chatting excitedly with my cousins, we wait for the colorful explosions to begin once it gets dark. When the first boom of fireworks burst into the sky, everyone ooohhs and aaahhs at the spectacular display. Different shapes and colors blossom overhead - red chrysanthemums, green palms, blue rings and golden willows. It's always an amazing show that makes me stare in wonder! For the rest of the week-long holiday, we hang out with family, maybe going to the movies, shopping or out to nice restaurants. My grandparents love taking us to historical sites ormuseums to learn about Chinese culture too. We definitely get pretty tired of being together by the end of the week! But I cherish this special holiday time with my big, loving family. On the last day of National Day break, we have a final family dinner together. As we're eating, I feel a little sad that the celebrations are ending and we'll all go back to our regular routines. But I'm already looking forward to next year's National Day and another whole week of exceptional food, laughter, and making amazing memories with the people I love most. It's the absolute best holiday!篇5My Favorite Holiday – National DayNational Day is my absolute favorite holiday of the whole year! It's a special celebration that brings joy and excitement to me and everyone in China. Every October 1st, we get to celebrate the formation of the People's Republic of China with parades, fireworks, and fun activities. I always look forward to this day for months in advance! One of the best parts of National Day is that we get a whole week off from school. That's right – no classes, no homework, no tests for seven wonderful days! I get to sleep in late, play outsidefor hours, and just relax and have fun. My parents also take some time off work, so we get to spend quality family time together. On National Day itself, my family always watches the big parade in Tiananmen Square on TV. I'm amazed by the colorful floats, talented performers, and proud soldiers marching by. The aerial flybys with jets leaving colored smoke trails in their wake are so cool! My little brother and I like to pretend we are pilots soaring through the sky. After the parade, we go out for a special National Day lunch. I always get dumplings or noodles – my favorite Chinese foods. In the evening, we attend fireworks displays in the local park or fairgrounds. Dazzling bursts of red, gold, green, and blue light up the night sky as the fireworks explode in amazing shapes and patterns. The "oohs" and "ahhs" from the crowd make the experience even more exciting. I'll never forget the first time I saw fireworks up close – I was only four years old but the memory is burned into my mind. The thunderous booms shook my little body but I wasn't scared at all. I was filled with pure joy and awe at the spectacle before my eyes.My grandparents always give me and my brother little red envelopes with spending money inside for National Day. One year I saved up my money and bought a beautiful Chinesedragon kite to fly. Another year, I got some vintage Communist propaganda posters that I thought looked really neat. Sometimes I just spend the money on ice cream or little toys and trinkets from the street vendors. No matter what I buy, it makes me feel special and grown up to have my own spending money. When night falls, parks and public spaces are decorated with beautiful lanterns in all sorts of shapes and colors. Paper-cut designs of dragons, animals, flowers, and symbols cover the lanterns and cast flickering shadows on the ground. Adults and kids alike wander around admiring the lanterns and the overall festive atmosphere. I love the smell of fragrant orchid flowers mixed with the savoury aroma of grilled squid and other street foods.Thinking back, some of my favorite National Day memories are from when I was very little. I remember doing holiday art projects at school like making Papier-Mâché dragons, drawing Chinese landscapes, or crafting little soldier hats. We would sing patriotic songs about the Chinese homeland being a "great wall of iron" and loving our beautiful country forever. Getting dressed up in my nicest traditional Chinese clothing like a little emperor always made me feel so proud. As I've gotten older, the holiday has stayed exciting but taken on new meanings for me. Now I have a deeper appreciation for China's history, its revolutionary founders, and how far we've come as a nation. I've learned about the ideals of patriotism, unity, and national pride that National Day represents. Instead of just enjoying the days off school, now I truly revel in the sense of communal celebration, cultural identity, and shared Chinese spirit. When I see the pride beaming from veterans' faces as they watch the military parade, I feel a profound sense of gratitude for their sacrifices to defend our country. The fireworks, once just a dazzling light show, now remind me of the revolutionary struggle and perseverance that gave birth to new China. The lanterns symbolize lighting the path forward into the future as a strong, prosperous nation. Passing these traditions down to the next generation feels like a sacred honor.Every National Day, I'm struck by how such a joyous, festive holiday can carry