I did not _a_g_r_ee_ w__it_h_ him and continued to talk to Peter every evening. A few days _l_a_te_r_ Daddy showed he was not _p_le_a_s_e_d_ with me. He had thought that after our _ta_l_k_ I would not go _u_p_s_ta_i_r_s every evening. He was _d_is_a_p_p_o_i_n_t_ed_ that I had not followed his advice.
Yours, Miss Wang
Listen to Part 1.
Listen again and fill in the blanks. Leslie Clark, a _C_a_n__a_d_ia_n__ from Vancouver, arrives in China to do some _b_u_s_in_e_s_s_. Her company sells _b_u_s_e_s_. During her _s_ta_y_ she meets many Chinese people. Most of them are very kind to her. A few of them _i_n_v_it_e_ her to dinners with _d_e_li_ci_o_u_s_ food and drink.
I think you should not talk to him _a_lo_n__e so often. This is a special _s_it_u_a_t_io_n_. If you were outside you could see many _o_th__er_ boys and girls. You could do all _k_in__d_s of other things. But here you are together all the time and if you want to _g_e_t a_w__a_y you can’t. In fact you see each other 24 hours a day. What happens if you _q_u_a_r_r_e_l ?”
Listen to Part 2.
Listen again and fill in the blanks.
When she gets on the _p_la_n_e_ to fly home, another Canadian asks her, “So, did you make any _f_ri_e_n_d_s_ in China?” Leslie replies, “Yes, I made some good friends. Of course thebyusairnees_s_______ friends. No one can becomceloas_e____ friend when you see them for suschhorat_____ time. I think some of them really likedbumte ____ others may have been trying to be my friends for their own _re_a_s_o_n_s_.
_T_e_e_n_a_g_e_r_s_ like to gossip, and they often see something that isn’t _r_ea_l_. Perhaps your classmates cannot _u_n_d_e_r_st_a_n_d_ your friendship with this boy. That’s no reason to stop it. My _a_d_v_ic_e_ is to ignore your _cl_a_s_s_m_a_t_e_s_. That way you will show them that you are more _g_r_o_w_n_-_u_p_ than they are.

We live very _c_lo_s_e_ together here.” Then on _S_u_n_d_a_y_ morning he called me and we talked about it again. He said, “Annteh,oIu’vgeh_t _______ about what you told me.
They take her to _i_n_te_r_e_s_ti_n_g_ places and to a mountain in the _c_o_u_n_t_ry_s_i_d_e_. Some people even invite her to be a _g_u_e_s_t_ in their homes. Leslie is asked whether she thinks the Chinese are _f_r_ie_n_d_l_y_. “Yes,” she says, “I think Chinese people are very friendly.”
