01
What is garbage classification?
Garbage classification is a series of activities in which garbage is classified into public resources by storing, releasing and transporting according to certain regulations or standards.
02
Why should we execute(实行) garbage classification?
To increase the resource value and economic value of garbage and strive to make the best use of it.
03
What kinds of garbage can be divided into?
Kitchen waste (Wet waste):
Including leftovers, bones, vegetable roots, vegetable leaves, peel and other food waste. (tea residue, bagasse甘蔗渣, Chinese medicine residue, household bonsai, plant residue, etc.)
Recyclables:
Mainly including waste paper, plastic, glass, metal and textile.
Waste paper: Mainly including newspapers, periodicals, books, all kinds of wrapping paper. Note that paper towels and toilet paper are too water-soluble to be recycled.
Plastics: All kinds of plastic bags, plastic foam, plastic packaging, disposable plastic dinnerware, hard plastics, plastic toothbrush, plastic cups, mineral water bottles and so on.
Glass: Mainly including various glass bottles, broken glass pieces, mirrors, thermos(热水瓶) bottles and so on.
Metal: Mainly including all kinds of cans.
Cloth: Mainly including discarded clothes, tablecloths, face towels, school bags, shoes and so on.
Hazardous waste(有害垃圾):
Waste containing heavy metals(重金属)or toxic substances(有毒物质)that are harmful to human health or that cause real or potential harm to the environment. Including batteries, fluorescent tubes(荧光灯), bulbs, mercury thermometers(温度计), paint buckets(油漆桶), some home appliances(家用器具), expired drugs, expired过期的cosmetics, etc.
Other waste (Dry waste):
Including tile ceramics陶瓷制品, waste soil, toilet paper, paper towels and other hard to recycle waste and fruit shells, dust, food bags (boxes).
Toilet paper: Toilet paper in water that is dissolved, not recyclable "paper", similar to the cigarette box.
Kitchen waste bagging: The commonly used plastic bags, even if they are biodegradable, are far more difficult to corrode than kitchen waste. In addition, the plastic bags themselves are recyclable waste. The right way to do this is to dump your kitchen waste in the bin and put your plastic bags in a "recyclable" bin.
Fruit shell: In the garbage classification, the mark of "fruit shell and melon skin" is peanut shell, which really belongs to kitchen waste.
Dust: Dust is classified as "other waste," but leaves are "kitchen waste," including flowers that have failed at home.
