The students have learned English for about 3 years. But most of them are poor in English. They can understand some simple English words and sentences. Most of them have a great interest in English now. This lesson is about what you likes and dislikes. The question that talking about what you like is simple for our students. Try to encourage them to be active to talk about what they likes and dislikes. So teacher must guide and help them a lot .Using music and pictures ,let them relax,then ask some students to talk about what they like and what they don’t like, then tell the others the reasons.

The Terra Cotta Army are the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shi Huang the First Emperor of China. The Terracotta Army was discovered in 1974 in the eastern suburbs of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province by local farmers drilling a water well 1.5 miles east of Lishan (a mountain). The figures vary in height (183–195 cm - 6ft–6ft 5in), according to their role, the tallest being the generals. The figures include strong warriors, chariots, horses, officials, acrobats, strongmen, and musicians. Current estimates are that in the three pits containing the Terracotta Army there were over 2,000 soldiers, 100 chariots with 400 horses and 300 cavalry horses, the majority of which are still buried in the pits.

The West Lake
Lying in Hangzhou City of Zhejiang Province, the West Lake is a world famous tourist spot. Embraced by green hills on three sides, the lake covers an area of 5.6 square kilometers and has a perimeter of 15 kilometers. The whole lake is divided into 5 sections, namely the Outer Lake, North Inner Lake, Yue Lake and Little South Lake, by Gu Hill, Sudi Causeway, Baiti Causeway and Ruangong Mound.
The Forbidden City
The Forbidden City is located at the center of the city of Beijing. First built in 1406 and completed in 1420, the city served as the royal palace in the Ming and Qin Dynasties. During the Ming and the Qing Dynasties, 24 emperors lived here.

This lesson talks about what you like and what you don’t like ,they are very interested in it.After learning the lesson,they will express what they like and what they don’t like. This lesson is the second part of Unit 9.So if the Ss can learn it well, it will be helpful to make the Ss learn the rest of this unit. Such a text is related to daily life, so it is helpful to raise their learning interests and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English.