such deep historic and cultural significance. I may understand it on a more cerebral level now, but my childlike sense of wonderment never fades. Watching the grand displays and feeling the electric atmosphere, I'm still that same awestrucklittle kid at heart. I hope that same unbridled jubilation and patriotism will stay with me forever.I know that when I'm grown up and maybe have children of my own someday, I'll put just as much effort into upholding National Day traditions. I'll teach them all the songs and stories, let them experience all the foods and festivities. Maybe I'll even bring them to watch the parade in Beijing so they can experience the full spectacle themselves. Celebrating National Day is one of those rare篇6My Favorite Holiday: National DayNational Day is my absolute favorite holiday of the year! Every October 1st, our whole country celebrates the founding of the People's Republic of China. It's a really special day filled with fun activities, amazing food, and quality family time. One of the best parts is that we get a whole week off from school! No early alarms, no homework, and no tests for seven wonderful days. I get to sleep in as late as I want and just relax. My parents don't have to go to work either, so we get to spend a lot of extra time together as a family. The festivities actually start a few days before October 1st. My mom always buys loads of delicious snacks and treats like mooncakes, candies, dried fruits and nuts. She stashes them all over the house and I have a blast trying to find all the hiding spots. It's like an ongoing scavenger hunt and I snack on my findings all week long.A couple days before National Day, we put up decorations around our home. We hang lanterns, banners with lucky symbols, and my personal favorite - firework designs that we make out of red paper. They're supposed to look like the fireworks in the big shows they have in the cities. I love trying to cut out cool shapes and designs for them.On the evening of September 30th, my whole family gathers to make dumplings together. It's a tradition my grandma started when she was young. We spend hours folding and pinching the delicious fillings into the little dough wrappers. Grandma always makes fun shapes for the kids like little bunnies or hearts. My brother and I have a contest to see who can fold the most dumplings. I won last year with 187!Finally, October 1st arrives and the real celebrations begin! We wake up early and watch the big flag raising ceremony on TV from Tiananmen Square. I admire the soldiers' perfectformations and bold uniforms. The raising of the bright red national flag always gives me a proud, patriotic feeling. After that, the whole family feasts on all the dumplings we prepared the night before. We dip them in vinegar, soy sauce, or my favorite - a sweet and slightly spicy sauce grandma makes from scratch. I stuff myself until I can't eat another bite.Once we've cleaned up from breakfast, we head into the city to watch the National Day parade. We pack snacks and drinks and stake out a spot along the parade route early in the morning to get a good view. I love seeing all the colorful floats, performers, and the military showcase with their vehicles and aircraft flying overhead while the announcer tells the history of our great nation. When the parade ends in the late afternoon, the real fun begins - fireworks! Big, brilliant fireworks shows happen all across the country. Some of the biggest are in Beijing, Shanghai and other major cities. But we don't have to travel that far because there are huge fireworks displays right in our town's main park.We always meet up with extended family and old friends to watch the fireworks together. We spread out blankets and lawn chairs and spend the evening eating more snacks, talking andlaughing. Finally after the sun goes down, the first thunderous booms and brilliant bursts of light begin filling the night sky.I gaze up in total awe as countless dazzling fireworks of every color and shape explode above us. Shimmering red chrysanthemums, sizzling blue comets, and golden willows raining sparks all the way across the heavens. I try my best to etch every breathtaking explosion into my memory.By the time the grand finale arrives, showering the park in a downpour of multicolored sparkles, I'm completely mesmerized.A new year has officially started for our great country and been celebrated in style. After the grand finale fades, we trudge home completely worn out but still buzzing with excitement from the fireworks. I have sweet dreams filled with whizzing rockets and twinkling gemstone-like bursts. The rest of the National Day holiday week is spent visiting other relatives, hitting the town's carnival rides and game booths, and just hanging out at home watching TV and movies together.I cherish all the downtime and family bonding. Before I know it, the week has flown by and it's time to go back to school. As I put on my uniform and backpack, I'm alreadycounting down the days until next National Day. It's a week filled with such incredible sights, sounds and most importantly - time with loved ones making lifelong memories. That's why it will always be my favorite holiday!。

live well, love lots, and laugh often.
