if / whether引导的宾语从句
一、由if或whether引导的宾语从句。

if/ whether “是不是”，说明对陈述的事物不明确或不清楚。

常常利用在ask, wonder, can(could) you tell me 等后，二者通常能够互换。

例如：Lily asked if/whether she liked it.莉莉问她是不是喜爱它。

I want to know if (whether) he lives there.我想明白他是不是住在这儿。

He asked me whether (if) I could help him.他问我是不是能够帮忙他。

二、只能用whether不能用if 的情形
（1）在介词后面：
例如：I’m thinking of whether we should go fishing.
We are worried about whether it will rain tomorrow.
（2）在动词不定式前(whether to do sth.) ：
例如：They asked me whether to go skating.
（3）当与or not连用，或提出两种选择时:
例如：I don’t know whether he’s free or not.
Mary asked whether I was doing my homework or not.
（4）宾语从句提前时：
例如：Whether this is true or not, I can’t say.

三、宾语从句的语序：引导词+主语+谓语+其他成份
例如：I think that we can be good friends.
I can’t remember if I posted the letter.
May we ask what you are doing?
四、特殊的宾语从句———间接引语
当直接引语是一样疑问句，改成间接引语时，连接代词用if或whether，而引述选择疑问句时用whether，引述动词用ask，没有间接宾语的能够加一个间接宾语me, him等。

例如：She said to Tom,“Can you help me ?” →She asked Tom if / whether he could help her.
She asked,“Is this book yours or his?” →She asked me whether that book was mine or his.

二、He asked , “ Are you a Party member or a League member?”→He asked .
