The American Revolution

Declaration of Independence, which the Congress adopted on July 4, 1776, officially proclaimed the independence of 13 North American colonies.
Catholic Maryland


Maryland was founded by Catholics, the founder was the second Lord Baltimore. Lord Baltimore wished to introduce a feudal system to his colony. But the feudal plan was not executed. The colony followed a capitalist development road.
Quaker Pennsylvania


William Penn set the fourth colonial pattern in North America. He started “the Holy Experiment”, which had a great impact on American culture. American founding fathers such as Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin were inspired by Penn’s experiment.

The third influential force was the Religious Reformation, a religious reform movement that started from Germany.

Americans values such as individualism, hard work, respect of education owe very much to the Puritan beliefs.
